Not specific to just SC. There is the LDMA and the GPAA. The GPAA has chapters within each state. The LDMA are campgrounds in gold-rich areas. The one in SC is in Oconee County.
i would say black sand and calcite are more associated with gold than what that guy said. Not Mica. I can find tons of mica here in ontario canada and no gold is mixed with it
