@chateucaddy Em is so underrated as a human being. The media make it seem as though he is a bad person, just makes music for money and is insensitive. But really, he is a good person. I mean he asopted both the child of his ex-wife & another man and his niece. Most people wouldn't do that.

Facts.
I was in high school when this video came out they had a premier on MTV so I skipped school just to watch it 😭😭😭 I love Eminem so much I grew up on him plus we’re both from Detroit he lived on 8 mile I lived on 7 mile 😭💛
7MILE??
@@subhashchhetri3492 never heard of it or what?
Em lived in 7 mile, 8 mile was the movie with b-rabbit. So you actually lived in the same part as him. He said it in many interviews, that he's from 7 mile.
My father used to play this for me in the car when I was a little boy. He said it was his song to me. He was an alcoholic, he worked almost 80 hours a week in a paper factory. I almost never saw him because he was working. And when he was home, a lot of times he would just leave. Leave for days, weeks, sometimes months, going on benders. My mother was raising her little brothers because her mother was too sick to take care of them, taking care of my nana until the day she died when I was 8. They hated each other for most of my childhood. I never understood why he said this was his song to me, but now that I'm grown, and things are better than the were, I finally understand it. I bawl my eyes out every single time I hear this. He was trying to tell me why, he was trying to tell me no matter what happened he still loved me, that he wanted to give me a better life than what he had but he knew he and my mom were putting me through all the same things they went through, and he couldn't stop it. He wanted to, she wanted to, but it was too much for them both to get a hold of. I told him a few years ago that I finally understood, and that I loved him. No matter how bad things got, he never left us, not permanently. He stood by my mother and our whole family through everything. He's a true father. If any of you are blessed enough to still have your fathers, please know, they love you. More than you'll ever understand.
I wish you only peace and blessings 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤

How can someone not like this guy? Yeah, sure he did things that wasn't good occasionally. But he's that one man that does his best despite how hard it is. How good bad can someone be, when he's literally raising someone's kid like his own. Without regrets or anything like that. That's what's up!
Culture Vulture? Cultural Appropriation? Ignorant. There's only ONE race, and that's the HUMAN RACE. It's time to tear down the walls we've built to segregate ourselves and just embrace each other as brothers.
Keep grinding Shaq. 1-Love homie.
Amen, brother.
I agree in theory but culture appropriation is an issue. First off black people are still discriminated against and it's not fair to say we should all be equal for appropriation when black people are looked down on by society.
We get judged harshly for our hair and style of dress. We are called ghetto and told we look like criminals for showing our culture. But when a white person wears the same hairstyle or style of dress they are called high fashion and edgy.
We are forced to adapt and *assimilate* to white norms in the workplace for example to be taken seriously and gain employment. While they take our culture and claim it for themselves.
The problem with cultural appropriation is *erasure.* eventually these things don't become associated with our culture anymore and people don't give groups credit for the contributions. All while we are looked down on.
*Country music* was created by black people during slavery. Now not only is it considered to be a white genre. Now we have people like lil Nas X whose country song was removed from the billboard charts for not being country enough. Even though other country fusion songs by white people aren't contested. Many black people try to break into country music but the aren't welcome. It's not fair and that is why cultural appropriation matters. As long as we are being discriminated against, it isn't fair.
In my opinion Em doesn't fit this because he is actively contributing to Hip hop culture. He signs many black artist to his own label and pays homage to the people who came before him. He isn't contributing to an erasure of the black origins of Rap.
This is a long post but I wanted to be thorough and clear. I do agree that race shouldn't affect someone's perception of their character or value, but as long as it does we should be allowed to celebrate our culture without it being stripped of its black roots.
@@Ayaforshort Just like with your other comment, really only morons think he's a culture vulture.
That’s some real shit brother! We also just agrue with each other, why can’t we love? (no homo) there’s a limited amount of us and if something happens you’d feel like shit.

3:56 The most real NLS has ever been with us... that was heavy, yeah the song for sure but I'm talking about what YOU said bro, it doesn't take that many videos for viewers to understand the kind of man you are, your commitment to your subs, your family, the culture, and your role as a defender on the side of lyrical artistry on the cultural battleground of the civil war existing in hip-hop today. I'm so glad you're reminding people Shaq, that Em was an artist who put it ALL out there 4 the world to see & judge & his fans loved him for it. No matter how rich he got or how many albums he sold, he always kept it real & the fans could relate.
Rappers today don't actually speak on people's real struggles. Instead they rap about bull***t like guns they've never actually shot, drugs they aren't really doing, cars they have that no one else can afford & a bunch of other jibjab that evokes zero emotion. Mumble Rap and Auto Tune def have a place at the table but so does Big Bird singing Wheels on the Bus go Round & Round 😐 Having an audience doesn't make it a product of lyrical genius. I can think of a select few who fall in that category & Em is rightfully one of them. The music he made that influenced me 20yrs ago still hits home for today for me.

thats what makes eminem special, he gave himself to the world essentially, big eminem fans feel like they know him personally and too an extent thats true just because of how transparent em is with his life and how he vents his life into his music.. hes a special artist man, the fact that he wrote When Im gone, which is essentially a song MEANT to be played AFTER his death... i can say that when he does die, that song will be played all over the world and collectively cause millions to cry simultaneously.. that song still hits hard all this time later.. the impact of eminems music cant be understated.. and its why hes one of the best selling artist of all time..

Em has 3 distinct sides of himself that come out in his music.. "Slim Shady" (songs like 97 Bonnie & Clyde, 3am)..."Eminem" (songs like Lose Yourself, MOSH, White America)...and "Marshall" who comes out in songs like this one and When I'm Gone. You are so right that he has such a strong fanbase because he doesn't shy away from showing every single piece of who he is as a person
Lose yourself is actually none of the above. It’s actually B Rabbit from 8 mile. Very similar to Eminem but not quite the same. Lose yourself is basically a biography song about Rabbit’s rap battles and life in general. Eminem is on songs like white america, till I collapse, and sing for the moment.
Actually, sing for the moment might be slim it’s kinda hard to tell in that song
I truly appreciate this song and also the way how you explain that with these older songs to hear it now when we grown vs when we were growing up it's a different level of understanding. Em is coming from a long way and us fans with him. Mad love for your reaction video mi boi
