Did a hearing test and I do have some hearing loss around the 6Khz range, which also incidentally is the frequency of my tinnitus. So my hypothesis is that it was triggered by several factors, and my hearing loss impacted how it behaved. It’s been around 7 months now and I’m definitely at stage 4 of habituation. It’s almost not there anymore and I haven’t used masking at all for the past month.
Mine possibly also started after an extrmely long period of intense stress, but I also have issues with chronic tensions in my neck and trapezius region, and recently have been trying to address the latter - secretly hoping mine is somatic also. Would you mind sharing what kind of massages you did? Self-massage or professional? And how long did it take you from onset or tinnitus, or start of strength training until you started noticing it was gone?
This just further convinced me that I may have Ménière’s disease, which would explain a lot of things. Gonna have to call up my ent and get an appointment scheduled to discuss this…

My tinnitus has gotten so bad that it has induced a panic attack. The most important things I’ve done to limit it and usually eliminate it: 1) got a good quality hearing aid. My tinnitus instantaneously usually goes down about 50% the second I put it on. And then the lower volume of it helps me to ignore it completely most of the time. 2) realizing that tinnitus is exacerbated by stress and anxiety. This means that the loudness of it will decrease the less you worry about it. If the noise causes you stress, it creates feedback loop. The good news is this feedback loop doesn’t last forever. 3) relaxing my jaw muscles. 4) realized it will not always be loud. The fear of it being chronic makes it chronic. The instantaneous remedy is the hearing aid. The other remedies will help tremendously, but take practice at changing your mindset.
I had it 10/10, sounded like a fire alarm in my ear constantly for almost 3 months . It almost broke my mind. I got it from a diabetic ear infection. Its now around 3-5/10. Much more tolerable, and sometimes i forget its there. Ive had alot of serious health issues since 2020, including emergency surgeries, passing out from severe pain , kidney stones (6-18mm)years of severe nausea, diabetic foot infections, etc and Tinnitus i rate the worst. Simply because its like torture that breaks your mind and soul. when Tinnitus is incredibly loud , its impossible to ignore . Thankfully mine has lowered to a level where i can ignore.
Sometimes, at night mine will go away in one ear. Then it sort of creeps back in. Other times it will literally change tones. The when i wake up its back again, ringing loud as ever. If it shuts off sometimes, then surely the brain has the ability to solve this.
No it doesn't. Well it can if you're lucky . Im 12 years in. Snake oil . Sound masking helps immensely. Do you offer a money back guarantee on treatment. Depends how loud your tinnitus is an what caused it .
"Would stress indunced tinnitus fall into that range of idiopathic tinnitus?" This should be front page news. More people are unhappy, worn out, and addicted. I heard tinnitus is the body crying for help. A human needs 8 hours of sleep, 45 minutes of excersize 5 days a week, and to be free of stress and anxiety. And to avoid sugar, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. And sometimes its not even you, its the world that makes the so difficult to get better. I have been struggling with sleep for months because of tinnitus and I'm scrambling to save myself from an early death. I think this tinnitus crisis is going to accelerate.

Doctors tell their patients to get over it, to habituate. I wonder if antidepressants can also help some cases of tinnitus perhaps because they can calm the central nervous system? Think of a drug like mirtazapine for instance (also acts as an antihistamine).
Yes, some antidepressants, like mirtazapine, can help manage tinnitus for certain people by calming the central nervous system and reducing anxiety or stress, which can make tinnitus less bothersome. However, responses to medications vary, so it's important to consult with a doctor to see if it's a suitable option for your case.

It’s not caused by 5G or any EMF. It can’t, cause EMFs don’t have the capacity to affect us in that way. If they did, any EMF would affect us, including visible light (which is EMF as well) What’s more likely is it’s caused by anxiety and stress precisely because you’re afraid of EMF.
5G doesn't cause tinnitus. It has been an issue for humans for thousands of years. It's not new. I also have 13-14khz tinnitus. Stress causes it. Very loud noises cause it. Some antibiotics can cause it. High levels of tyramine may cause it for some, along w sinus headaches, but 5G doesn't cause it. Meditation helps, because it lowers stress.

I am a bit confused: Dr. Peng said most commonly the root cause seems to be unknown, i.e. idiopathic, while Mr. Thompson mentions hearing loss all the time.
More often than not, a patient with tinnitus may find out they have hearing loss they were not aware of until an auditory test. They thought their hearing was normal. Tinnitus feels like it is happening between our ears, so we assume it has to do with hearing. Definitely, it is an imbalance in the neck and head region. We have to be patient with ourselves, listen to our body, and be aware of what ailments we have been experiencing. I have an enlarged submandibular salivary gland that affected my Eustachian tube, sleep, comfort, and sleep positions. Now, I am dealing with Tinnitus, and I believe it is all connected. It is finding a Dr. to listen and refer you to needed PT, ….
Many people who experience tinnitus have some degree of hair cell damage in their cochlea (hearing loss). Though we can often determine if tinnitus is cochlear, somatic or central, there are still many people who have idiopathic tinnitus, meaning we cannot specify an underlying cause.
Does this doctor have tinnitus himself?? I don't think so. It doesn't get better. You just get used to it & try to cope with it. That's all! Hearing our heartbeat in comparison to hearing tinnitus? No. Not similar.
Not true. Sorry that people like you come on here and scare everyone. Everyone is different. Hence why this shit has no cure. Mine was a 10/10 . After 11 months it is now a 5 or 4. You must have damaged your ears. Mine was caused by stress and anxiety.
@@jaystilo8387People like Me? Listen, my friend, we are all in the same boat if we are watching this video & have tinnitus. Tinnitus can come from ear damage/hearing loss, stress and anxiety, jaw & neck problems, AND a combination of all these things. Since tinnitus comes from the brain, it is a neurological condition. Sometimes, our stress & anxiety can makes the neurons overfire in our brain which causes the tinnitus. Another thing: Our acoustic nerve is at the back of our brain. Sometimes a rare neuroma can form on the acoustic nerve which can cause tinnitus; not trying to scare you😂 but if you claim to Not have ear damage/hearing loss, have you ever went to go get an MRI of the head & neck? Did you ever have a hearing test by an ENT? I did. If yourself don't have ear damage & conclude that your tinnitus was from stress and anxiety, hence the reason it is down to a 5 now, very good for you. Otherwise no one, including me is trying to scare anyone here, just expressing our frustration of having to constantly live with a sound from our brain/ears, wishing one day to not just have a reduction in tinnitus, but to hear complete SILENCE.
@@jaystilo8387 Not trying to scare you at all. Are you sure you don't have ear damage? Did you get a hearing test to confirm you do not have hearing loss? Good for you that it's a 5 now for you. But did you go get an MRI to rule out an acoustic neuroma? These are the initial steps to take when you first get tinnitus. Not meaning to scare you at all.

Honestly, I shouldn't spread these lies around, there are rare cases of people who improve without explanation, but 99% don't improve, I see that in groups. We need more research to show the seriousness of the issue and not mitigate the issue, millions of lives destroyed.

Can a nose spray for opening the sinuses prescribed by Dr cause it. As soon as I sprayed my head literally popped and then roaring in ears. It’s now a soft white noise. I’ve taken everything advertised for it…..nothing helps!
You might have Eustachian tube dysfunction, which might also be somatic. Typically popping occurs. My tinnitus is caused by neck or upper back issues. Which again cause Eustachian tube issues during bad periods. Often it also creates a weird effect when sound enters the ears, the sound waves kinda create this bubbling sound.

Has anyone tried Ginko supplements? I read a review on Amazon where a man said that his tinnitus got really low taking it. When he stopped taking it, the sound came back. He said it worked for him. I think my sound is coming from my jaw being out of alignment.
Ginkgo Biloba works by placebo. So if you try it and you feel it works, it’s gonna work. Scientifically though, there’s no evidence it has any effect at all. Better stick to tried and tested and measurable treatments such as masking and habituation is the best bet. Also, do strength exercises as it lower stress and calms the body down.
Why are these blogs Soooo long winded. If there was an easy answer we who suffer would all know about it. I’ve leant Not to panic and rush to A & E any more after years of suffering. I now acknowledge it and ignore it. I have it permanently and know I must live with it. It could be worse think of people who are Much worse off with more serious illnesses. Then it’s not Sooo bad so that helps. Life goes on we have down days but they do not last. Nature and fulfilment in life help me to cope. If upset or stressed it will be worse but it DOES NOT last. Thinking of you all we are in this together it is Not life threatening so we must just get on with it.😁😁😉😉

Same here. Since August 2021. Everyone looks at me like I was believing in conspiracy theories. It is driving me mad … literally
The storm does not get better, you just stop forgetting your umbrella....
My tinnitus has gotten so bad that it has induced a panic attack. The most important things I’ve done to limit it and usually eliminate it:
1) got a good quality hearing aid.
My understanding id hearing aid will only work if there is associated hearing loss
@@drnick4114 yes. Thats why mine works so well
@@DG-ie5ip yes. Definitely. But about 7 years ago I got a very bad cold that made me lose a significant amount of my hearing in my left ear.

Maybe you have acid reflux.

Doctors tell their patients to get over it, to habituate. I've seen many comments, stories of tinnitus going away after quitting smoking, or avoiding sweets, or quitting coffee..

Tinnitus going on 12 years. Had all appoints and vestibular therapy. Epley maneuver works for me with vertigo attacks. Having neck c5.c6.c7 fusion due to severe stenosis. Hoping and praying the surgery goes well and there is a chance it could help with the tinnitus relief. Green noise played at night to help cover the tinnitus. White noise with my hearing aids help me to understand words and music better. The only time i never have tinnitus is when i occasionally have a vagus response and about pass out on toilet. Went see a specialist at Women's Clinic because Menopause was the cause. HRT did not work did Accupunture treatments. Now just using headphones to habituate tinnitus. Went to the dentist recently and tried to say my sudden tinnitus was caused by my jaw nothing else 🙃. Please be part of health insurance because paying 5k plus is nit not going happen.
While it is possible that your jaw can cause tinnitus, many women experience an increase in tinnitus with menopause.
What is the age range of your study?
Longevity of the condition?
Great questions! We will have to meet with Dr. Peng again to get more details on his current research.
We recommend seeing a TMJ specialist as TMJ and tinnitus have a very high correlation.
Mine just gets worse... 😢
I've had tinnitus (tonal) for about a decade now, local ENT doesn't seem to believe me that whenever I open my jaw wide, the sound gets intenseively worse. They found no ear issues and my audio test came back great :(
Same. If I look up or extend my lower jaw outwards, it gets EXTREMELY loud.
you are so correct i have it and it started with my jaw and you mention about the jaw i have to tell you are so correct about the jaw to me i extremly believe that it has to do with the jaw i went to a specialist he told me there is no cure 1 in for people have it.

You need a good dentist to fix it not an ent or doctor

It’s not caused by 5G or any EMF.
It can’t, cause EMFs don’t have the capacity to affect us in that way. If they did, any EMF would affect us, including visible light (which is EMF as well)
What’s more likely is it’s caused by anxiety and stress precisely because you’re afraid of EMF.

Do either of you actually have tinnitus? I've had severe tinnitus for 15 years and it's been terrible.
@@christinemanigian209 Trust me, we all run to the ENT in the beginning. I got it all done and nothing. My tinnitus now is still anoying as hell in complete silence, but the volume has gone down. To half of what it was.No reason to think it wont keep going down.
Ah this was a commercial/ infomercial….
Honestly, I shouldn't spread these lies around, there are rare cases of people who improve without explanation, but 99% don't improve, I see that in groups. We need more research to show the seriousness of the issue and not mitigate the issue, millions of lives destroyed.
Is this true for post vaccination tinnitus?
Yes, tinnitus can improve following a vaccination that caused the tinnitus.
We will see after my tooth will be pulled out. I feel my sinuses are connected with your teeth and causing noises in the brain.

When tinnitus 100% cure will be possible
Please it has to work
It does! And it’s not dangerous! That’s the most important thing to remember!
I have never been helped. It has already destroyed my brain. No hope for me
Can a nose spray for opening the sinuses prescribed by Dr cause it. As soon as I sprayed my head literally popped and then roaring in ears. It’s now a soft white noise. I’ve taken everything advertised for it…..nothing helps!
it will get better, the body heals in many ways. healthy life style helps.
