      Carl, this was a great presentation...The thing that is puzzling me is that Honda is pushing this lawnmower like the features on this mower are something new especially the clutch situation where one can disengage the mower blade while the unit is still running...This feature isn't new because I have had this feature on my Kubota Self propelled walk behind mower every since 1988...
      And my unit is still like new and it made of all metal...There is basically no plastic and my base platform doesn't rust at all...I hate that Kubota stop selling here in United States or they are very difficult to locate because I would like to have second unit since I do a small lawn service on the side since I am retired...Let me know your thoughts when you get a chance...
      It appears that Honda has copied many of the features that Kubota has down to the very design of the platform and wheel adjustments...My Kubota is built like a tank and the Kubota engine was being made by Kubota back then....let me know your thoughts...

    Thanks for this review! I'm picking up my HRX217VKA, one of two of the last Honda's that will be sold in my area, early next week after fix the recalled part. This is a great video for those of us new to the HOnda family.

    I just picked this mower up yesterday, very excited for this season to test it out. From everything I’ve seen it’s an awesome mower. You’re video comparing the different Honda mowers is actually what lead me to this model. Thanks for all the great information!

    Hi! Love watching your videos and I ended up buying this mower after watching this particular one! I have an extremely bumpy lawn ( i found this out after the fact) and I notice the mower sort of hopping all over the place because of that. It seems quite rigid - will it "break in" over time or is there something I can do to feel a little smoother? Almost seems it has TOO MUCH power?!

      I have a fairly smooth lawn but there are some rough areas so I understand what your saying. My experience is you will get more comfortable with the power, I have seen people with the handles set to high. Try dropping them a notch so your hands are lower. Keep me in the loop.

      @@Carlsmower Appreciate you getting back to me. It's definitely a very nice mower and I was able to tell on some smoother runs. We'll just have to keep on mowing!

    If only changing wheel heights was as easy when the mower is brand new / unused. Once they fill with grass, they are a bear to adjust. Spraying with WD40 or other helps some.
    Other than that, great mower. Nice job with the video…

      The rears can get stiff. Amazing what dirt and moisture do.

    Really nice run down on the VKA! Thanks for all the info. Where could I find Aspen4 if I’m not local? Is there another product that can be substituted for Aspen4?

      TruFuel works. I prefer Aspen but I understand you may not have that available in your area.

    Is it alright to feather the drive speed with the self propel handle after you have selected your drive speed on the select drive? I have read the self propel handle only has a on/off type drive engage?

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад +1

      It can be feathered to match your exact needs with no serious ill affects. You may potentially wear the drive belt out a bit prematurey, although I personally have not experienced that.
