When storing in winter. Do you run all the non ethanol fuel out before adding the Aspen 4?

The roto-stop feature is desirable for me; the self-propelled feature, not so much. Can this mower be pushed manually without engaging the drive system? Thank you.

It rolls very easily. So push a way

First person to say the whole bottle of oil. Thank you and great explanation of fuel. Our gas station sales ethanol free 87 Octane. Is this ok?

That's perfect. HRN 216 manual states 86 or higher. Ethanol free is way more stable over time if you don't go thru it regularly. It also leaves less carb/bowl deposits in small engines based on my experience and many videos available on YT. 👍🏻

This machine has been recalled due to injuries to users pulling cord when starting. I bought one it works well but only 2 months old . I'm a little pissed

I think that recall is only for the mowers made after 2022,l purchased mine in February of 2022 and called Honda today with the serial numbers and they said that my mower was not affected

That bagger/mulching door really collects A LOT of grass clippings. Other than that, it’s a 1st class machine. Would the Honda 9 inch wheels fit this mower?

Potentially with a change in the pinion gears

This new generation of Honda mowers throw the drive belt with alarming frequency.

What model are you speaking of? I gotta tell you our experience is not seen an increase in throwing the drive belt.

Josh I bought a house that is on a hill. My backyard drops about 8 feet in 50 feet. What would be the best mower for this yard. I want a self-propelled push mower. Would mower with tall wheels in rear work best? I do not want commercial if I can avoid it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Congrats on the new home. Larger wheels will bring no positive benefits from my experience unless the lawn is very rough. Large wheels can actually cause more problems when mowing side hills as there is more pressure in the center.
The long term durability of a common owner is great but I understand the cost difference can be hard to swallow. The HRN can be a little light on the front end when you have a 1/2 bag of grass and are traveling up hill. I’d recommend if you can find one the HRX217HYA the hydro drive will climb the hills better.
I have used the HRX217VKA hundreds of hours many on hills and haven’t had a problem.

I have a Stihl fs111rx can I buy the pole pruner or hedge trimmer attachment for it?

Gearbox attachments are able to fit, but you do risk damaging the driveshaft. That said we have customers who have done it for years.

Thanks Josh - Great demo, and the operational tips are really helpful. For winter & summer storage I have been taught to run my gas powered equipment until it runs out of fuel and stops in order to have as little fuel in the carburetor as possible. The in-line gas shut off valve on the mower should work well for this and is and important feature to me. I also use a fuel stabilizer so I don't dump the fuel from my mower, trimmer, and snow blower fuel tanks. It would be great to have your opinion on this practice, and whether the use of an "Aspen 4" type product is a better method.
I should also mention here that when I have had to "dump fuel" I mean that I drain it and take it to an authorized hazardous waste disposal facility in my county (along with any other left over environmentally toxic products).
    Keep cranking out the videos - you're really mowin' 'em down ;

Don't go thru the trouble of "dumping" fuel. I'm a fan of running dry or using a stable fuel. You could spend a fortune on Aspen but ethanol-free (plus a stabilizer if you want) will get you thru a winter just fine if you can't run dry.
