It's a proven fact that if you want to be a video game mascot you have to be featured in more than one genre. Crash Bandicoot was intended for the mascot role at one point, so the 1999 release of Crash Team Racing was practically inevitable. Man, I fuckin' love this game. Need to pull it out and beat it again, Mario Kart ain't got nothing on this; the boost system was amazing and made the game so much more fun; the item system was almost perfectly balanced down to the blue shell item wasn't a "fuck you first place" and benefits the person who actually threw it, the tracks were decent and varied, too... Great stuff. The shortcuts you could pull off in this game were nothing short of fantastic, my favourite being the wall hop in Blizzard Bluff and the ultra difficult one in Sewer Speedway.

Great run Crash Team Racing is actually the game that got me into gaming so it was awesome seeing it being played better then I can.
