I ADORE the guy who is commentating in this run. That guy does a FANTASTIC job no matter what the game is.
Blechy rocks. He's been with GDQ since the beginning. A lot of runners know all the tech, Blechy knows the tech and knows how to make it interesting.
Apart from saying it was a deathless run. Lol
ThePogger80 deathless means they don't abuse a death mechanic that let's you warp forward a bit
Most of the videos I've seen from this year have had fantastic commentary, esp the Halo 4 one.

I believe he meant deathless as in deaths that help him warp to other areas, that first death sent him back progress wise so I think that's why, also I don't think AGDQ does resets? Not sure
GDQ does not do resets unless something goes horribly wrong very very early. I think I've only seen one real reset in the 4 years I've seen. Most the time the runners have to power through it or use a premade save they made in case of crashes

Yeah I think that's correct. I have seen a reset in Castlevania 2 once because he softlocked the game during a shortcut, it was 10 minutes into the run and there's no way out of it, but yes I think GDQ doesn't do resets unless required. And it sounded from the commentators like "deathless" was a simplified way to label this category, they said technically it's "warpless" but idk the details.
AGDQ puts an emphasis on runs and commenters being entertaining, so, things aren't going be super strict.
Keizaron's reset in Animorphs in AGDQ 2016 was amazing, if you haven't seen it, you need to. Everything goes horribly wrong in the most amazing way.

I finally have an explanation for why the SUMUSS SSSSSS SSSSSS SSSSSS code puts you in Krain's land without the ball. If you've never used that code try it. There is a gigantic Ice beam shot coming from the gun as well.

A great way to revisit this game. You get the gist of it quickly and to be honest it's just too archaic for me to play anymore. I don't want to spend 10 minutes filling up health tanks every time I die.

Ian van Ingen it'll never happen. nintendo's robot lawyers that shoot bees out of their mouths would be sicced on the charity event and force them out of buisness. For the record, it disgusts me, AM2R was a much better remake of RoS than Samus Returns, and it deserves the light of day.
TheSVSexton I know, and i completely agree that samus returns is garbage shit compared to AM2R. But we had Super Metroid rotation hack and technicaly nintendo could just as easily take the event down for that.
Ian van Ingen I honestly think they're butt hurt that a group of dedicated fans outperformed them. It kind of reminds me of Miyamoto shitting on the donkey kong country trilogy because of its "graphics". It's obvious he was just bitter that they improved on every element he'd designed to that point in nearly every way.
TheSVSexton That's so true, i think if they'd hire DoctorM64s team and let them make 3DS port for AM2R nobody would have even noticed that is was made by an amateur developer team.
Ian van Ingen It's not the same, but some good did come from this. I believe the media exposure helped get DrM64 hired on to help develop the new Ori game in the works, so at least he has a bright future ahead of him with even bigger and better things to come.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Dev n No he's definitely referring to Rick and Morty. The runners name is a reference to Marty from back to the future and Morty is also a reference to Marty. The "my man" being repeated is in reference to one of the episodes (its also obvious by how he says it). Either way though, its fucking obnoxious.
