Oh cool i'm not the only person in 2018 that still listens to Incubus
IMO, Incubus is the most overlooked and underrated band of the last 25 years. They are the complete package.
something that often goes unappreciated is that DJ Kilmore's samples are often created by the band in the studio, recorded, pressed to vinyl, then sampled back into their songs.
I write this comment in 2023 shortly after watching Rick's latest Spotify top 10 video. God I miss chord progressions.
The "Make Yourself" album is imo a masterpiece. The mixing, the energy, the crazy dynamic and atmosphere changes Incubus had. Crazy good songwriting and singing. Front to back record for me
Lyrics are just always poignant
Great band. Mike Einziger was a totally original guitarist and I feel he's a bit underrated. Everyone in that band was top notch.
I feel like Incubus occupies a weird, slightly underrated space in 2000s music. This album and Morning View are probably two of my most played albums in my first car’s CD player, but for some reason they don’t jump off the page on “best of the decade” lists or anything. Really were a fantastic band though.
imagine bro analized "Just a Phase " by them 💀
Reading the comments and seeing everyone say "Awe, I wish it was
One of the most underrated bands of the 1990’s.
Rick, you should do “Dig”! Probably one of the best vocal performances I’ve heard in this genre! Great videos my man, thank you!
Only Incubus could make a hit single using that random chord progression!
Incubus is the band that made me want to become a rockstar growing up. They will always be one of my all time favorites.
The drummer Jose Pasrillas is so great on this entire album! His patterns can be complex, but tasteful simultaneously. (he's pretty underrated imo)
Incubus is stellar at doing fresh things with their music while still making it accessible to non-musicians and I love it so much
The drum stops are done in PRODUCTION??? MIND BLOWN! No wonder it feels so weird to play. Rick you are the best!
What makes this video great?
Carol looked nervous, then bossed the chorus like it was nothing
Incubus are a really interesting band on many levels. Another great choice Rick
