I think in the last clip you were able to pause the game. If you did so, you would have also noticed quickly, that the shadow guy does not care if the game is paused.
@@SwizzleDrizzl It's actually the same thing. It used to just fly around the map at speed so high it was impossible to spot it. 0.8 changed it's behaviour to mimic the door, making it the 4th Crashman.

For me personally it reminds me of a highly charged tesla orb in Space Station 13. As for what it actually is, I feel it could possibly be some sort of progenitor entity to the wisps.

So I got the shadow man super early i guess cause day like 5 or 6 maybe I was scanning for signals and I got those lines all on my screen then crashed. Never saw the shadow or anything and assumed I had a weird crash.
Not sure if the first part is related to .8 tbh I remember an event where it all got dark around me and floating eyes like that were just looking at me from the dark in .7

turn off shadows and volumetric lighting, that brings performance up a TON

No. Pitchblack darkness with floating high beam headlights is still in the game and can occure even on week 1. That was something different.
