Barry on falsetto lead three times
      falsetto high harmony three times
      falsetto low harmony three times
Barry on natural voice lead three times
      high harmony three times

The Gibb brothers. Barry, the eldest with the falsetto, twins Robin on the left and Maurice (pronounced Morris) on the right. Started making hits in the 1960s. Last single released in 2001, two years before Maurice died. Robin died in 2012. Only Barry left, he is 77 and still singing. They all had the falsetto voice, but it was usually Barry that sang it. There are hundreds of Bee Gee songs to react to. This song was released in 1978.

This was released in 1979, but The Bee Gees go back even further. Barry Gibb is the oldest son & his younger brothers, Maurice (pronounced Morris) & Robin were fraternal twins. The oldest Gibb child is their sister, Lesley, but she doesn't perform. They also had a baby brother, Andy (who was my favorite), that went on to have a very successful solo career. Andy died just a few days past his 30th birthday from Myocarditis (heart condition) which was exacerbated by years of drug use. Both twin brothers have also passed away, Maurice in 2003 & Robin in 2012. Barry is the last surviving Bee Gee & sister Lesley is still alive also.
Barry & the twins started performing as kids back in 1958. They gained fame in the 60's, but it wasn't until the 1970's when they started singing in their iconic falsetto tones & soon became the kings of disco genre. Their album 'Saturday Night Fever" was the soundtrack for the movie of the same name & stars a young John Travolta in the lead role. It is considered to be one of the best selling albums of all time (40+ million sold).
They continued to write & perform into the early 2000's. They have written numerous songs, both for themselves & for other singers. They were inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 1994. Then they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
You've likely heard their songs before, but just didn't realize it was them. Staying Alive, Night Fever, How deep is your love, You should be dancing, Tragedy, & More than a woman are just some of their more well known songs, but they have a whole library of great music...

Just to add a few more details. The Gibbs are British but raised in Australia and Barry currently lives in Florida. I saw this in a documentary so I don’t remember the city but I think it was Chicago. There was a DJ who hate Disco and because the BeeGees had numerous hit from the album and movie Saturday Night Fever this DJ went after them. There was a concert and they ask attendees to bring a disco album because they were going to destroy them with a bond fire. The years following the BeeGees wrote hit songs for other artists. BTW the song your listening to at a school dance would have been played to slow dance to. Some of the best music wrote and sang in the 70’s is by the BeeGees.

I'd had no idea they'd recorded a bunch of music down in their normal vocal range; I'd only ever heard the high falsetto singing they're known for. (That's the "uniqueness" you mentioned. The brothers had very bright, extremely nasal falsettos, but such good control that it didn't turn screechy.) Their earlier stuff sounded like classic rock/folk rock with normal voices, quite good stuff. It's a completely different sound!

Bee Gees donated royalties of "Too much heaven" for UNICEF in January 9, 1979
It was in a special concert at United Nations in US
with ten artist who also donated royalties of a song:
british: Bee Gees, Andy Gibb, Rod Stewart, Olivia Newton John
north americans: Rira Coolidge, John Denver, Kris Kristoffersin, Donna Summer, Earth Wind & Fire
and only one no English speaker:
    the swedish quartet ABBA
That night ABBA premiered their song "Chiquitita"
    which was an extraordinary success,
especially in Latin American countries like mine, Argentina, in South America.
ABBA is a quartet basically made up of two musicians, composers and backup singers, and two female lead singers, who in the beginning were also couples.
ABBA has around 20 world hits between 1974/1982,
their first hit was "Waterloo" exactly 50 years ago
    and their biggest hit is "Dancing Queen";
and after almost 40 years they recorded again and released a new album "Voyage" in 2021
Just as the Bee Gees are masters of vocal harmonies,
so is ABBA, privileging its female voices
That's why it's my suggestion that you react to "Chiquitita"
contemporary song from "Too much heaven"
I hope to see you soon with ABBA

Gen Z I'm Gen X.. Bee Gee's were a little before my time but I love their music. They were amazing with their sibling harmonies.. just beautiful and Barry's falsetto voice.. crazy. Any song you listen to from the Bee Gee's will blow you away.. they wrote so many hits in the 60's, 70's and 80's

The Bee Gees is one of the greatest bands ever. Right up there with the Beatles. You are lucky enough to have fallen down a huge rabbit whole. The Bee Gees have been singing together since they were kids. Barry ( the one in tbe middle ) was around 9 years old, and Ronin (the one on the left ) and Mourice thee one on the right ) are twins and they were around 6. They became famous in the early to middle 60's. They dont always sing in falsetto (high pitch voices ) they sing in lower voices sometimes . Try some of their other songs like I Got To Get A Message To You, or To Love Somebody, or many more from the 69's. Or Nights On Broadway,, or Staying Alive or You should Be Dansing or many more from the 70' # or You Win Again, and For Whom The Bell Tolls from the 80's 90' s? Or Alone, or This Is Where I Came In from the 2000's. Thats only a drop in the bucket of the songs they have, witch they were all written by them as they did all their songs. They also wrote songs for other famous singers too many to mention. Oh I forget to tell you they are brothers. Haven't heard a bad song yet, and I've been around a long time.

The Bee Gees (Brothers Gibb) started singing together as kids in the late 1950’s. Their recording career spans 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and early 2000s when Maurice died in 2003.Inducted into both the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, rose to superstardom during the mid 70s with their collaboration with other soul, funk and rhythm and blues artists on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack during the height of the disco era.

Picture this... you are on a date, a really nice date, and you have dinner while listening to the Bee Gees. Is there anything more romantic? This music is from my generation. The whole world was similar to this music. So much easier to live life back then. We were totally cool! We had the BEST music, and NO generation will ever beat our music! We had self respect, we dressed well, we knew what our gender was, we weren't bringing guns to school and shooting our teachers and friends. Such an idea would never cross our minds. We got along well with one another, we helped one another, we were good people. The best.

Barry is using his voice like the instrument it can be. This was my era growing up and I call it the feel good era of music because it just fills you with pure joy. There are sooooo many great songs and UNIQUE artists from this era. Genuine talent, no BS. When I wanna listen to music in it's purest, raw element I go back, sometimes way BACK but the 70's will always be my favorite era of music.
There were FOUR Gibb brother's in this family, ALL blessed with the voices of angels. That is RARE.

He wrote many top 100 hits even one year he had back-to-back to back summer #1's. He didn't sing them all, he wrote for others.
Today he is the last Gibb. Married to his Miss Australia sweetheart, Linda, for 54 years!!!!

The Bee Gees rabbit hole will show you what pure talent and creative musical genius really is all about! They have written, produced and/or performed over 1000 songs with over 100 of them in the Top 10. Check out " Fanny (be tender with my love)," " More than a woman," " Love you inside and out," and " How deep is your love," getting you off to a good start. Their creative genius was recognized but not nearly appreciated as much as it should have been! They most definitely deserve rank, with Mj, Elvis ,The Beatles, etc., I'm certain you won't be disappointed with the music you're about to discover!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Bee Gee's stands for "The Brother's Gibb," their last name being "Gibb" obviously. I agree with you. I think the older music had much more feeling and you could sing and dance to it. I find older music (generally) much more enjoyable to listen to.
