I dont get it why people hate on Metallica.. Yeah they are past their prime but its still fun to listen too... Sometimes you dont need really inventive music, sometimes you just anna headbang and move around a bit... Their new albums do have flaws I dont say they are perfect, but there are some fun tracks and I love that they are 60 years old and they are still going, my favorite of the new tracks is Lux Aeterna its just GOES.
Most modern metal is generic as fuck, its boring and derivitive. Even Drew said it himself, a lot of it has processed vocals because they cant cut it live. And dont get me started on all the bullshit woke politics these core bands all get caught up in. It's sad and pathetic and its not even metal, its glorified pop with cookie cutter growls.
All the meantime giving respect to the core of metal which many of the bands would not exist if not for Metallica. That said, yes. I agree. It is cringe AF. Plus lame to hate on anything like this. It is like hating on their Load/St Anger stuff or hating on Nickelback on Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park - just for the sake/fashion/peer aspect of it? @ghostfacekurdkillah4147
Appreciate the look back into the OG Old School, m'chara! Been a fan of Metallica since '94 and I still eagerly anticipate everything they do. If they are in Èire again, get yerself to it. Anyone into any metal really, should see them at some point. I think the 72S album itself has some very strong moments that in particular are tearing it up live with the classics live. It overall is too long in places, could do with some editing, extra dynamics in some o'the songs. But Im happy enuff with it anyway.
There is one thing I would like to remind you of, that is this. These guys are 60 years old on average in age! Doing this....still. Also touring! I hope you are as spritely at that age...lol
You gotta hear the new Knosis track “Yakusai”. They call it “experimental metalcore” and buster is involved. It is extremely awesome 🙏💯 Love your videos keep it up
My first listen, I was dissapointed. I heard little or no range, dynamic or diverse character in the songs. They all sounded the same, I couldnt tell most of them apart. But, I knew and hoped that would change. And it did.👍 Listen by listen, it started to slot in, especially when I singled out the songs separatly, rather than all at once together. Its one of the only Metallica albums that, really took its time to grow o me like that. I agree with ya- Its overall too long. Some songs need to be edited, especially "You must Burn". Also, Kirks soloing is way too familiar and repeatative. He overuses the same licks that make the songs too samey. Some clean tone parts would have added more character to the tracks aswell. But, overall the content is strong- Chasing Light, Room of Mirrors, Inemorata, Screaming Suicide. Excellent. 👍
@@kylereece1979 agreed, though I actually really dig You Must Burn. I also think with different sound production, this would be one of their heaviest albums
@@GriffRunning Yeah- the guitar tone is a bit too light, crisp. I love the reimaginings on YT here then, that give the songs a retro sound. For instance, "If Screaming Suicide was on Ride the Lightning". The song rerecorded with ...Lightning's sound by an uploader. Brilliant! And- if you key in "Chasing Light Ride the Lightning AI", youll get a genuine stunning rework. The uploader rerecorded the song in the vein of Ride the Lightning, with ideas and attacks that genuinely make it sound like its if that era. But the AI '84 Hetfield vocals are truely stunning! It honestly sounds like some unearthed song from the MetallicA vault. Frightningly good and real.

Yo, Drew! If you haven’t already you should listen to The Fear of Fear by Hollow Front. My expectations were blown away! Seems right up your alley
That Black Eyed Peas shit caught me off guard lol😂
React to “Room of Mirrors”…..one of the best four songs on the album ( in my eyes the best) 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Did you choose a "turkey-cut"? 😭
The last section was so unnecessary...like why!?
Lo ascolto dalla sua uscita,lo trovo più orecchiabile e meno stancante di Hardwired,di cui ricordo solo Halo on fire.
You're missing out, go to INAMORATA as soon as you can, and ill be there!
Drew pleeeeeaseee REACT A ELEPHANT BY THE JYNXS! Brazilian Band 🇧🇷
My band!!
i understand your yardstick is from the 80s… but they have evolved a lot.
The only real issue with this album is that every song is about 2 minutes too long. If they’d edit a bit, this album would be a 9/10.
Exactly what I said in the full review man - wouldn’t say a 9/10 but it would definitely make the album feel a lot less repetitive
@@DrewFortune97 it’s a Metallica 9/10. We grade on a scale lol
