Nope. Just the same lackluster people who enjoy shallow entertainment.
People with any sense of artistic appreciation know this show isn’t good.
I mean, maybe the actors aren’t the whole problem, bad writing can make anyone look bad.

I'm gonna take this moment to say how much I love these actors. Their acting was excellent in the series, this interview is delightful, and, as a lifelong fan raised on the LoTR books and movies, I love the new show. I'm glad to see some non-hateful comments here, but man are there a LOT of hateful, miserable people in here so I wanted to add my voice to the positive side.

I don't understand where the hate comes from, I liked this series. I just assumed maybe it's because I have not read the LOTR books, I've only seen the films. But honestly I perferred ROP over House of Dragons. I feel more invested in the ROP characters and friendships, which makes the climatic moments better. That moment between Nori and the stranger was my favorite moment. I loved ALL the friendships and yes, the acting was excellent. There were some new series I was disappointed with, but this is not one of them.

Tolkien simply gave us his beloved languages, that developed in a diverse, culturally rich world that is unlike ours. One of his making, describing the nature he loved and one in which magic is steadily fading.
Then he wrote a story into this world he developed until his death.
No politics, no hidden messages, no allegories, it's timeless.
He did not even expect others to share his interest and was proven wrong when his books were published.
It shows courage and cowardliness, honesty and deceit, prejudice and open-mindedness, life and death, mistrust of strangers finally leading to cooperation, hope yet no certainty, etc.
All universal concepts in a setting that isn't our modern world or even a 1:1 representation of our past.
It simply is HIS and it should not be disrespected by people claiming to know better/ to be able to "fix" Tolkien's Middle Earth so that it can be like ours.
They don't even care about his story, only how they can use a semblance of it for their agenda, their messages crammed into his independent world to highlight and to influence opinions about the real world.
    It's not wanted or needed!
And when we say exactly that, they use stigmas to belittle our opinions and paint us as small-minded bigots.
They ridicule that we care about a literary masterpiece to such an extent, (tell us to get a life and basically to stop caring about it at all, because it isn't real, it doesn't matter what they do to it)
Instead of listening to our criticism about how they misrepresent and change things that are not necessary, they say we aren't welcome in the fandom anymore.
They are drawing lines to defend a story that isn't Tolkien and claim it's the new "fixed" Tolkien that's open to all....and don't see the irony of that statement, don't mention they mean open to everyone that agrees with their methods.
Someone who does not like it, for whatever reason, is apparently against them and therefore on some level X-phobic/-ist, etc
His story was already translated to dozens of languages, well received all over the world, simply appreciated for what it is.
Now they are trying to claim it wasn't so and that they are the only ones able to do make that happen.
That some people could not truly enjoy it before because of the creator of the entire world and story.
It's sad...and I will never complain about the Tolkien estate not selling rights to his works ever again

While it may be easy to assume the same peaple watching LOTR are some people watching GoT, not saying thiers not some cross over. But there is definitely some sexist elements to so of the backlash. Not all mind you but I've seen enough vids claiming the men are weak because out of the female characters is written to be very assertive. Ignore that that assertiveness is not just a strength but a flaw as well. But not everyone will like everything.
But one the one Crutches RoP has that GoT doesn't is the Preconception of character portrayed oh another medium , the LoTR moves and Hobbit.. There is some pedestal worshiping going on with the Jackson franchise with some viewer. But if your not finding enjoyment is this respect but some of us are and for some context I've grown up with Tolkien influence in my family for over 40 years and I'm loving the exploration of this new world. But even the Original GoT did not start out awesome first three eps set up a lot . It wasn't till the 4th ep that it really started to shine. Orville was similar.

@@trailersfromhell2539 ah so are you Implying that at women standing up for what she believes in is some how masculine? I'm not saying that to bait you or as a dig, but as a honest question. Because that is what you are kinda implying intentionally or unintentionally. That like saying empathy is a feminine trait. Your statement is a stereotype friend. Or maybe your implying she's masculine because she's good with a sword. History proves to wrong there to to from the Celt's to the Japanese, French and more than one English Queen.
So I believe you are mistaken to to imply assertiveness is a "masculine". It a human trait that even the older Galadriel had as shown in the Peter Jackson movies. The difference between the two it the older Galadriel no longer needed to prove her self and had laid down her sword. In the third age she had grown powerful enough that she no longer needed as sword.
Now as far as the second paragraph, my apologies auto correct, I did go back and fix it.

    • @trailersfromhell2539
      @trailersfromhell2539 Год назад

@@Branfaol1 It depends on what she stands up for, and in what way she chooses to stand up for it. If it's physical and combative, that's masculine. History does not prove me wrong. 99.9% of all warriors through time have been male. Your joan of arc exceptions to the rule does not negate the rule. Empathy is a feminine trait. It always has been.
Btw, that a supposed warrior no longer has to prove himself to be a warrior, does not mean he puts down the sword.

@@Branfaol1 you can have assertive females without being an annoying and obnoxious twat. Daenerys (season 1-6) is a fine example.
But instead they took example from Rey (totally not) Skywalker and CW'S Batwoman
Which is mind-boggling because unlike Rey, Galadriel isn't an original chatacter, her blueprint is already written by Tolkien himself and all the writers gotta do is make sure she is the same character

The fact that the Amazon writers are trying to make ROP woke is hilarious, because they’re doing a horrible job at it. Take Galadriel for example. In the books, Galadriel is so powerful that she's like a one-woman army, and she's also extremely wise and powerful.
However, the Amazon writers have turned her into having nothing but traits of toxic masculinity, and has made her a self-absorbed Karin who doesn't care about anyone except herself. Consequently-like most Karens, you cant take them serious, and you just have to laugh 🤣
