As a comparison, Hawaii is an island state with about 4 million fewer people than New Zealand yet has pretty much the same amount of deaths as NZ (and a much higher infection rate). Iceland has a population of only 360,000 and has more infections than NZ which has a population of 5 million. What NZ has managed to do is pretty amazing and should be a model for everyone else.

As a kiwi, I can honestly say, she has done a magnificent job thru this pandemic. She has been honest, concise, and empathetic, no bs, no fluffing around. So, she decided to put politics and profits to one side, and to go hard, and go early. As a nation whos economy is based on tourism, we all knew from the get go, this was gonna hurt. We would lose jobs, but we would save lives. And here we are, 76 days later, Covid free. Thanx PM. We are also still getting cases as we are opening our borders to civilians but its under militirised quarantine and isolation now since people kept leaving without any tests being done and noone would care. Also just announced on tv last night 5 people escaped, 4 have been found but theres a person on the loose who could have the virus, so maybe another rise is gonna happen, who knows.

In the United States, people threat covid as if it's gone simply because the lock down ended. I have nothing but respect for the prime minister for acknowledging that although there's little to none cases in New Zealand, covid is an on going threat and that they are not immune from the rest of the world stating that this victory is an maintained effort. Make it possible for people in there mid to late 20s be able to hold a position in the cabinet. Then for the older people, they should be removed from office at the age of 55 or 60 and not be able to run but instead endorse.

Congratulating her people and setting realistic expectations. She also indicated in other clips that they are ready for when cases pop up again: protective equipment, testing, tracking, etc. And they'll likely have more meds in place to deal w/the minor covid cases, so they can recover at home and ease up on the hospitals. These are all things that a real leader does.

No new community transmission cases in NZ. The 2 cases are from two women who traveled to New Zealand from the UK where they contracted the virus.
For God's sake please learn to appreciate for once in life rather than pointing out on loop holes. Their government did a fantastic job. They had a very well organised lockdown unlike India's failed lockdown. Also, no one has control over this virus. 2-3 cases in a day is not a big thing.
Also they are still very cautious. They are regularly monitoring trade and tourism, and she said that they're going to see more cases, but they'll handle them. Also, if you're calling this bad management then Modi surely did a big blunder
The way she dealt with the mosque shooting makes me believe she is a great leader! I didn’t even know who she was until she said” this is New Zealand’s darkest day” but now like a year later she still shows how great of person she is just look at her smile ❤️
