My wife and I were there at Eden Park watching the game and cheering the Black Ferns. One of the best games of rugby I have enjoyed for many years. This was a clash of styles .. the powerhouse English forwards with their driving maul against the Black Ferns attack from anywhere mentality. The English rolling maul was formidable and so was the Black Ferns attacking game. The try by Stacey Fluhler straight after half time was to me the try of the tournament and embodied the BF's gameplan. In the end it came down to a lost lineout and the BF's won for the 6th time. It was such an amazing feeling when as a New Zealand supporter it looked all was lost as England threw the last lineout only to lose it at the end. A great game by both teams and a great advertisement for women's sport worldwide. Long may it continue. Edit - just a comment on the red card. Although it was accidental it was a late tackle head on head and it knocked out one of our best players in Portia Woodman. She remembers nothing of the game which shows you the other side of what concussion can do. As far as our yellow card and why it wasn't red .. the tackle was always at shoulder level and rose higher to the head which was identified by the ref and TMO. Excellent reffing at the highest level 👌.

I don't think many are arguing head-on-head has a place anywhere in the game and as such I think the yellow should have been red, too, not mitigated to yellow. (and not that it matters but I'm a kiwi and black ferns supporter for many years).
And of course Lydia was given a red for a high tackle on Woodman. How could it be a high tackle ? Woodman did not have the ball, if Lydia had attempted any tackle on Woodman then it would have been a offence. What it was was a collision 💥 of the ball, with a clash of heads, Lydia could not duck her head as if she was tackling because she wasn't tackling, and the question is if Woodman did not have the ball then why did she run right into Lydia ? playing for a red.

Stacey is a country girl brought up riding horses bareback in Ruatoki. Riding horses bareback naturally makes you fit and hard. Horse riding muscles click in especially in the legs. Its not a wonder then she runs like the wind. Give credit to the horses she rode they helped the muscles in her legs / body develop to enable her to be a classy rugby player. Ataahua.

Wow...I had no idea that England were 14 players for almost all of it. Great effort by them and good game by both. Thanks for the highlights.
that's what happens when you just use ya 8 forwards...
Took out our tryscoring machine.
That’s the reason why Rugby is our national pastime - it’s for all of us
I'm not interested in Rugby, but this Match is insane. Absolutely worth seeing every minute.
It's just such a great spectacle for everyone.
watching the game many times..
what a game..so intense.
black ferns fan here from Philippines
attacking a line on the 80th minute 👏👏well done black ferns
Watched in the morning from Scotland. One of my favorite rugby games I've ever watched. Proud to be kiwi
Wow!! What a brilliant game of rugby from both teams👌👌👌👍
👑
One of the great games of rugby. Still so happy for those women.
As a Welshman i have to say gutted for the English Girls but what a cracking game of Rugby
What a true loyal English lapdog you are - commiserations on *YOUR* country's loss (nah, just kidding!).
Biodh do cheann làn de mhillean cuileag!
Wasn't it a Battle to see 👍🏼...these Women are Athletes at the Highest Level ...WARRIORS💪🏆🏟️
Those highlights remembering all that got us excited 😂
Stacey try was magnificent 03:45 👌, her face says it all!!❤✨ 🇳🇿 And!!! Stacey again making the play at 05:15. Brilliant stuff
End of the World TRY consider the context of the game we were behind then BOOM right after half time
Stacey is a country girl brought up riding horses bareback in Ruatoki. Riding horses bareback naturally makes you fit and hard. Horse riding muscles click in especially in the legs. Its not a wonder then she runs like the wind. Give credit to the horses she rode they helped the muscles in her legs / body develop to enable her to be a classy rugby player. Ataahua.
@@casshendry many thanks, great info comment comment 👍👌
@@casshendry got the meke skills too bro...
Awesome NZ. We truly shined tonight. Just embrace that crowd. Biggest crowd ever for women across all sports in history. Women commentators. RWC winners. Kia ora to that one cuzzy 😍👍

It cud hv been France but for the last 90 secs.. it cud hv been England but for the last 90 secs. One of the best Semis in World Rugby against France and definitely one of the best final against England. Black Ferns totally deserved it. A great team that has the believed and the mentality that they are going to be the champion. Happy for the Black Ferns. My choice for best players in the Black Ferns are the captain Ruahei, Stacey Fluhler and Maia Roos.
Mine is Sarah *Terminator* Hirini her work rate is unreal, much the same in 2017 W.C Final she's a female version of Richie McCaw and lifts on the big occasions.
But yes Stacey, Ruahe, Maia and many more were totally unreal!
The hole team ad coach and his coaching team 🎉🎉
Women's rugby world cup is worth it to watch 💯💯👌💯👌
Congratulations black ferns.
What a great game. Love close games.
Will from now om start watching.
its 2023 still best game ever, just so great..
as good as anything you could see in the mens game .. This was one of the greatest games of Rugby ever
Gutted for the Roses 🌹 but super proud of them a girl down for 63 mins and still take the game to the ferns.
Congratulations Ferns will miss Stacey's smile until next time.
if it wasnt for the red card, the result would most likely have been different, the ferns punished England with a player short
It's a real pity about the red card. I doesn't look like the ref had any choice but it made life a little easier for the ferns.
@@dunxx906 nah England over hyped
@@booey28 how are they kid, England was smashing them 14-0 up till the red card and we still almost beat you, if England didn't have a red then we would of smashed nz with ezzz so stop being bias
@@JayJayH3424 The red card didn't make a difference since England never use their wingers anyway.
Well you can't beat the black! I'm so proud all new Zealand girls. 🇳🇿
Great game black ferns , had me on the edge of my crane seat all game ..
This was one of the best finals ever in Rugby History, and watching this game from home back in Auckland, it was electric.
This game has raised the profile of women's rugby and congratulations to the Black Ferns for achieving what many saw as being the impossible, England were in it to the last seconds but just couldn't quite make it over the line
Can't stop watching
Gratz to the Lady Ferns, this match was amazing !
Beautiful to watch. The Heathen quelled. Thank you Smithy and the Squad.
What passion ! Amazing from both teams but at Eden Park it is close to impossible to beat any of the New Zealand rugby teams !
FROM RAGS TO RICHES.......THE NEW ZEALAND WOMENS RUGBY BLACK FERNS TEAM ......WHAT A SUCCESS STORY💖💖💖
They are so rich in team dominance.
Absolutely outstanding performance 👏 by NZ .
Absolutely fantastic Ladies Rugby World Cup!!! Hopefully next World Cup they have a trophy worthy of the level of play the ladies have! That small plastic beer mug was a shame!
Wow.....wat a game / wat a final - tough for England- they played great - them last 2 NZ trys - wow
What a show they put on ❤🎉
Fuller , player of the cup final.
One of the greatest moment in New Zealand’s sporting history
"Stacey fluelah" ,man!what a performance , unbelievable talent, player of the day
She was one of several. I am a Black Ferns fan and I rate Amy Cokayne as a player of the day in that game too. She scored 3 awesome tries off the back of perfect mauls. Bloody awesome to be fair.
@@casshendry yes thank God that type of *boring* one dimensional rugby didn't win the W.C. I'm so happy *running rugby* with a smile won over the ugly rolling maul.
Possibly the best finals rugby match ever!
Our black ferns are world champions again woohoo congratulations to you all

Congratulations Black Ferns on the win for the women's rugby world cup.Right down to the end, could have gone the other way,if not won that last lineout. And would have won by few more,if not missed so many goal kicks.⬛🏴👍👏🏴
same with the french match - either way - but it was the BFs time to shine in 2022 at home
Incredible, well done to the black ferns
Very 1st women's world cup in NZ and we nailed it 🏆well done NZ for backing black 🖤 it worked👊
Congratulations Black Ferns - was rooting for you. Greetings from South-Africa
Maybe bokke can learn how to run with ball in backline from these 2 teams..what a game!!!
Listen to the crowd!!!!!!!!!
LETS GO NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿!!!
Still trying to recover...absolutely awesome game
13 NZ what a star
Stacey Fluhler. The call her the Smiling Assassin - you can see why.
When you watch it from that angle she deserved that red. That was deliberate from that angle.
Really..???

I’m waiting for a doco…..from the disaster of 2021 in the uk….to the finale of the World Cup
What a telling and riveting story that will be……
One of the greatest comebacks I’ve ever witnessed in my 53 years of rugby…….ever
Credit to the ENG girls…..who knows what the end would’ve been with all 15 still on field?!….but that’s the way the cookie crumbles and that’s just sports!!
Proud moment for all NZLDERS but especially our girls and women’s rugby in general!!
One of the Great Games of our time
