This is informative and very inspiring Grayson!
I saw an SP600 chassis in your pictures, and I will never forget what it looks like as I completely rebuilt it. It's the best receiver I've ever owned, and I still have it!
Hi i love this video i am a ham from the uk ,my father introduced me to the thermotron back in the late 70s its an earthly thing with light colour smell and heat a warm freind that is so much stronger than modern ss electronics , thank you very much M0gzv
Fabulous material Grayson! It sure takes ole-timers like me back to younger days, complete with burnt fingers and plate-voltage tingles. There's only one thing missing... motor-generators like the ones that powered old AN/ARC radios. A proper boy's ham shack isn't complete without the whine of the recycled military surplus motor-generators and AN/ARC (thermatron) radios.. THANKS, and we'll keep looking for more from you.
Thank you Grayson and Bill. Great video! 73, Michael N4MJR
My step father built 2 way radio for the loacal bobbies in the 50s in a small Tin box ,with a telephone hand set two acorn valves and vhf 100 mhz super regen modulator audio amp
Terrific! Lots of good ideas. Hope we see more!
Hi Grayson, I like thermatrons since I was younger from the 60's - 73 de IV3GFN - Pino
TNX Grayson...I have a autographed copy of the 2nd edition you signed for me at Dayton at FDIM 2016 I think (passed my 1st edition on to a deserving ham!). Maybe CU there this year with our first time back since then. 73 - Dino KLØS
