I was sobbing . Bless you who ever you are as. My dad was exceptional . I saw him cry when his mum died He put on a tough front but he loved his girls and my beautiful mother who he met at a dance .
Thank you Donald. I usually don't respond to comments only because there are so many, but your comment touched me. Many times people (and especially women) think that men aren't sensitive and often it is a misconception. We feel deeply. We love deeply, And my song was about just such a love. Love is universal. Our need for one another is universal. Thank you for "being" what this song is about you. Bless you my friend. km
Love your song and the lyrics Kim. Would you help a Yank in the USA who grew up with the 1959 movie, "On the Beach" version of the song with different lyrics? Your story touched my heart and soul. My WWII Dad passed last year at age 97. Your have created a soundtrack for everyone to make the transition from our physical lives to our spiritual ones. May God bless you, and all of us with Eternal Life, Love and Light.
Do you know how similar our stories of two parents do in love but where did they meet ? Well my dad was self taught everything , Fox Troy , waltz , my mother was breathtakingly beautiful , from family of 10 boys , 4 girls the boys teased her . Filmy ( she looked like a movie star ) Anyway he my dad had his airforce uniform on , and a quirky , cheeky red head , quiet short but mum told me 'oh andMerrilyn , it was the uniform that won me over ' I love men , I love men in suits ... They called dad ,Bluey , bright red hair ...... well they were so opposite but so beautifully right and because of dad's gift to whiz women around dance floor , mum told me she got jealous . I said Mum , but think about it , who gets to go home with Bluey ' she giggled and she and I would sing Tennessee waltz , I was dancing with my darling .., to the .. waltz , when an old friend I introduced her to my loved one ..... that old friend steals his heart ..... you would know it ..... They died 14 , 12 years ago Only after they go do you really reflect and conclude so much about their amazing qualities ... see their relationship ... mum held our family together , firm but dad the life of the party . Another song 'Can I have this dance for the rest of My Life ' That is beautiful and she loved that I played 'dance with my father again ' Luther Vand Ross at dad's funeral It was perfect I miss them so much as life has bern hard and my sister and I not close .... divorced .... however. Reading your story ? I started sobbing as one night playing Tennessee Waltz , I looked at their photos I grabbed paper' Mum . There was never a chance that Bluwy would be lost to an old friend as it was you in his heart for always and I say that mum with certainty . I love writing so oergaks a short story like yours would be honouring their first meeting At a small country town hall 'dance ' Thank you You remind me of me and I love waltzing Mathilda hrs my country but it's catchy and I send love to you . Any family and know that I really read every single word and can feel your parents presence right now . From down under The sentimental one With ❤
