If you just buy a used Xbox one for like a hundred bucks at game stop or ebay. yall would have access to much more games since gta 4 is backwards compatible. I recommend doing it if you play games a lot there’s really no reason not to its worth it. I got an Xbox one on eBay for 90 bucks and I just finished playing through gta 4 for the first time

He starts off in one of the nicest houses in the game and a family he can't stand, so he genuinely has nowhere else to go except down. And then he gets his family AND his house back anyway, so it's less of an arc and more of a circle. You really have no freedom in how you play or what you can do with the characters.

GTA IV did tell a hard story. Regardless of ending. No mansion. No sports car. No condos. No girlfriends. It's just life. No-one makes it out any better.
I liked that the game basically makes you think that revenge isn't the way, especially after Niko finds who betrayed him and his friends during the war. You inevitably choose to spare Dimitri just for Niko to be pushed toward the life of an avenger once again.

Niko is one of the few GTA protagonists with real charactor development. In GTA 5 only michael has it.
I think Franklin had a decent amount of character development as well, it was just more subtle than fighting for his family back
