I just bought one of these and used it for an October night in Edale with torrential overnight rain. All dry and cosy inside. It's fine for one, no chance for two people. I'm going to combine it with a tarp next time to provide some extra covered external space. My first OEX. Impressed. Great tent, especially for just £67. The new ones now have sown in loops for tying the fly to which allow it to be left attached to the inner should one choose.
I have the same tent and I cant fault it. I modified mine, (non-destructive) to allow the flysheet to remain attached to the inner tent. This makes pitching in bad weather or limited light situations easier. Basically I tied a couple of loops at the end of two pieces of paracord, measuring the same distance between the flysheet ties. I threaded the paracords through the pole sleeves of the inner tent (front and rear) and tied the fly sheet to the paracord loops with the ties. During pitching, the poles are passed through the loop, then the pole sleeve and through the other loop. It works perfectly both for pitching and packing up. 👍
Hi Phil, looking at getting this tent tomorrow. Seen a few videos and figured I could probably fiddle it so the outter cover goes up at the same time. Hadn't really thought of how to do it yet, but like your idea. Would you be able to send me some photos? Or a little video?

brought this for bike pack packing last year, perfect for my need, went for the 2 man version glad i did it gives you so much room, it does pack small if you fold it correctly.
You do realise .when your tent is up and full of sleeping bags ,mats etc your once full ruck sack is now empty and easy to squash into the vestibule or down the bottom of the inner tent .
Great review. I have found it’s a bit of a stretch to get the poles in if you have already put any pegs in the ground. My tip is fit the poles first and then peg the two head end corners down. After that, stretch out the base and peg the foot end corners. After that, it’s easy. There is something not quite perfect with the geometry so you can’t get the fly tight in all directions so not sure how important this would be in wet weather. I have only used mine in dry weather so far.
Great tent this is the new version ..ally pole atatchments ( feet) 5000 mm of water in 24 hours , always buy a 2 man tent even solo . Just for gear cameras etc . I bought mine by accident / left mina at home , had to buy this rapidly , its awesome in rain wind -4° i had 3 packs of fx pro camera gear . Awesome decent vestibule sizes ...better than vango
Great tent bought mine just before lock down, perfect for bushcraft camping but may be a little on the heavy side for long trekking for some ! Personally I am not too worried about the weight, est 69 quid I spent on a tent , great mid ranger .. God bless... lee

OEX is a Go Outdoors own brand. Go was bought by the JD Group who also own Millets, Blacks and a few others, which is why you’ll see OEX at these other stores. As an own brand it sets it’s own RRP. Thus the “discounted” selling price is more the market value of the tent.
I’ve also noticed that once OEX items go out of stock they get discontinued. Happened with a few products recently. Luckily I got this tent just previous to this happening

I've used it in very heavy rain and it's stayed dry so thumbs up from me!
