I am a firm believer of throwing away mascara every time the season changes. Good advice, Dominique. Blessings, and quick healing..MaryEllen
MaryEllen After 60 - it should be replaced every three months
Throw it away and don’t ever share!
@@yolilopez1992 I agree 100%. I only have one tube of mascara open at a time for this very reason, Yoli.
I'm going to do this with the change of seasons. I already change my toothbrush, descale the coffee maker, switch out the baking soda in the fridge and freezer, and check batteries in smoke detectors. Thanks for sharing.
mascara I kept for too long did it for me. first time I ever had one and first time I ever kept mascara that long
And change your towels and pillow cases frequently.
Thanks for just "doing Life" with us, Dominique! I so appreciate how real you are. Praying for a speedy recovery!
I'm a retired RN married to an ophthalmologist. Worked in the field many many years. Ophthalmologist recommends Q tip with Baby Shampoo gently scrub lid margins along lash line, then warm moist pack. Do a minumum of twice a day...more often is better. A bit of pressure on the "bump" will help open the plugged gland. This is a lid infection NOT an eye infection. If you catch it early and are diligent in the mechanical cleaning and warm moist packs it should resolve. Several times a day is optimal. No makeup is best until resolved. If the sty harde.ns and will not open on its own....opthakmogist will need to open and clean the area of the hardened infected fluid. This is done in the office and is not pleasant. Not optimal as it damages that gland (which responsible for lubricating the eye). TMI..🙂 GOOD LUCK!
Awesome info
It works every time!
I’ve been doing that for years as I have blepharitis and it really helps and is much cheaper than OcuSoft. I use them when I’m travelling. I also have a foam dispenser filled with baby shampoo and rose water which I use as a quick eye wash as I mostly don’t wear heavy makeup. It wipes away light eye makeup.
Thank you!
So sorry this happened to you Dominique! Thank you for the valuable information. Yes, I've had those eye issues as well so I will definitely keep your useful tips on hand. Here's to your speedy recovery ❤️
Hi Dominique, So sorry to hear about your sty and eye infection. After several eye infections I realized I hadn’t been cleaning my twist up tight liner pencils often enough ...usually every 4-5 days. Now I do it daily, just saturate a round cleansing pad with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and gently drag the tip of the eyeliner pencil across the pad and let it dry a couple minutes. Also found that MSM sterile drops clear up conjunctivitis. Warm tea bags are amazing for styles. Wonderful informative video. Love and hugs...Sherry

Thank you for making a video about this, Dominique! So sorry you had to go through this but great reminder to keep make up brushes clean and toss old makeup. Great scoop! Thanks. Take care! 🤗👍
In the past I have had stys and this is my favorite remedy -an egg. The egg is the perfect hot compress to due its shape and the ability to hold heat. It is also reusable. Wash the egg well and start to boil it until it reaches hard boil stage. Remove from water. Once it cools down enough that it is comfortable to hold then use it as a compress. It can be refrigerated and reheated to use again. After two or three uses I throw it out. I have passed this tip along to many friends and family members who also thought it was an effective treatment.
Sorry to hear about your eye infection. Feel better 😘
I just had one on my lower lash line... Crazy that you're bringing this up..
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate learning from you.
Really helpful video!
Thanks for the information. I will be cleaning my brushes today. Hope the eye is better.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been dealing with this very issue this week. The information you shared was very helpful!
Ouch! Speedy recovery lady. XO
Just shows how easy infections can start. I will try the heat eye mask as I have dry eye, the drops I use are not greatly helpful. You’re channel is so very helpful. Thank you.
I'm very blessed to be a subscriber for years. As with all you offer, this information is invaluable. I recently purchased a new eyeliner from Sephora, been using this particular designer brand for years, lo and behold, developed an allergic conjunctivitis. It's very unpleasant especially the downtime it takes in order to start using makeup
I hope you will have complete healing very soon.
Thank you for the tips on stye care.
Really great information, Dominique. Looks like you're on the road to recovery, thank goodness! One of my granddaughters gets these occasionally, so I will give this information to her mother. Looking forward to the next video on cleaning our brushes, etc.
Thank you so much for your videos. As a 62 year old, I appreciate your honest reviews and experiences. I’m not dead yet and love make-up and skin care products. You’ve introduced me to so many options. Thanks!
Oh my Dominique I am dealing with this right now. I had one in each eye! One is gone but I’m still dealing with the most stubborn one. The warm compresses have helped but you’re right the itching is so unbearable. Thank you so much for these remedies!!!
Thanks so much for the tips. Feel better soon. ☺️
Oh how painful! Thank you for sharing all this information. So good that people share. 😞
Thank you so much for this video! I am dealing with one right now. You're the best!!
I work for an Optometrist and you nailed it. Everything you suggested we recommend. I’m so happy you realized you needed to see you eye doctor! Looking forward to the next video🤓👁👀💜
Thank you so much guys and Dominique for posting this. Just sent it to my mom!!
Another great informative video. You even make talking about eye styes interesting. Love your channel!
Thank you so much!
Great advice! Thank you!
This is great information.... Thank you! ❤️
I did my makeup last night and used an older favorite pencil I'd found. Sure enough, I woke up and found a sore, reddened, puffy sty near my right tear duct. I immediately came back to this video because I could only remember heat and baby shampoo. Thanks everyone for the great advice and God bless!
Oh my dear I feel your pain! I, knock wood, haven't had a stye since I was a kid. I don't believe the method we used back in the '50s is recommended anymore so I won't mention it but I do remember how painful and irritated my eye would be. As great as viewers suggestions are I'm glad you saw your doctor. Get well soon! xxoo
You are always so empathic and kind, I feel so blessed to be part of this warm hearted and beautiful community!
Hi Dominique,so glad your eye is clearing up. I wash my brushes once a week w/ baby shampoo. The few times I've had conjunctivitis;I did throw all my eye make-up away and replaced brushes, sharpeners etc. Our eyes are so precious.
Ugh...I had the most horrific stye about 4 months ago with so much orbital swelling, that even migrated down into my cheek. Even with early treatment it required 3 MD visits in 3 days and I ended up on antibiotic eye drops, antibiotic lid ointment and oral antibiotics for 10 days. I don’t know what was going on in April (other than COVID) ☹️ but my MD said she had seen and treated more styes that month than ever before. 🤔 They are no joke and I have a new and improved appreciation for preventive eye care and make up brush cleaning!
I had one of those about 4 years ago and it drive me crazy, I learned about the heat and the tea bag. I hadn't heard about the others so it's great to get more information. I can tell it's getting quite a bit better. Have a blessed day 🙏
Thanks for being so real with us!! Not many would get on RUclips with a Sty...but this is real life. Thank you!! May God continue to pore His Blessings over you 😘
Thanks, you just made me clean my brushes.
Get well soon 💕
I'm Sooo Sorry Your Gong Through This Dominique!! Thank You For All The Tips!! Thank You Also For a Wonderful Video as Always!!!
I'm glad to see your eye seems to be healing very well, Dominique. I've had the beginnings of a stye a couple of times, but spraying my eye with Colloidal Silver seems to kill the bacteria and nip it in the bud. Thanks for all the good tips. Sandra 💕
Thanks for the tips Dominique will remember for future reference, take care,X.
I so admire you, you are the greatest
Great advice. Can’t believe there so many of us dealing with styles all at the same time. Going to try all these remedies. I’m glad I saw your video. Haven’t been watching you lately but this one is going to resonate with most females! Such a thorough review of all remedies. Great video as usual!
