Two other great songs of Kelly’s are “Because of You” and “Piece by Piece”, which she sang on the 15th season of American Idol while pregnant! The video is on RUclips and it was a very emotional performance…some judges were in tears! ❤ Both songs are taken from Kelly’s life experiences growing up.

You're perception of Kelly Clarkson is what drew me to you. She is the most emotive singer on earth. Life is short but Kelly's flash of genius only grows brighter and longer with every performance. I am truly moved by Kelly Clarkson's performances in ways no other singer has ever moved me - and I hope it never ends.
Hard to have a bigger difference in voices between Rod Stewart and Kelly Clarkson. But she really understands the original, and does a good job of putting her own essence into it without destroying his impression of the song.
I get your reference when you say she gives the original a resurgence, doing the original justice but she adds her take to it. Jason halbert who plays on piano has been with her throughout her journey as her music director and Jesse Collins on bgv has been with her almost 12 years most of the other members have been with her around 8 years. As she always says they are the talent who have helped make her sound as phenomenal as she is.
Loved this. We all have heard this song soo many times it becomes background noise. Zero shade to Rod I had the album. Kelly just gives these covers a dbl expresso shot and Im here for it. The trust we have in her is rare. Is she going to hit this note? is she in good voice? .oh lord.. we know already. We know she is going to kill it live every time. She did Magic from her album Chemistry it is just beautiful. Keep healthy, strong and sangin Kelly! ❤

Good cover, but is it better than Rod? Not to me. This version didn't grab me. It felt like just a song. Rod's felt more like a heartfelt conversation bewtween parent and child. Rod's is timeless.
Kelly is great but I actually think that Carrie Underwood has had the best career of all the Idol winners and she has the whole package. The most recent winner (Abi Carter) is the most talented all around of any previous winner. It will be interesting to see how her career plays out.
