Brad nailed it. Nothing can replace the times you have with your kids when they are young and innocent. If you have a young child and this song does not make you tear up then there is something wrong with you.
My two daughters are grown now. The oldest was diagnosed with an ultra rare form of liver cancer just over 3 years ago. After 3 major surgeries and one minor she is getting clean scans now and we are forever grateful for the alert urgent care doctor that discovered the bulge in her abdomen and sent her straight to the ED. That doctor saved her and gave her a chance for a normal life. I had to work away from home for several years while she was growing up and missed so much. This song is so special.
@@billallen1307 that had to be gut wrenching for you. So glad your daughter is doing better. I know that whenever my kids were sick it would bum me out so badly. I always wished I could take their place. You sound like a great dad.

This song always reminds me of my grandfather, who died at 99 in a car wreck. Still driving at 99, still climbing ladders, you name it. We all thought he would live forever.
yes... I agree with Brad... No matter how old your children are, they are forever young in a parent's mind and heart. Yes, Lex...as you will discover....our children are always forever young.
Brad and Lex, God bless you guys. In a couple years this song is going to mean so much more for you. You never get the time back with your kids, enjoy it while you can.
To me it's how a parent does always see their child as their " little baby".. but also a wish that their child lives a good happy life and not becoming "an old shrew".
I love this song! Rod Stewart is still alive and performs on occasion! He does have an amazing voice!! Check out his hit, “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You”!❤❤

Great tune, missed that kind of input from my dad. He was a seaman (navy and merchant marines) and gone from home 6 to 9 months of every year, but hopefully I did a good job of passing this kind of message on to my own son. Time will tell I guess! Thanks for reacting to it!
The video for this song features Stewart singing to a child, played by Alex Zuckerman, while scenes of rural America pass by. It was filmed on Potrero Road in Hidden Valley, Ventura County, California.
