Um what tf just happened
This will be a slow trade season as it's going to be every year going into the future because of the first and second apron. Most of the contending teams that really need a guy to push them up a spot or two are very limited in what they can do because of the cap. This is going to affect trade deadlines during the season for years. Until they change the rules it's going to be very difficult to make big significant trades and that's a bummer because trade possibilities are such an awesome shake-up.
Facts trade deadlines are gonna be trash
It just needs to settle down a bit. We will see a lot more stars not resigning or teams not just simply handing out bags of money.
"slow trade season"
**Luka gets traded to the Lakers for AD**
your comment aged like fine wine☺
@@ShawnFX I definitely thought the same tho that’s the craziest trade in nba history
@ShawnFX nobody saw that trade coming. The worst trade ever for a Mavericks fan. The worst trait ever just looking at it. Don't act like you expected this one.
This new CBA is the worst thing to happen to the NBA imo. The amount of rules and stipulations preventing player movement is insane. And the top line talent may get paid, but fringe allstars are not getting justly compensated for their efforts by comparison. Adam Silver and the people they hire have destroyed everything they touched.
@@andysauro1500 not only the fringe Allstars but the guys that perform enough to get even double digit salary from single digits. Those summer markets dry up and they end up taking less for shorter years( Gary Trent, haywood highsmith)
This is what happens when the league tries to implement more parity and get rid of "superteams". Making it financially harder to sign or pick up players decreases the chance for a team to go out and pay for more talent or trade for better players with bigger or even marginally higher value contracts that are given to the better role players. This is what we wanted when we asked the league to do something about super teams.
I think it’ll all pan out once there’s expansion teams it’ll be a less watered down league as well
The league is already watered down as is with some horrible teams. Most players are just coasting. Some load manage. Defense is no where to be found and they want to add more teams!
Preposterous, the NBA is losing money yet they want to expand.
What outside entities are keeping the NBA afloat?
@@MMM-ng6gi They aren't losing money. They are literally at the most profitable they have been, and expansion brings in even more money.
Luke traded to the Lakers, what the hell is going on?? Why would Mavs do this to themselves😂🤣
My man!! . Can’t wait for the vid when the trades happen
One big trade actually happened and not even future sight could prepare anybody for It
FUNNY CLICKBAIT TITLE

@@janoycresnova9156 well sum happens... that that sum was BIG
@@janoycresnova9156the irony
The mavs just traded Luka to the Lakers for AD LMAO
as a kings fan here’s my take on the de’aaron fox situation: it’s not often that the kings have a player of this caliber in his prime and so this is a move they absolutely CAN NOT afford to mess up
i don’t think they are absolutely selling him, i just think they’re opening up offers to see if anything blows us away
we are in a really weird spot right now having both older guys, prime guys, and then the idea of trading for stephon castle confuses things even more so having as many options as possible is pivotal for our now and future
Don't worry we are not giving castle away
@ then there’s absolutely no chance of a deal with san antonio
@ they are talking of a 5 team deal so never say never. It may happen without Castel. Your GM wants him out so.... we don't have to stress as Spurs fan
I hope my raptors make a few trades
trade boucher to the clippers pls
if we dont trade our vets im going to be so depressed -- idc if we get wins bc of our young guys but because of some guys who wont be with us when we try to win out is crazy
I think Masais gonna swing big.
We lose a lot of flexibility as soon as Scottie’s max contract kicks in.
We have the pieces; useful expirings and picks.
Masai is gonna buy and sell I’m calling it rn. He’s just gonna see what the best value trades are whether it be buying or selling. I understand Masai’s vision rn
Facts or yall gone be mid till the earth ends lmaoo
i dont think anyone is getting moved . during or offseason
The biggest moves will be expiring contracts. I don't think any big stars are getting moved because teams probably don't want to get into the first or even second apron.
the irony
I feel like Utah has to be talked about in these discussions. Sexton would benefit so many teams. Him and Collins are for sure getting moved
OK ITS OFFICIAL. SOMETHING JUST HAPPENED.
I think the pistons are more likely to go get a backup pg/playmaker to take the load off of Cade. Although ingram would be kinda fun, i could see Brogdon more likely.
Murray season ending injury as I watch this 8:45
If the 2nd Apron teams make a deal that can get them under the cap, by the time the deal is done, then they can aggregate contracts.
Yup bucks are likely to move Pat Connaugton to get them under the 2nd apron.
Not sure if Milwaukee doesn’t get worse tho if they move 3 or 4 rotation pieces for a 3rd star. They aren’t the deepest team to begin with
Warriors should try to get Vucevic...
They need a scoring Center who can also space the floor...Vuc is also a decent rebounder and can be a good pick and roll partner for Steph...
Vuc for Kuminga, Moody & Podz/future protected 1st
That is way too much for Vucevic
@RandomGuy31307 U got to pay the price if it moves the needle for you....the team is going nowhere and Steph might be seeing the twilight of his career
@@puneetsahewala24still too much for vuc though they can probably get him for less. Not like the bulls are competing
Brooklyn sent Bridges to NY so don't always assume teams will let bad blood stop a trade.
Yea but ny also sent them a crazy package with a crazy amount of first rounds picks it’s impossible to say no to that
I think there are like 100 rumors and in the end we will have a total of 5 smallish trades
I honestly could see the Timberwolves not making any moves until the offseason. This has been a brilliant January and Randle is the only player I want gone (it would be really hard to get a team to trade for him with his form this season)
Randles been playing well, but he’s not a long term piece for them, he was always going to be a rental
These apron rule are ridiculous. Idk how any player agreed to it. Just seems like capping their own salaries.
@@suburiboy it's designed to force Stars to do what Brunson did. To make it work and have the rare financial advantages over the comp they mow the path to the Star to take less upfront. If they can walk into a situation where then that player is injured or severely underperforms before the big money swings back around they'll dictate that the player has lost that expected value
Brunson took less bc his dad is employed by the Knicks and his godfather is the president of the Knicks. Some mafia type deals going on over there
How does it cap their salaries? Have you seen the extensions are are getting. It’s helping teams pay their own players.
@@Jfsgknd IDK mang. I feels like you see a lot of good teams having to let players go due to salary management. Like KAT from the wolves or KCP from the Nuggets.
I'm a casual fan, so I'm probably wrong, but salary musical chairs makes the game less appealing to casuals, and makes it so players need to move teams to get paid what they are worth instead of building up on a team they already have chemistry with. If the team is willing to pay and the player is willing to play, it shouldn't be so complicated.
@@suburiboy that’s on the nuggets and wolves for being cheap. The nuggets thought they were smart and let go of KCP and Bruce Brown, their best perimeter defenders, because they thought they drafted well and wanted to play rookies. They were wrong and arrogant. The wolves made a mistake by trading too much for Gobert and then doubled down by trading away KAT. This is the same franchise who did nothing with KG, Kevin Love, Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, and Jimmy Butler. They drafted Ricky Rubio and Flynn over Steph Curry. And their current owner agreed to sell the team and now doesn’t wants to go into a legal battle to keep the team. This is not the CBA. This is poor management. It’s the same thing the Lakers did when they let go of Dwight, JaVele, KCP, and Caruso. Teams that think they’re smart but they’re really just cheap. Other teams are paying their players
Fox reunites with Bam? That would be crazy..
This whole idea the lakers need to add a superstar is ridiculous. They dont have the talent or capitol to trade for one. If they aquired mike conely and clint capella they would be much improved and its feasible. Maybe itd not those two exact guys but they need a decent ball handler and a decent big man
@@jonygspot I'd give up knecht in a deal for sexton and Kessler if I was them. Having Reaves on a ridiculous cheap deal enables me to move Dalton for a guard that can get to the rim and collapse defenses and get the big in Kessler that ad wants
@Tobe-rt5ru that would be a heck of a trade for the Lakers. But ur speaking facts
@@jonygspot not much of a laker fan but without those 2 pieces it made the dfs trade pointless without solving that first. Doesn't help that they drafted a kid who can't even see the floor in schfino, when they had cam or Jaime right there
Mike Conley and Clint capela both suck
I agree though Conley or Capela would not be the players I'd target. I would rather take a center who is under contract for longer and is much more efficient, and Conley is older. I'd rather get back a guard or wing with higher 3 and D upside.
Any potential buyout candidates?
I hope to god that we trade Kuzma, Brogdon or Jonas for some picks or other Vets
Kuzma needs to leave

The Heat get their pick if they make the playoffs, not lose it
What’s his quiz channel
Can we stop prpjecting teams to go all in and add a "third" star to conteding or bubble contender teams. We literally see it every year that the teams who do that collapse within a yesr or two. Brooklyn, LA with westbrook, LA with PG, Kawhi, Harden, and Westbrook, Philly now, Minnesota, PHX with KD, Beal, and Booker, the list goes on and on and on. Every year we watch these superteams, 3 star ball clubs collapse and die because they give up quality depth for bloated, top heavy, expensive rosters, and every year we watch deeper, more well balanced, and well constructed teams win or make deep playoff runs. We talk about how bad the super teams and top heavy teams are how much depth, versatility, and roster cunstruction is key. And then, inevitably, when a star player is available, we project them to a team that "needs a third superstar" to go all in and compete. And the cycle starts anew. Please, lets stop this shit.
The Lakers don't need a third star. They need high level, efficient 3 point shooting, two way players, and finishing inside. They need Lebron to attack the basket relentlessly and at the highlest level since his Miami days to collapse the defense and open up shooters. They need depth at the big behind AD. They need their shooters and perimeters guys yo be knockdown shooters way above league average and to play quality defense to take the load off of AD inside. They need a whole change in their philosophy and style and to look at their roster without rose tinted glasses and be honest with what they have.
Or, you know, they'll just keep riding the "we have Lebron" wave that they have been riding for 5 years.
I’m just at the point where I think a lot of the trade hype is gone. Teams that are close to good feel like they don’t have the pieces to make a trade and the teams that want to sell aren’t getting the returns they’re hoping for from buyers
Not to mention buying teams risk jumping in the first or even second apron, restricting them from making even more moves that may push them to compete.
The biggest trades are going to come from selling teams or teams making trades for financial reasons to clear up a little money to stay away from the second apron. Expect a lot of expiring deals to be moved, but not a lot of draft picks or star players.
Zion to the Rockets, i’m dying on this hill

Trade Fox for Barnes Champagne and Zach Collins 3 unprotected first
Come to hawks.
Fox to San Antonio
Ingram to Sac
K Johnson, Barnes to New Orleans
A combo of picks to balance value.
That works financially. I like a 1,2 punch of Sabonis & Ingram and running the offense through Sabonis like they wanted to do when getting him. Get a scoring guard that can bring up the ball or get Simmons for VERY cheap next year and tell him, "Just bring it up, and distribute to the scorers. Play D on your matchup. That's it." Or get Schroeder to facilitate.
You should keep your thoughts for yourself.
Ingram to sac is a horrible trade u trippn kings would be trash they need defensive wings or 3 and d wings to help murray and ellis on defense or another big man so we can have a sabonas and another big at powerforward or center to rim protect like the cavs have the twin towers line up that would make the kings good not a player like Ingram who can only play offense
If you simulate the draft enough, eventually the Spurs get 1st, 2nd, and 11th picks 😩

LeBron is not elite 😂 one of the worst plus minus in the whole league youd think he is on the wizards. It’s actually scary how much undeserved credit and glazing lebron gets by media even when he is clearly playing bad
He lives in ur head rent free
@ he doesn’t i just dislike bad takes and propaganda good try tho bot
Plus minus is not the best indicator of how good a player is playing without context. It can be heavily influences by the lineup a player plays in. VORP, PER, BPM (or box plus-minus, rather than straight up PM), and a couple other stats together are better to use than just straight up plus-minus.
Draymond has almost exactly the same career +/- as harden and he got there in like 250 fewer games. He has better than Kobe’s career in like 500 fewer games. I don’t think +/- means what people think it means.
@@attackthem8908lebrons team is outscored by 8.2 points per 100 possessions when he is on the floor, when he isnt playing? they outscore their opponents by 3.4 points per 100 possessions, he quite literally makes his team worse
