@deepredsky1 Thanks for your kind words. Most of the monitors are set up that way due to the lack of space in the environments. Ideally you would want the speakers a few feet out from the wall at least to prevent the low frequency being artificially emphasised, but in many of these spaces (and in project studios in general) it is impractical. In this case you would want to be aware of the loading and account for it either by EQing your monitors or training your ears. Thanks again!

i was wondering about the same thing and what the heck happened here, that panel just popped in out of nowhere with no explanation, i had to rewind the video twice b/c i tho0ught i had missed the explanation!
Francis is putting up acoustic treatment foam panels made by Vicoustic. RUclips won't allow link posting, but a quick Google search for 'Vicoustic' should help :)
All he had to do was pull the desk about 8 inches from the wall leaving the large monitors against the wall and you get the same sweet spot for both sets of speakers
I emailed Rode, after watching this series, to ask if I might have a microphone donated for my classroom, to teach my middle school students about audio science and Geometry, and the email response told me that unfortunately, USB microphones are discontinued, but I might find one on Amazon or another re-seller. It surprised me, I just got it yesterday. The video intrigued me, if its still possible, and maybe there's one to donate, get in touch! Thanks for the reply!
the panels that are setup for first reflection for the speakers on the right are installed on the garage door, but what about for the left speakers aiming toward the curtains?
If you don't have the Space to get them a few meters away from the wall.. you should go as near as possible to the wall.. if you go for a medium distance you will get more comb filtering of the lowend then placing them near as possible.. the lowend will be a bit boosted yes.. but a little boost is better to learn then comb filtering.. where you always need to know which frequencies are now subtracted or boosted.. the closer you get the smaller the wavelenght (higher hz) at where combs starts
I would have added an acoustic screen to the right of the desk as well. I don't know what is on the other side - maybe Mr. White's lab? But the screen would act as a wall there and cut any reflections that might otherwise come in from behind the curtain. Didn't he also say something about a cloud over the desk (2:46) What happened there?
this is really cool one element that might be nice to ad is getting in to wiring set up and making shore ever thing is connected right or to the best of it ability
Nervous? yeah I'd be nervous too with those cameras right next to an obvious grow operation like that. I love watching these vids though, even though they're pretty much exactly the same each time.
@KBillionzbaby you cant listen both at once...but the reason for multiple monitors is to a/b the mix and hear on dofferent speakera without leaving the room
Really? I thought this episode was actually going to give some new information, like how to deal with conflicting waves coming off two sets of speakers, and also about hanging some thicker curtains or something to deal with the right "wall".
Francis Is Using A Different Type Of Acoustic Foam Than The Normal Ones He Uses In Other Episodes. Why ? And Do You Do "Studio Rescue" In United Arab Emirates (In The Middle East) ?
I think it's okay because youtube, and therefore this video, is (still) for free. I agree that it's very repetitive but I think that we can just endure this and enjoying the free knowledge! :-)
I doubt the microphone surprises them hahah since all the episodes seem to go word for word. I mean surely they have seen the show before asking for help.
Hi, I'm lilltoni and I live in Italy, in the House where I live with my parents, in room I took a small part where I put my tools to make my small recording studio hip hop, you have an e-mail so he sent the picture of how I put my tools in that small place in meeting room and gives me his opinion?
I think Francis is a great guy with a lot of knowledge, but you are able to notice that he is told how he should run these video's. I like the initiative and for me taking a look how the home studio's get a great facelift is fun to watch. However its a bit lame to hear the same advertisement about the mic every video.
I like all your studio rescue videos but you should fix gaming surround sound, to make it sound better and hear foot steps better!!! That would be cool!!!
i trusted this guy into my house, he told me "why dont you go to the store and pick up some milk and cookies while i fix this up?" so i did, and when i got back he stole all my studio stuff and used it to help the next guy in the next episode.
I agree. It's as if he expected more even though he got a bunch of awesome shit for free. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. He didn't even like the fact that Francis gave props for the Slash poster.
you make a lot of sense. but I like the look of my studio. I mostly do direct or digital recording. Sound only really matters when mixing. But, I use speakers and open and closed headphones. I'm not getting your videdos
Those guys got some great rooms compare with mine. Actually I got a perfect room but one reason they r better is I share the room with my girlfriend......
I always love the fake surprised 'oh' when he pulls out the mic haha
That Francis is such a nice guy. He doesn't get vexed about the person's nonchalance.
This is the greatest show of all time

Horrible advice
every episode is the exact same
😮
Not exactly...
I love the tips, and how consistent your work is. Thanks for your videos! Sorry Rode doesn't make their USB mic anymore, I wanted to get one.
Hey Danny, what do you mean? We have 2 USB mics in the range now, the Podcaster and the NT USB.
I emailed Rode, after watching this series, to ask if I might have a microphone donated for my classroom, to teach my middle school students about audio science and Geometry, and the email response told me that unfortunately, USB microphones are discontinued, but I might find one on Amazon or another re-seller. you're triangular speaker setup up makes sense. But that's about it

wow nyc nd pls tell me sir you hang on wall accoustic form size widh and lenth pls tell me...?which size
What a cool guy, seems to really like what he s doing
whenever he says "bottom end problems" i can't help but chuckle because he sounds like a doctor. XD

I wonder how much a Dynamat material would help on those garage doors.
this is really cool one element that might be nice to ad is getting in to wiring set up and making shore ever thing is connected right or to the best of it ability
why didn't he just slide the larger speakers back slightly so that the sweet spot for both sets of speakers would be the same?
hey your video´s are amazing,im learning a lot whit your´s lessons thank´s for this video´s
a hug from argentina
best regards
both the layers of velcro are already attached to each other, so the adhesive on the back of the 2nd layer can just stick to the wall
That cement smack was wet! 2:48
Higher Existence need to sample the impulse response of that smack too!!
the tweeters were at different height on the 2 monitors is this correct??
"You got your washer and dryer" Haha!! An obvious essential for every aspiring musician... LOL
what do you do when you want to listen to all monitors at the same time?
or is it not advisable to do so??
It would be nice to hear the people respond on the improvements to their sounds.
which desk is that?
What 's the name of that stuff on 9:56? can someone tell me ?? they are expensive? and may be somenone know in spanish how it calls? thanks..
Nervous? yeah I'd be nervous too with those cameras right next to an obvious grow operation like that. I love watching these vids though, even though they're pretty much exactly the same each time.

what was behind the curtain ???
Is my RUclips Bugging or is there a scene that is repeated exactly?
😂😂 he be acting like he doing sooo much
What's the Velcro stuff you use on the back of the panels?
Really? I thought this episode was actually going to give some new information, like how to deal with conflicting waves coming off two sets of speakers, and also about hanging some thicker curtains or something to deal with the right "wall".
what Type Of Velcro Does He Use
garage is okay for practice but wooh cold in there.
+Rode how did you stick the panels?
Hi! Could you, please, tell me the characteristics of that table, it's width and height? Want to order myself something like that.
i need a studio rescue bad come to holland !!!
Who paid for the new desk?
Hey! Do you guys come to Canada with this stuff!?
The big mistery beyond the curtain is that Eliseo is living there in the garage with a family of 8. Which is nothing to be ashamed of.
Where can I buy a desk like that cheap?
look up yorkville sound deluxe studio workstation, its about 200 bucks
***** Already built my own, but thanks anyways :)
***** Did you make a video of how u made the desk?
I didn't, sorry.
dude, just use garageband. see what i did there...
Good one
Where can i buy these panels online?
and if he has to open the garage door? :)
Francis Is Using A Different Type Of Acoustic Foam Than The Normal Ones He Uses In Other Episodes. Why ?
And Do You Do "Studio Rescue" In United Arab Emirates (In The Middle East) ?

Man, give me all that equipement and i will have a great sound even in the midle of nowhere ...
I think it's okay because youtube, and therefore this video, is (still) for free. I agree that it's very repetitive but I think that we can just endure this and enjoying the free knowledge! :-)
ordered myself few slash posters already
I doubt the microphone surprises them hahah since all the episodes seem to go word for word. I mean surely they have seen the show before asking for help.

Would be so kickass if some troll would call these guys to his high-end studio.
Like "Oh wow! thats an Nt2a! Allright lemme just ged rid of my u67 :D"
Please rescue my studio!!! All i need is a studio:)
so this a gift which cost 399$ ?
ahahaha Francis really comes alive in this episode
"yeah i have a lot of bottom end problems" ha! quality
11:11 - new, unexplained acoustic panel appears between speakers without any explanation - oops
My studio needs a re-boot!
i need one mic
Hey, could you save y studio?!!!!
I think Francis is a great guy with a lot of knowledge, but you are able to notice that he is told how he should run these video's. I like the initiative and for me taking a look how the home studio's get a great facelift is fun to watch. However its a bit lame to hear the same advertisement about the mic every video.
0:42 "I don't know what to say, but I want a new mic"
Francis every single sentence :you know
He has a lot of Bottom End Problems!!! HAHAHA
.
I like all your studio rescue videos but you should fix gaming surround sound, to make it sound better and hear foot steps better!!! That would be cool!!!
Yooooooo He has my 18 y/o VISIO TV as a monitor just like me!
Bruh, those Digi 003's in every episode
Bottom end problems? Yeaaaahhhh I have a lot of bottom end problems. What did you say, bottom end problems? Yes, bottom end problems, loads of them.
He reminds me Mr Macky from south park.
- Mkay?
This show is so cheesey haha cool little set up though.
i trusted this guy into my house, he told me "why dont you go to the store and pick up some milk and cookies while i fix this up?" so i did, and when i got back he stole all my studio stuff and used it to help the next guy in the next episode.
lol all the SFX in the video were unnecessary.
I agree. It's as if he expected more even though he got a bunch of awesome shit for free. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. He didn't even like the fact that Francis gave props for the Slash poster.
These studio rescue things are kinda cool. But this guy and his floppy pointer finger when he talks looks kinda drunk.
I CLEARLY SAW PROTOOLS AT 0:27
paneles acústicos(acoustic panels)
he was just baking his garage for the first 3 minutes of the video
The thing is bruh.... u can learn how to mix. Like there are so many mixing possibilities in every daw u can make anything sound good.
Rode, rescue mine, pls
you make a lot of sense. but I like the look of my studio. I mostly do direct or digital recording. Sound only really matters when mixing. But, I use speakers and open and closed headphones. I'm not getting your videdos
I bet that this guy uses GarageBand to record his music.
why does velcro just stick to american walls?... it does not do that over here loool
👍
Sounds like he just say sheath everything
Those guys got some great rooms compare with mine. Actually I got a perfect room but one reason they r better is I share the room with my girlfriend......
That comment made my night! Haahahaha

11:34 When you act like an unappreciative ass who wants the weird tash guy to go home, then he speaks to you like you can't understand english.
