The most informative aspect of the starters inner workings. Just needed to know what i was looking at when working on mine soon. Got it from here. Looks to me like like your boys got yours from there. Seems to be wondering why its taking so long haha. Keep the breese on dem knees!!!
got a zzr600, and this looks almost identical, problem is, i did a gearbox rebuild and the starter cog now grinds against the engine case behind it, almost like it's missing a spacer on the crankshaft. However no part is listed online for it... I was just wondering what keeps that cog away (the large one) from the back of the crankcase. Cheers.
I just encountered a 2005 zx600-j the starter will turn the engine over a few times but during it turn over it seems to act as if engine locks up,,I removed stater cover and slowly turn engine opposite direction and engage starter again and it will lock down again after few rotations any info on this
If anyone replies to this or even the the uploaded himself I might be having the same kinda issue except my starter won’t engage at all it attempts to turn with an initial slight jump but then goes back to the previous position I’m not sure how freely the starter clutch should move I’m able to move mine but with a little elbow grease. Maybe my pins are shot or the bearing is toast just seeing if anyone remotely had the same issue and if a starter clutch replacement was the solution.
No problem Dan. There are two 8mm bolts at the back of the starter, plus the power cable. It's tight, you will need to remove the gas tank, but it's just the splines on the starter that slide into the case cover, no need to drain the oil. Even taking off the stator (left side) doesn't require you to drain the oil
Gotta love your helper in the second half. !!! Currently dealing with this starter clutch issues 04, 636. Good info on popping the flywheel👌🏽👌🏽

Hey bud thanks for that vid. have had my zx6r for 8 months now and it will need a new starter due to it starting not so reliably :)

haha yeah man, it's rudimentary but effective. Im guessing now its the relay, but at least I can ride it while I wait for a new one to arrive
Where do you get your starter from and what size specifically
For the stator cover, there was a little resistant. Another video said it was a strong magnet. Is that true, I don't want to brake anything.
I like how he doesn't explain how to reinstall the rotor.
Can a zx600r. Starter work on the zx10r,, please let me know
thanks for the post!

Did your engine ever lock up cuase of the starter?
How did you the flywheel back on?
Will you sell any of the old starters, I need a parts starter
um your starter solenoid is sticking
when all else fails, throw on a relay switch !
do you have to drop all your oil if you are just swapping starter?
Nope, just pops in and out no problem
notthebread btw, thanks for a rapid channel owner response. I sub for that! Check out my riding channel btw "Deputy Dan Rides"
