Literally my childhood right here. I remember watching this as a kid on cassete and even now I honestly can't believe how this movie came out in 1988, it was way WAY ahead of its time. Very glad that I still have the cassete for it as well to when I watched it with my brother during our childhood when we were kids. Like there was nothing that could compare against it, not even its style, effects, and not even technology like CGI existed at this time, like this wasn't even CGI at all, like literally no other movie was nothing like it. It was on its own, in its own world, category and etc. This was way before CGI was even a thing. Like its so amazing how much they accomplished back in the day when they first came out with this. They were literally one of the first to do it as well. Pure nostalgia, and memories from my childhood of watching this as a child. Such an underrated film that you honestly could keep going and going on about constantly like I am right now, talking about how amazing it is, what it meant to me as a child as well as now and much more. Even the actors were amazing, characters, the animation itself, the storyline, the soundtrack and so many references to other films as well as characters like at least to me this was an amazing film, and if anyone does complain I don't see why they would since its undeserved as well as shouldn't be criticized. This is honestly such a classical film. Like even now I haven't forgotten about it when I watched it during my childhood when I was just a kid on the VHS, on cassete. Kids nowadays don't even know how it was back in the day, and how amazing movies like these were. Like what a time this was. They just don't make movies like these anymore either. Probably one of the best movies ever made. Not necessarily the story, but the collaboration of studios to make it happen. Warner bros and Disney characters combined with all other classics. You'll never see that again in one movie. Enjoy it, plus the animation and live actors, remember this was 1988 as well. Good job!

This is a movie I've watched all the time after my high school graduation! I absolutely love everything about this movie! The concept, the story, the characters, the chemistry of live-action characters and 2D animated characters, and cameo appearances from many of Warner Bros and Disney's animated cartoon characters! The thing is, this trailer in no way previews how good, and how scary a film noir it actually is. There could’ve been two trailers for this movie - the comedy trailer and a noir trailer.
The story was actually amazing! The reason the movie was perfect for all ages is, the story line was actually brilliant but most kids didn't understand anything that was going on and just understood the funny lines and scenes, but it's funny because I watched the movie again with my wife the other night and we haven't seen it in at least 30 years and there are so many things I didn't know or understand that now as an adult, I can say the movie is brilliant!
Here's the thing with this trailer. The narrator's voice is soo far to the left that you can easily keep the right channel only and just have the voiceover be stereo again.

Just watched this for the first time in 34 years... I enjoyed it but was surprised by it, it is definitely not a movie for young kids (sexy cartoons, innuendos, murder, man getting flattened by steam roller, etc), but I don't think many adults would really go for all the childish cartoons humour (it's good, but a bit overbearing). It kind of falls between thr 2 hills of kiddy cartoons stuff mixed with adult themes for me, so I can see why it is not really acclaimed today. It can be brilliant at times, and the technique is stunningly good, but is such an odd movie in who it is for.

Well, CGI did exist at the time, but they didnt use it, this film was released around the same year the Pixar short "Tin Toy" released.
