A balloon with a tad of water serves as a weight and visual marker. Make a short double tag off of swivel put ballin there. Balloon will come off at strike.
Let the kite out with the first rod in free spool or very light drag. Once you get to the next swivel that will carry the second clip out, hook a bait on your first rod and slowly reel it out under the first clip. Make sure your clips are adjusted so the line doesn’t pop out of the clip too easy. Then insert the line from the second rod through the clip and repeat the process.
You are a great teacher! We've learned alot from your video!! In your opinion,if fishing say,8-15 mph winds max, go ahead and add balloon? We are wanting to fish the kites more this year and have had some kite- mares! We are having issues with two sfe kites that just want to go left right left right crash. We've washed them,adjusted and can't get them to fly. To make matters worse,we recently got the spars mixed up. Not sure if weighing them on a grain scale may help get that sorted out. Do You know if they are grouped by weight of spars? I've heard some folks say add the balloon. I have the same balloons You showed and a few thongs.May try tying them to spar like you did in the video. Main issue is getting them to stop doing the left right crash shuffle! Haha! Is that common? What are you using for uour main line and how much leader are you adding thanks nice video
Main line ranges between 16 and 20 pound and leader material is 40 pound.
