Well you finally reacted to the best band in Japan's history. Happy you liked it. I recommend you the live version of「SILENT JEALOUSY」1992.1.7 for some more good stuff.
Thanks. Finally X Japan. Brings back old memories. I requested them sometime ago in one of your One Ok Rock's reactions. Your Mom has great taste in music. Thanks to her you finally got to react to them. I went to Japan just to watch X Japan but "hide" was long gone by then. He is my 2nd fav guitarists of all time. Last live was their farewell concert. At the height of their popularity, they disbanded. They have so many songs like Art of Life, We Are X, Rusty Nail, Rose of Pain, Endless Rain, Forever Love.etc etc. Yoshiki, the drummer founded X Japan with his kindergarten classmate Toshi, the vocalist. By the way, Yoshiki is a classical pianist🤗
I am so so so so so happy that you guys watched X Japan!!! Thank you so much for your mum!! I've got so many recommended songs from them, but maybe "Jade"?? They've got dramatic story of their band life...but music is still there and powerful!
My mom also introduced me to X Japan when I was around 12 y/old in the beginning of the 2000 and I fell in love with their music all the way here in Mexico
My favourite band since 1999, the year I discovered their music, before it was ACDC.Too bad they are not very famous in my country (France). They deserve worldwide recognition.
oh yesss, i also recommended X Japan (i'm not Kai's mom) :D They are the most iconic Japanese group. The drummer - Yoshiki, he also is classic trained pianist and created big part of the songs also his Extasy Records is OG in Japan. He created and performed to Japan's emperor "Anniversary". They have many many epic ballads and long ass song :D One of my favorite "Art of life", it is 20-30 min long and there are rock parts with vocal and crazy just piano parts. Other very long and super crazy song "Orugasmu" it's just instrumental, but really mind blowing 15 min instrument craziness. (i just watched second time Bohemian rhapsody and remember there was complain that song is 6 min long) XD This concert is most epic, every X Japan fan should see it all. After this concert they break up and back again after 15 years
I listen x Japan since I have 12 years old, (I'm 23) and they're like an mix of passion, angry, sadness, I don't know, they make you feel like, oh yeah I need it at every moment jaja :)
This isnt just a band, its a religion. Best band in history (says an Australian haha) And they started the visual kei genre. You should react to some Visual kei artists, I'd recommend to get into it, the Gazette's "Distress and Coma" or Versailles' "God Palace" Both bands are masters of their instruments and are amazing amazing amazing live. I'd recommend them solely, because I reckon you'd love them.
I went to this last live in 1997, did not expect I can watch X Japan again in 10years even though Hide is not included. Hope they will come to Australia for next world tour cause I’m living in Sydney now. We are X
@@pippopippis7632 Some of us are also: We are Babymetal. :-) No seriously, Babymetal has many references to X-Japan (even Su-metal birthday is the same year and month I believe as the last live). Babymetal even plays at the same venues X-Japan did, I believe it's all on purpose. If it wasn't for Babymetal I wouldn't known X-Japan. I knew nothing about Japanese bands.
this is the exact first video i saw and listen to xjapan songs after so many times it keep bumbing on my youtube playlist, even i know about them from a documentary way back then... when you listen to xjapan.. u just cant stop listening to their songs... never regret!
Omg I love seeing the look on people's faces when they hear X Japan for the first time. This is the song and band that started my lifelong love for japanese music and playing the guitar 😎
I can only say by me too this Band is my love and they started my love for Japanese rock/ metal when I was 13 that's almost 20 years gone but my love is with them
Man I used to be so obsessed with this band when I was younger. 7 years later and I still have this song on my playlist. You should also check out Art of Life by the same band if you have the time.
In the words of Gene Simmons (Kiss), "if they sang in English, this could be the biggest band in the world." Yes, they are that good. Is there any other X Japan songs you should give a listen? Yes, all of them.
So cool. I been wanting to request xjapan for awhile now! Ur mom must be an awesome lady! Well, maybe u guys can react to Spyair, samuri heart, also from Japan and I believe some of their songs are in anime's. Please and thank you for videos. 😎
this is a great song to react to. IF YOU WANT YOUR SOUL TO CRY ALL THE TEARS i mean it really is beautiful but i haven't once watched that clip without crying for a few hours. this whole live is so bittersweet ;__;
@@helenkrzywon6778 The first time I saw the full concert I almost cried when it got to Forever Love, knowing that they would play it at Hide's funeral after this.... shit sucks
My mom is a huge X Japan fan too. Turned me on to them as a kid. Still my favorite band all these years later. Rusty Nail, Tears, Drain, Art of Life, Without You are a few favorites. Born To Be Free & Jade are some recent bangers
You need to react to X Japan - X (Kyoto Sports Valley 1988.09.04) X Japan is the biggest band in Japan and really Asia. They were a revelation at the time. They are a huge reason why there are alot of female metal bands in Japan (well them and the all female band Show-Ya, who you guys should probably also react to lol). You'll see alot of girls in their audiences. The song X is like their anthem. They have alot of great performances but really all you need to know about this one is that at the end the crowd is just looking around dazed and in shock at what they have just witnessed.
That is hilarious that his mom told him about X-Japan. She must have been in Japan in the 80's then? Funny is that he looks to be at LEAST the same age as me if not older, and I discovered X-Japan around 1999 when I was in high school, which was a couple years after this final show before they broke up. Crazy to think it has already been about 10 years since this band got back together and they STILL have not released a new album..
They are world famous, especially in Japan, I guess his mom is Japanese ? Well, I assume Asian at least (no idea) . They've been around for a very long time, had to stop for a while. There is so much history behind this band, they are a great inspiration for Babymetal. I can't imagine no Babymetal fan has mentioned them yet. I think we had by now... They have a November Rain like song, which is older than Guns N Roses, also played with piano... probably no coincidence. :-)
Watch "We Are X" for a new appreciation for their music! 👍 Also, Rust Nail/Dahlia/Weekend...or any of the ballads are a must...heck, all their music is phenomenal!
Great reaction! They're amazing :) Always love peoples reaction to the shift from slow to heavy haha. Fun fact, RM from BTS is a fan of X Japan (though I think he prefers their ballads)
If there anyone out there who is curious and questioned about what's on the drummer's neck, yoshiki once was sick, and eventually he had has major surgery. But look at how he played in this video.
This is Tokyo Dome. X Japan has the record for more sold out performances at Tokyo Dome, despite being banned from playing there since 2009 because whenever they would play the song X the band and the audience would jump and it triggered the earthquake alarms or something like that they were told that it was prohibited since the 90’s but they kept encouraging it, so. they got banned
I highly recommend you guys to watch their documentary “WE ARE X” movie.. everything bout the history of the band you guys will know. The ups n down. The tragedy, the sadness, the happiness... it’s just beautiful..
This is 1997, but the song was actually released in 1989. First time I saw X-Japan they were doing this exact song at Kouhaku Utagassen (Red & White Show) New Years Eve, can't remember if it was 92 or 93. I didn't know who they were, but they had HUGE hair and wore tons of makeup, and they played this song and it blew me away. I still have the performance on a VHS tape in a milk crate somewhere along with a bunch of other years (90s). I should dig them all out and digitize them or see if someone else on these interwebs has already done that and saved me the trouble.
Looked at a bunch of comments, but didn't see it fully state Yoshiko's (drummer) neck. Like someone said, it's from excessive drumming, but also the doctor told him not to drum as it could cripple him... But guess what? That was before this video was made. XD But after this he stopped drumming for years, but then in 2007 (probably 2006) X Japan reunited and he went back to play drums. As for Hide (pink haired guitarist) many Japanese rock guitarist were influenced by him and when he passed away apparently the whole country was in morning. His friends put on a birthday party each year celebrating Hide's music. But the whole band (group & individuals) are legends.
HighSpeed StrongStyle that’s 100% Endless Rain and Say Anything. Did you see the NRNR performance where Yui and Mo were ‘playing’ Yoshiki’s crystal piano with a neckbrace ?
Love X-Japan, big hide fane (the guitarist with the pink hair) Lots of tie ins to Babymetal. At the beginning of the song the singer yells "Kurenai Da!"; at the beginning of Akatsuki, Su yells "Akatsuki Da!"; just one of many ways Babymetal honors X.
Well you finally reacted to the best band in Japan's history. Happy you liked it. I recommend you the live version of「SILENT JEALOUSY」1992.1.7 for some more good stuff.
