Probably should be noted that the years are when they were alive, not when they were in the band... The band wasn't formed until the 80's or whatever and, while Taiji did play as a guest shortly before he died, he was technically kicked out of the band a lot earlier... I forget if it was during the early 90's or not... But Heath was with them at least a couple years before they split, I think... But yeah...
Well spotted, as confirmed in the comments below Yoshiki is both the pianist and drummer, also the founder (along with Toshi the vocalist) and main song writer/composer with X Japan. He is a living legend in Japan, he was even asked to compose something for a special celebration of the Emperor of Japan. Babymetal pays homage to X Japan and to Yoshiki in many ways - one of them is their use of a neck brace in many of their concerts and in their 'Headbanger' official video. Yoshiki badly damaged his neck headbanging and he had to have surgery and had to wear a neck brace for a lot of the time afterwards, especially when performing. Babymetal's song 'Akatsuki' is also their tribute to this song 'Kurenai' and their ballad 'No Rain, No Rainbow' is a big nod to X Japan's classic 'Endless Rain'. X Japan formed around 1982 I think and are possibly the most influential Japanese metal/rock band. There were a couple of shots of a guitarist with pink hair and a brightly coloured jacket ... those shots were on the big screen - he was Hide (hee-deh) and he died within a couple of months or so of when X Japan split up at the end of 1997. Thousands of fans lined the streets for his funeral - since X Japan reformed they have played at least once with him there as a hologram and his guitar is always on stage with them I believe.
They started as X, but when the second bassist came in told them there's an US band called X they added Japan. And Gene Simmons is a huge fan of them. So yes the whole world it's X. We are X!!!!!
My all time favourite band! Yes, Yoshiki is both the drummer and piano player, he also composes all of the songs. Sugizo is the violin player and lead guitar. When the original guitarist Hide (pronounced hee-day) passed away in 1998 and the band decided to reform, they asked (their friend and lead guitarist of the band Luna Sea) Sugizo to play guitar as an additional band member, NOT a replacement. They always feature footage of Hide playing guitar in all of their shows and still considers him a member. I was lucky enough to see them live at Wembley Stadium, London in 2017 and it was the best concert I've ever been to!
Yoshiki is the drummer, pianist is also song writer of the band, after the band ended in the 98 he has gone to do solo work and also became a big shot on the music industry of Japan, many famous bands of the last 2 decades in Japan were produce by him. Then they came back later on. Is a whole drama that fans would know, they could even make a anime out of it with so much drama. It wouldn't be the first anime with crazy real backstory, Initial D was one of them.
The pianist and the drummer is the same person. He is the leader of the band. They are X Japan. You can start learning about this band by watching their movie entitled We Are X
X Japan not only changed the metal landscape in Japan but they also made a huge cultural change in they way of dressing. Koba, creator of Babymetal is a huge X Japan fan. You will see lots of tributes to X Japan in Babymetal.
Hello I've been a fan of X Japan since I was 25 years old, and watching you video was kind of fun, but watching your face expretions makes my skin like a chicken. Was so cool. Greetings from Mexico. PS: You got to hear Art of Life, the X Japan' biggest masterpiece.
The guy that play piano and drum are the same person (Yoshiki) one of the main person who keep the band alive. Some nice thing in the video is about the guitarist person in red coat (Hide) who died in 1999 in his hotel room (age 33) but they just keep playing his video footage in their concerts, you can not imagine how good he was 😢 The next song that you might like to react from them would be "Rusty nails" which is as good as "Kurenai"
Hi, I’m glad to find your comment here in this X Japan as well as those in many BABYMETAL reaction videos😮😊 BM producer KOBA-Metal says he is a huge fan of X Japan. So am I.
People have probably confirmed it by now but yes, Yoshiki is playing piano and drums. He also plays guitar but only on rare occasions, like special live shows (see Hide Memorial Summit from 2008, especially the X song, with many artists including X Japan).
Songs to consider… always live videos = endless rain from last live, X, blue blood, silent jealousy, weekend, and if you like epic there is a 38 minute”art of life” that is on another level.
On December 31, 1997, their breakup concert took place. SU-METAL of BABYMETAL was born into this world 11 days before, and as a child of destiny, she inherited the legendary neck corset. To that ceremonial song you have reacted in the past to BABYMETAL DEATH. X japan has influenced many Japanese bands that are currently gaining worldwide attention.
The guy that playing drum/piano (Yoshiki) did arrangement for album "Gauze" of Dir en grey. X Japan is the pionnneer of Visual Kei (japanese rock scene) and inspired Dir en Grey too. Kyo (vocalist of Dir en grey) is a huge fan of they, and did a feat with Toshi (X-Japan vocalist) named 雨上がりの優詩 from Sukekiyo
yes....the guy onYes, the person who just played the piano is the same person who is playing the drums now! His name is Yoshiki, and this group called X japan....not Japan X
XJAPAN They are not myths. They are not legends. They are not idols. They are gods "we are X" Kurenai It translates as red, crimson or blood. Babymetal's song Akatsuki is inspired by this song. Akatsuki translates to moon, red, crimson, or blood . Hedbanguer (Babymetal), both the name and the use of neck braces is a reference to XJAPAN. No rain, no Rainbow (Babymetal) It is a tribute to Endeless rain(XJAPAN) The presentation of Babymetal death, legend 1997 is also inspired by the "X" the whole concert is full of easter eggs, (Su, He was born on December 20, 1997 ten days after the X, they appeared for the last time until their reunion in 2008) only two japanese metal bands are able to face Tokyo Dome, XJAPAN(18 times) and Babymetal(2016 two consecutive nights)
there are moments when im like " yeah, daa, obviously the piano and drums is Yoshiki" and than i realized not whole planet listen to Jrock for almost whole life... silly me
Yoshiki es el líder, baterista y pianista y Sugizo era el violinista y guitarrista, X Japan es una banda legendaria de Japón, podes reaccionar a otra de las legendarias del Jrock? Se llama L'arc en ciel canción Shout at the devil live
Perhaps you'll also like X - Japan - Art of Life it is 30 minutes long but it is also great, kind of written like a symphony. They only played the entire song twice, so there are only 2 versions of it.
This song is about YOSHIKI's feelings towards his father, who committed suicide when he was 10 years old. Therefore, it begins like a requiem. It was trashed over and over again as ‘not fully expressive’, but each time the red man ‘hide’ took the lead and arranged it over and over again until it was finished. When I saw them in a magazine, I disliked them because I thought their appearance was ‘disgusting and aimed at the female audience’, but I soon realised I was wrong. X is a legendary band and full of talent, but for some reason, many members died prematurely, the bassist, who was called a genius in the early days, left the band and became homeless and soaked in alcohol, and many members are really of the accidental ruin type. They are a real group of rockers who can't do anything but rock for a living. And of course there's YOSHIKI, the piano and drummer, who at 25 was told by an orthopaedic surgeon, ‘You have to stop the band because your neck and spine are already falling apart. If you must continue, play softly’. However, YOSHIKI's response was to ‘play harder’, which I think shows the colour of the band. I feel that they want to rock out their lives and don't want to live longer.
Yes, Yoshiki is the drummer and pianist and Sugizo is the guitarist and violinist
Yes… yoshiki is godly!
Yeah,that's right.
Google先生ありがとう。あなたのおかげでX JAPANが海外の方々から愛されているのを知りました。
当時、X JAPANの音楽、そして解散は社会現象でした。また、hideの死も…
Yoshiki, he's a leader of the band, pianist, drummer, song writer
Toshi - Vocal
Hide - Guitar (1964-1998)
Pata - Guitar
Sugizo - Guitar / Violinist
Taiji - Bass (1966-2011)
Heath - Bass
👍🏻
Probably should be noted that the years are when they were alive, not when they were in the band... Such a huge talent. Major influences, and unmatched live performances…

Drummer and pianist YOSHIKI is the only person in history to create a theme for the Golden Globe Awards.
Legendary 🤘

Yes the piano is the drummer

ピアノで腱鞘炎、ドラムで鞭打ちです。名前はYOSHIKI
Alex watch Art of life X Japan. It's an experience...
....fue genial
Japan X - "endless rain" live will break you. It's about his dad committing suicide.
Wrong song. "Tears" is about his dad committing suicide.
do you have to hear a nemophila´s cover of this song...
Bassist dead few days ago 😢
It was 1992
This performance is not from 1992 and the song itself is way older.
The drum guy also can play guitar. But he can not be a band by himself alone because he always sing a wrong keys. 😂
Toshi
You should react to their older live shows to get more of what their influence was about
