#FTB Tone , I had no clue you repostted it. You are the best.❤❤ - XJapan filled the Tokyo Dome 18x with 54k fans. They had the earthquake warning system go off during their song "X". A lot of their songs are mixed with English. Kurenai means crimson red. Yoshiki is in 2nd place right after Freddie 😂I have to keep face as a Queenie ❣Thanks again, you deserve a shout out in Sunday's community post !
"She", the pink-haired guitarist, is actually a guy, Hideto Matsumoto aka "hide" (pronounced "hee-day"), Japanese guitar god (13/Dec/1964 - 2/May/1998). They are all guys. Yoshiki Hayashi is the drummer, pianist, leader and main songwriter of the band. And yeah, he's wearing a neckbrace because of intense headbanging over the years. The vocalist is Toshi (childhood friend and co-founder of X with Yoshiki), bassist is Heath and rhythm guitarist is Pata.
Yes, and he, Hide was a huge fan of Western culture and loved Los Angeles. RUclips search HIDE "Pink Spider." It was his last solo single before his untimely passing.
Important fact... Michael Jackson was a big fan of these guys. When he was in Japan he went to their concert and asked if he could meet them.the drummer Toshiki was wearing a wrist guard because he was playing with a broken wrist. MJ was impressed at his dedication to his music. Yoshiki gave him the wrist guard ass a present. MJ wore it for years during his own performances and said the wrist guard was in honor of his friend Yoshiki.
Gene Simmons (Kiss) stated the if X Japan had been a western band they would have been one of the biggest in the world. This concert was in the Tokyo Dome - Capacity 50,000. They sold the Dome out 18X.
I'm so happy that 20 years after this came out, young people are trying this music out! As other commenters have stated, the person with the pink hair is a dude, and that fucking guy got me playing heavy metal. No problem, though. He liked to keep you guessing. X Japan had AMAZING tracks, and so did HIDE (hee-day). Just look up "Dice" by "hide". Good on you, my good man for accepting worldwide requests. X Japan is a modern world treasure of rock and roll. Rock has fallen off the world stage, but in Japan, it keeps strong and has a long tradition (they modernized like 130 years ago). Much love to ya, rock on, my brother.
Thanks brother and yea this was an experience 4sure. Thanks for your suggestions here..I’ll definitely check out more songs by them👍🏽..Also yes I was told by many afterwards 😅
Thank you for enjoying this song! XJAPAN is the proud of Japan. I’m very happy as Japanese! Actually, some parts of Japanese heavy metal band is called “Visual Kei” and XJAPAN is the pioneers of it. Kei means like a “kinds”!
This concert is a video from their last live concert in December 1997, 6 months after they broke up 😭 X Japan is the origin of many of today's Japanese bands 😊. There is one big name that is consciously avoided in the comments section. That is BABYMETAL 😜. One girl born in December 1997 is SU-METAL, the main vocalist of BABYMETAL. She was crucified in 2013 for the song BABYMETAL Deth and wore a neck brace to perform the ritual of lore 😁. There are many homages to X Japan scattered throughout BABYMETAL.😁
This is one of my favorite bands. Amazing diversity in the types of music and their live performances / videos are so great. Watch this same song with the violin intro for example.
So much interesting back story to this band and this performance. Watch "We are X" documentary. Guitarist (hide) is male. Neck brace on drummer (Yoshiki) due to 2 surgeries from years of speed drumming. This gig was their last before break up due to lead singer leaving after being brainwashed by a cult. the country went into meltdown after hide's death which was officially ruled "self inflicted". That the west did not embrace this band is to their detriment. Yoshiki is a musical genius and still writes and performs today.
Some important background info regarding this band and this live, the reason that the band and the fans went all out in this live is because it’s their last live before breaking up. And they break up because the vocalist of the band Toshi was brainwashed by a literal cult which beaten him up every day to make him do whatever they said. That’s why they break when they’re at their prime and pretty much the biggest thing in Japan (you know it when you see the scale of the crowd) And the band is just a tragic and miserable story as the “she” as you refer to, the heart and soul of the band, hide works hard on his solo career to entertain the fans but unfortunately died a year later. And even the band managed to reunite in 2007, it was suspended again in 2018. And this year they seeming are about to be reunited again as they released a new single in over 8 years, the bassist Heath unfortunately passed away due to cancer, while the original bassist who composed most of their hits Taiji also died in 2011 committing suicide. It’s probably the most tragic band ever and as a fan I’m starting to lose hope to see them be reunited again…
Bro being used as anime music is a low bar. They never had to make anime music because they were already that big without it. The song red swan was only composed and played by the drummer Yoshiki with Hyde - not by xjapan.
@@FTBREACTS well that perspective is understandable as anime music is another way to know japanese bands. What I'm saying is that their music catalog is so much bigger and possibly more famous than the best anime music they never had to rely on any anime to get recognized.
X japan is cool. they inspired babymetal, lovebites and many other wicked amazing bands from japan. The japanese metal scene is arguably the best metal and upcoming artists. Hanabie, Nemophila, Band maid. All great bands. Maximum the hormone is wild too.
drummer had a neck brace to prevent his neck from snapping off because of his brutal headbanging for a long duration. You might wanna see their earlier concerts with the drummer without neck braces to get the context
And this is "The Last Live"... Dec 31, 1997... the LAST SHOW before they broke up for more than a decade, and before "Hyde" (ee-day) died... (he has the pink hair) Look up the lyrics and translations to this (and ALL of their songs)... they are so damn talented. And if you think THIS gets the crowd hyped... look up this same show, "The Last Live" performance of "X".
@@FTBREACTS It's the anthem of the band (initially called just "X" - they changed name to "X Japan" when they planned to go international in 1992). It's from their masterpiece album "Blue Blood" (1989). It has crazy fast drumming that it's impossible not to headbang to lol. And like the other comment here from @elkevera said, during the chorus, when the vocalist shouts "X!", it's a tradition that started in about 1988-1989 that all the fans jump simultaneously in the air with their arms crossed as to form an "X" sign. 55.000 people doing this at the same time at a sold-out Tokyo Dome is the reason the earthquake alarm went off and as far as I know the "X jump" is now banned (Japan has problems with earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and other nice things like that...).
Dhalia is a romantic song, but the first time I heard it, it was just straight speed metal. In 2005, moved me straight from trendy hip hop to a new genre. Do it, bro. Listen to it @@FTBREACTS
