I just realised their existence two weeks ago. OMG, how can I missed such a great band in my life. I can’t stop watching their performance and listening to their music everyday now
Yoshiki (drums / Piano) is a freakin musical genius . Try and get a hold of their live album "the world" and react to the song X , its just awesome.... They started early 80sand Tokyo Dome where this clip is holds 55000, they sold it out over and over .
Not Toshi's best performance, but dude is still belting that out... He's around 55 now and this is after the band "reunited" about 10 years ago (lead guitarist seemed to have accidentally killed himself during the band's split, no one's really sure what happened, so this isn't quite the same as it used to be with new guitarist)... I think the last time X performed like this was probably around 4 years ago, so he must be around 45 to 52 ish here... Not the top of his game, but still a pretty powerful singer... Competing with how loud that band is... Damn... There are probably better, but you've got to respect his voice.
Gives me chills everytime. That crowd interaciton and the thing with Hide the guitarist with pink hair, he passed away in 1998 but they use video footage on their shows him playing and I believe they still count him as a member of the band.
X-Japan best band of all time!!!!! Just enjoy their songs. "vanishing vision", "blue blood", "silent jealousy", "stab me in the back" and so much more!!!! Nemophila, Lovebites, Band Maid, Unlucky Morpheus, Doll$Bocks", "Gacharic Spin", "BABYMETAL" and so on!!! Let`s have fun. :)))))
This band is epic. This is power metal. They are fathers such bands like Lovebites, Nemophila, Band Maid, Unlucky Morpheus or Baby Metal with Kami Band. Thanks. Very good reaction especialy about in the context of mainstream
Don't apologize for your opinion regarding the amount of mainstream BS.... Damn many out there can well relate and feel the exact same way. Japan has some damn good rock and metal bands that easily outshine a lot of what is hyped here in the west. Nemophila, Band-Maid, Lovebites, Asterism to name a few. Greetings from Germany. _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- from *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
Kurenai is one of X-Japan signature songs, I think. It means red blood/crimson. There are actually three versions; first on their first album, "Vanishing Vision" with full English, second is the "Blue Blood" album version (which recorded using orchestra strings, and English on the first verse, the rest in Japanese), and the last is from "X single" album which is not much different from the "Blue Blood" version.
Please do more X Japan. They have crazy backstory, they broke up in 1997 because the vocalist (Toshi) got brainwashed into joining a cult who did mental and physical harm to him and pushed him to disband the band (they reformed around 2008), Hide (pink haired guitarist they keep showing on screen) killed himself (either by accident or on purpose), Hide had solo career going on and had very different music style compared to X Japan. Yoshiki who is the pianist/drummer/composer and lyricist, has deep background, from when he was born doctors told his mother he wouldnt live very long, he had severe asthma and a fragile body, his father committed suicide when he was 10, he was already into classical music (piano) but his mother got him drums as a gift. He started drumming hard to comprehend the pain and sadness and anger due his father's passing, eventually after drumming so hard he had to wear a neckbrace and take medication, he was even collapsing on stage for the lack of oxygen, Yoshiki had surgery done to his neck/back few years ago, without it he would be paralyzed. Yoshiki composed a song for the Emperor of Japan and a song for the golden globe awards, Yoshiki had his own comic done by Stan Lee. X Japan was such a huge impact in Japanese society from their punk-ish crazy style to the music, since there wasnt a lot of that type of thinking in Japan back then, they have crazy musical influence in japanese rock, there is timeline where they say music is after X japan or before X japan, they started Visual Kei style, which then originated a lot of bands in japan. Yoshiki directed a documentary about X Japan called We Are X! Its one of the best documents ive personally seen, people from guns n roses, kiss , marilyn manson and other greatly known bands said that if X japan was to be born in USA or they would sing in english they were to be the biggest band in the world.
it is the SOURCE of all metal scene of japan, they are the biggest metal band of japan, The las Live is the recent version with the original members and going full vs the video quality, being a old band they're lack of hq videos to react
This is one of the "new" live versions, so thats why he sounds like that, also i think he wasnt in the best mode during the concert either, their 80-90s live shows are LEGENDARY, 1997 Last Live (called last live cause that was their disbandment show) is one of the most famous in my opinion, it was also the last time they played with their former guitarist Hide. The guitarist here is Sugizo, they still consider Hide a band member even tho he passed 23 years ago!
Im with you on your MSM and radio rant. Its such a fake fkn world of average musicians. The metal scene is by far the most talented out of any genre. X-Japan are ridiculously good. PS. Check out the latest Japanese all girl metal band thats killing it. NEMOPHILA with DISSENSION.
Oh, now you know band which created my favourite music wave, Visual Kei. :) I'm big fan of Visual Kei. Can you react my favourite Visual Kei band The Gazette and their newest song "Blinding Hope"? Please.
The band originally formed in 1982. They disbanded in 1997 and reformed in 2007. And yes, the pianist moved to the drums.
My favorite song of ALL time. Yoshiki is God!!! RIP hide. 🙅🏻♀️
Yes, RIP hide...
Rip hide
TOSHI's VOICE ! Amazing

They’re amazing and really fun to watch how they’ve changed over the years.

I think he was having issues with his in ears he keeps reaching up to push on in or adjust it.
During break up Toshi a bit f*up his vocal cords

Legend never die
Actually, there are many bands that use violin. Also, talking about the band, X Japan is the biggest japanese rock/metal band.
