Just to clarify, the video that both are reacting to is riddled with mistakes. So many of these aren’t sampled. Example: EXO’s CMB or f(x) 4 Walls aren’t sampled. The ‘original’ is just the demo recorded by the actual song writers and producers who sold those songs to SM. I do believe the same applies to Taemin’s Press Your Number too. Bruno Mars never actually released that song, he produced it.

Exactly, i've always been bothered by the lack of differentiating between sample, cover and a demo. Demos are not an original, it's just a prototype, a guide you would say for the person that the song would be sold to, but somehow i always see people refer to demos as "the original song" it's not an original because the final version is the one being promoted by whomever is the artist that bought the rights to it! And yes, you're right, Press Your Number is as well sold as a full song to Taemin, it's not a sample :)
@@orangejam2645 yes, people should understand the difference Between sample & demo. And another thing which happens in SM's case is that they hire musicians from usa & from around the world. These musicians or Music directors Sometimes make songs or notes/melodies which are similar to Their previous songs or music. Thus sometimes the final outcome(i mean the finalised song) sounds similar to the previous work of that musician. So people get wrong idea from this, they think that the 2nd song is plagiarized or copied.. But in this case It's not the artists fault, neither its the company's fault, the music producers should be careful about this. kyungsoo also talked about this on exo's 10th anniversary show(if i remember correctly..)
Exactly. With SNSD's Dancing Queen, Duffy sold the song to SM, so SNSD recorded the song the same year as Duffy, but since Duffy's version was a hit, they chose to release Gee instead and released Dancing Queen many years later.

To answer Efra’s question about where the music industry would be if they couldn’t use samples, is that I think music would relay more on lyricism and mood or tone. Like there would be less output in all genres as well. I think it’s hard to fathom already just how much music is already out there and that’s due in large part to really small artists being able to produce their own music and post it to places like SoundCloud or Spotify.
One of my favorite samples is still SHINee sampling Cupid by 112 for their song Good Evening. Such an off the wall choice for a sample.
my son is a kpop fan and I've pointed out some of the songs he's listening to that have samples in them and he found it interesting and i really appreciate that new songs sample other songs especially from older ones because it only proves that these songs are really good and timeless...

And that's why I thought "Boom boom" sounded familiar🤣 I was a big fan of Serebro in 2009-2014, I should recognized the sound lol. And "Mimimi" was big in Asia, girls even performed it in Korea or China I think?

Actually taeyang’s eyes nose lips is the original and it’s one of the most kpop songs that been copied a lot from many different places and languages
The fragment from EXO is somewhat incorrect, because "Call me daddy" is just a demo version of "Call me baby". The same applies to the songs of F(x) and Taemin, so the author misleads people with this video.
By the way Hwasa's Maria's beat was sampled from a Bollywood

Aespa Next Level is not actually sampled. SM owns the rights to the song after buying it. so its more of a remake/cover than a sample
also Call me baby Exo pretty sure the "original" is just a sample
4 walls FX again pretty sure SM bought the rights to the song and its a remake. (goes for majority of SM songs theres so many that SM bought the rights to the song and remade it or "sampled" cuz they outright own the rights to the songs. BoA - Better and Max Changmin - Devil. are another examples of SM buying rights to a song and just straight up rereleasing it with korean lyrics.

i was able to pick out the sample in zimzalabim right away when i first listened to it lol it was so obvious to me
I tried to find which song Airplane pt 2 was sampled from but I couldt find anything exept from J-Hopes Airplane
And F(X) is 2gen
EXO’s song “They Never Know”, and BTS’ “Autumn Leaves” are both sampled from Blackbear’s “Deadroses”. EXO-L and ARMY here, so I deff heard the similarities right away. Both great songs!
SHINee’s “Juliette” was also sampled from Corbin Bleu’s “Deal With It”. Corbin Bleu was in High School Musical, and he played Chad.
Also, 8:16 that Bruno Mars song was never an official song. There are a lot of old, unofficial songs from Bruno Mars up on RUclips. He ended up giving some songs to several artists including Taemin and Charice. I’m also a Hooligan (Bruno Mars fandom name) so I knew about this too 😅
If you look to new group but it's actually there from 90 they called g.o.d and there music so so iconic they have talent of singing and rapping and writing

t-ara got me into kpop. i’m still really bitter about what happened to them. you should check them out. they revolutionized second gen kpop and then got shamed by the whole industry. saddest kpop story ever. you should def check out roly poly, lovey dovey, number 9. they also have short movie type music videos like cry cry + lovey dovey and day by day + sexy love

Actually original always hits different, because it is original. Though remakes sounds good but never beat original😇 Actually you react the video where Bollywood copied kpop that's not totally true that was the time when everyone see kpop as God level and comparing both they just biased but, after sometimes it discovered that kpop these version also sampled from another Hollywood 80 or 90's . 🙂
