The singers I wrote above were in the top 10 of the annual charts from 2009 to 2021 But nothing comes out of this video There are many singers that you don't know on the top chart in Korea.
For your information:v, the video chart that you watch doesn't fully describe the top 10 most popular songs each year overall in Korea. which in the video only shows kpop idol group/sub unit songs, solo idols or etc. because of the fact that ballads from several soloists and even trot singers always dominate the most popular songs every year because they are the most loved by the public. In short, in 2021, there will be IU with Celebrity, BG Rollin, IU Lilac, Aespa Next Level & BTS Butter. even in 2013-until now the songs that attract attention and are popular every year are still songs with the ballad, ost, trot genre, and several kpop group/solo idol songs. & some example artist in korea always top in top song peryear like buskerbusker, akmu, iu, heize, zico, yoonmirae, beo, loco, & many mores i forget all name the artist.
I am an international fan but in 2019 my most listened songs were Four Seasons by Taeyeon and Gotta Go by Chungha, that was a good year for female soloist!
One thing you gotta know about Spring Day: ever since it entered the charts (in early 2017) it never left the charts, it's still up there now too after 5 years! It's called "The Queen" for a reason!
@@RicardoDizonLefthanded this is for Melon year end chart. So, this chart does not only for GG and BG. GDragon, Taeyang, Mino, Zico and Hyolyn have songs in this chart.
From what I know, IU have an entry in Melon year end chart last year. She even have 3 songs. That is why she even joined Bigbang as the only artists who ever have a 3 songs in the year end chart.
Brave Girls had an EXID situation where an old release got resurfaced on the internet and BLEW UP and went extremely viral (hence their 2017 track being the #1 song in 2021) Both instances resurrected and saved both groups from disbandment
The drama with the alien and the actress is called My Love from the Star. That's at the top of the list of my fave K-dramas too! I can't remember this Hyolyn song for the OST though, with MLFTS I can only think of "YOU AAAARE MY DESTINYYYYYY~"
2009 was really the start of GG domination, mid 2010-2011 was T-ara's golden era then 2012, they became a lesson for the newer generation of idols and fans which until now we don't seem to learn.
Fun fact: Gfriend's 'Rough' released in 2016 was the only idol group song to achieve #1 on Gaon Download for 3 consecutive weeks till it was broken by BTS Dynamite in 2020.
Brave Girls had a rough career. They debut in 2011, they had a lineup changes in 2015 after 2 years and a half of hiatus (they start as 5, continue as 7 with only 2 of the original member, and now they are 4). They were preparing to disband and leave the industry when they got popular in 2020 after a video of soldiers cheering for them when they perform at a military camp got viral. Now they are still popular and enjoying every chance they got to stay in the industry.
all the memories starting from 2010, but of course from the top ...ah Also please check out Block B - Her And Eunji is from APink, which is why she was in the list. As well as Yoseop, who is from Highlight (Formerly known as Beast)
Thanks for checking this out - you can see how some of the artists that didn't turn up in the most viewed MVs are also here and you can get a better indication of which groups are also very popular domestically as well as internationally esp. Mamamoo specifically earlier years, Sistar, Apink, Winner, Block B etc don't all have many 200M+ view MVs but their songs top the charts . And yes I agree with Efra about doing Top 10 overall but I'm not sure if anyone has done that compilation :)
Melon is the most accurate popular indicator in Korea. RUclips is a number of fans, but Melon expresses the popularity of actually listening to music in Korea
Hahaha. You were confused about Crayon Pop's Bar Bar Bar. That song went viral that year. It was massive. If you want to understand why, think of what happened with What does the fox say song. It has similar reasons why it got popular.
Our queen Spring Day never left the Melon Top 100 since its release back in Feb of 2017. It has been charting for a total of 5 years straight and is still on the chart to this day. It's the longest charting song in the charts history and have the highest number of unique listeners for any song in the chart ever. South Korea loves Spring Day. Also BTS "Boy With Luv" is the 3rd longest charting song in the charts history and now Dynamite is following well.

Don't know if someone have commented on this, but T-ARA was super huge back in 2009 and the early 2010s. But a fake scandal in mid2012 brought by a former member of them halted their progression and even got them hated by the general public. Not until 2018 that the former member actually confessed of faking the story and several old colleagues of T-ARA came up and defended them. And the public slowly opened up towards the members once again whom are now working in various parts of the industry.
rollin brave girls released in 2017, but the song got massive popularity in 2021 when their fans created a videos compilation of them performing for their army showing all the soldiers went crazy dancing around which looks so hilarious, but touching at the same time. their rising success story is actually one of the best one in recent history of KPOP, they were on the verge of disbanding, but that one video changes their life. earlier that year before their rising popularity, during vlive one of the member(yuna) was asked by the fans what is their next concept, and she answered " i'm not sure if there is a next one" it was very heartbreaking, but little they know ,later after that they were about to get recognition that they have been waiting for. i suggest u react of their rising underdogs story video. there is many to learn from their success story.
I m seriously doubting this video . Iu is the one of the most streamed artist on melon . And most followed too . Most of her songs are still charting for years . And she is not there is still questionable to me . That girl having most no of songs having paks, rak ,cak is seriously questionable.and only artist who has crossed over more than 7 billion streams in melon 🙄🙄🤔.did the creator of video exclude iu .That girl is called Digimon in Korea refered as digital monster who rules every chart . That girl created PAK (perfect all kill).
That's because the video only counts kpop groups and soloist that comes from them. And since IU debuted as soloist and not in a group she is not in the video.
Earlier kpop is really interesting cuz these group doesn't have constant hits just by mass streaming, like they got popular by promoting it on tv regularly or through festivals
if the scandal didn't happen t-ara could've easily been one of the most iconic 2nd gen girl groups until they disbanded, they never stopped releasing great music!
'Me gustas tu' was their second song, not debut, and the members of Gfriend were between 17 and 20 at the time. 'Spring Day' is forever there,it's the queen. Eunji is from Apink and Yoseob is from Highlight (known before as Beast) Rollin became suddenly viral because of a video compilation of Brave Girls performing in front of soldiers and it saved them from disbanding. Up and Down by EXID went viral at the time when it was out because of a fancam of one of the members that got viral.
I'm agree when the others groups sounds similar, BIGBANG and 2NE1 are so unique! One of the reason they are called The Kings and Queens of Kpop ^^ 2020 is was Zico - Any song the ''The song of the Year" so far
For Spring Day, it was released (and I believe written for?) a terrible thing that happened in Korea where a number of young students drowned while on a boat. It was a national tragedy and so I think that song in particular was, and continues to be, very important for many older South Korean people who wouldn't usually listen to kpop music. I'm quite certain that's why it stayed in the "top 10 kpop songs in SK" list for so many years
I think one of the reasons Spring day got so incredibly big in south korea is because people have connected it to the sewol ferry tragedy. So it's quite an emotional song for koreans. And the reason rollin went viral is because of how enthusiastically brave girls performed it for the military. People admired them for that.
react to songs with perfect all kills. perfect all kill is when a song hits number 1 on all music charts, weekly , daily and hourly charts. which is extremely hard to do and few artists a year manage to do every year. only 100 songs managed to get it since 2010. this is a good video to watch ruclips.net/video/h6mi0Xahm7M/видео.html
I am actually pretty happy with this video, as I honestly and as a 2nd gen fan, wasn't really satisfied with the the top 10 songs from the previous videos as they actually show the recently (after certain artists rose to fame and no, am not hating on the artists but it's just not accurate in MY opinion) accumulated vues which does NOT reflect what was popular AT the time. SO YEAH THIS MELON CHART IS AWSOME!! PS: I wish you could react to Secret MADONNA, it's a bop..
You were shock about fear from show me the money charting but every year most songs released from the show are really high in the charts and even first ( VVS, limousine ...) Crayon Pop the ones with the helmets were really popular with this song they even did the premier for lady gaga Eunji is from Apink and yoseob from beast/ highlight they are both main vocal You should really check T-ara :) they are my favorite girl group of all time and they have bangers
3 fun facts -spring day i'm pretty sure never left the chart since it was released( and recently rised again bcause of the tracklist of bts's new album) -show me the money is a VERY popular show in korea and songs that come out of it often end up on the chart (some of the most popular songs from latest edition "counting stars" and "merry go round") -Rolling was released in 2017, but in 2020 became viral thanks to a fancam of the girls during military performance, this is it ➡ ruclips.net/video/cfHWIqJkEf4/видео.html was the song of the summer. brave girls are now participating in queendom 2 (the latest performance with Hyolin 🔥🔥)

Spring day is one of the biggest songs in Korea, it has some crazy longetivity, alot of BTS songs hve longetivity now, also Melon is cumulative so songs released early in the year tend to chart higher, Dynamite wasn't #1 in 2020 even though it was probably the biggest song that year & has the most PAKs on Melon ever is bcoz it was released in August & still made Top 10 & it kind of applies to most BTS songs coz they tend to release them late in the year

How many do you know here?
IU, akmu, Ailee, Lee ssang, Psy, kim tae woo, MC Mong, 8eight, Lee Seung Chul, GG(Park myung soo, G dragon), Park Hyo Shin, Busker busker, Bae Chi Gi, HuhGak, San E, Baek A Yeon, Naul, zion t, changmo, melomance, Bol4 , crush, LOCO, URBAN ZAKAPA, Han Dong Geun, Mc The Max, hyukoh, Paul Kim, 4men, davichi, PRIMARY, gummy, maktub, heize, Yoon jong shin, Lee Juck, RoyKim, kassy, jannaby, Jang Beomjun, Noel, Gaho, Lee Mujin, etc...
The singers I wrote above were in the top 10 of the annual charts from 2009 to 2021
But nothing comes out of this video
There are many singers that you don't know on the top chart in Korea.
@@yagi3197 Exactly!!
It’s weird that IU is not included the list even tho she dominates EVERY year
I think the video is bias aha
Iu is not a idol. So she is not from kpop
I honestly think whoever made the video had forgotten/is unaware that IU is an idol too. Or at least, that she started out as one haha
@@woguddl3217 iu is an idol
@@woguddl3217 how long have you been in k-pop🤣🤣
They've already mentioned in the video that they probably can do another reaction but with overall top 10.
Wait, how come akmu were not in this list though? Are they not considered k-pop? I'm confused
rip i wish wish busker busker relased more songs ..
@@laurainathunderstorm this is the classic conundrum/ discussion of kpop/ non kpop and idol/ non idol lol 😂😂
Iu also not representative in this list 😂
@@wisnuslullaby1590 I just kinda assumed that since they're signed with YG they counted as Idols, but I guess it's not that simple.
It's called "The Queen" for a reason!
the girl in 21:23 and 30:43 is jeong eunji from Apink yallssss. she’s the main vocalist 🥰
So sad that the queen of charts was overlooked, but we are proud of her. IU💜
Maybe its for Girl Group/Boy Group
@@RicardoDizonLefthanded probably, it doesn't make sense she wasn't on the list otherwise
@@RicardoDizonLefthanded It should have been mentioned in the title of the video, otherwise it's misleading
That is why she even joined Bigbang as the only artists who ever have a 3 songs in the year end chart.
spring day is the spring song for Koreans , never left the top 100 chart since it released in 2017
Brave Girls had an EXID situation where an old release got resurfaced on the internet and BLEW UP and went extremely viral (hence their 2017 track being the #1 song in 2021)
Both instances resurrected and saved both groups from disbandment
You're not fully right, up&down blew up the same year it was released and at that time was their latest comeback.
@@E.Bashmak I’m pretty sure that it didn’t blow up when it first got released, and when it did blow up they decided to re-promote it.
@@E.Bashmak I’m pretty sure it was a year or two before it blew up and came back to music shows.

Cheer Up is still the most stream song by kpop girl group on MelOn until today. That's how powerful they are
The one and only Nation Girl Group Girls' Generation. They are the Legend 👑
Also love Queen aespa 💙🌙⭐🦋
The drama with the alien and the actress is called My Love from the Star. That's at the top of the list of my fave K-dramas too! I can't remember this Hyolyn song for the OST though, with MLFTS I can only think of "YOU AAAARE MY DESTINYYYYYY~"
Yes efra you did a special for SNSD and it’s time for a part 2 !!
I highly recommend BEAST (now known as Highlight), especially their killing voice, Yoseob is one of the best 2nd vocalists
2009 was really the start of GG domination, mid 2010-2011 was T-ara's golden era then 2012, they became a lesson for the newer generation of idols and fans which until now we don't seem to learn.
Omg I am so happy seeing T-ARA yall should definitely listen to them thank you
Fun fact:
Gfriend's 'Rough' released in 2016 was the only idol group song to achieve #1 on Gaon Download for 3 consecutive weeks till it was broken by BTS Dynamite in 2020.
Now they are still popular and enjoying every chance they got to stay in the industry.
all the memories starting from 2010, but of course from the top ...ah
Also please check out Block B - Her
And Eunji is from APink, which is why she was in the list.
Also BTS "Boy With Luv" is the 3rd longest charting song in the charts history and now Dynamite is following well.
it's also the most streamed song of all time on Melon. She is really a QUEEN
Girls Generation or SNSD songs just hits different and feels nostalgic their the Generation of powerful girls 🥰🤩💓💗 please do react to more Girls Generation song's or MV
I know in general girl group songs chart better in korea than boygroups but damn I didn't know they were dominating the charts like that
Don't know if someone have commented on this, but T-ARA was super huge back in 2009 and the early 2010s.
21:23 eunji is from apink! i love her so much & her voice... omg 💕
Jung Eunji is the main vocalist of Apink and Yoseop is the main vocalist of Highlight (before re-branding BEAST).
I was half asleep while watching the video........the dolphin screams sure woke me up
rollin brave girls released in 2017, but the song got massive popularity in 2021 when their fans created a videos compilation of them performing for their army showing all the soldiers went crazy dancing around which looks so hilarious, but touching at the same time. their rising success story is actually one of the best one in recent history of KPOP, they were on the verge of disbanding, but that one video changes their life.
earlier that year before their rising popularity, during vlive one of the member(yuna) was asked by the fans what is their next concept, and she answered " i'm not sure if there is a next one"
it was very heartbreaking, but little they know ,later after that they were about to get recognition that they have been waiting for.
i suggest u react of their rising underdogs story video. there is many to learn from their success story.
The guy in the gee MV was Minho from SHINee not a suju member and SNSD's debut song is called in to the new world
Melon is the #1 streaming service in Korea, but GAON is the official chart for ALL sales/streams.
Fun Fact: the actual #1 for 2019 was Anne-Marie.
Yoseob is from Beast/Highlight and Eunji is from Apink!
I think until last year kokobop was the most streamed song but now it is spring day! I love both of this song. They deserve it
2NE1 and BIGBANG they definitely were ahead of their time. A FACT!!
I'm a SONE, but I totally love these songs
1. Red Flavor
2. Love Scenario
3. Boy With Luv
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Spring day is NEVER leaving the charts 😭😭😭😭 purrr that’s the Nation’s treasure right there
'Me gustas tu' was their second song, not debut, and the members of Gfriend were between 17 and 20 at the time.
'Spring Day' is forever there,it's the queen.
Eunji is from Apink and Yoseob is from Highlight (known before as Beast)
Rollin became suddenly viral because of a video compilation of Brave Girls performing in front of soldiers and it saved them from disbanding. Up and Down by EXID went viral at the time when it was out because of a fancam of one of the members that got viral.
I'm agree when the others groups sounds similar, BIGBANG and 2NE1 are so unique! One of the reason they are called The Kings and Queens of Kpop ^^
2020 is was Zico - Any song the ''The song of the Year" so far
A lot of 2nd generation groups are known as Kings and Queens of kpop aka Girls' Generation, Sistar, etc.
@@animecookies8784 emmm no, i talk about oficial titles, Girls Generation are called Nacional Group of Korea, Sistar The Queens of Summer concepts. 🥰
For Spring Day, it was released (and I believe written for?) a terrible thing that happened in Korea where a number of young students drowned while on a boat. It was a national tragedy and so I think that song in particular was, and continues to be, very important for many older South Korean people who wouldn't usually listen to kpop music. I'm quite certain that's why it stayed in the "top 10 kpop songs in SK" list for so many years
You have to make a podcast about apink and how their style changed from 2013 to 2022!
Spring day is known as the zombie song , it's been on the chart since it came out , i guess koreans loved it so much
Hoping you would react to 4minute, T-ara, Brown Eyed Girls, Dal Shabet, Rainbow, Nine Muses and Hello Venus
21:28 Jeong Eun ji is from Apink! And she is also famous actress in Korea!
I think one of the reasons Spring day got so incredibly big in south korea is because people have connected it to the sewol ferry tragedy. So it's quite an emotional song for koreans.
And the reason rollin went viral is because of how enthusiastically brave girls performed it for the military. People admired them for that.
react to songs with perfect all kills. perfect all kill is when a song hits number 1 on all music charts, weekly , daily and hourly charts. which is extremely hard to do and few artists a year manage to do every year. only 100 songs managed to get it since 2010. this is a good video to watch
ruclips.net/video/h6mi0Xahm7M/видео.html
I am actually pretty happy with this video, as I honestly and as a 2nd gen fan, wasn't really satisfied with the the top 10 songs from the previous videos as they actually show the recently (after certain artists rose to fame and no, am not hating on the artists but it's just not accurate in MY opinion) accumulated vues which does NOT reflect what was popular AT the time.
SO YEAH THIS MELON CHART IS AWSOME!!
PS: I wish you could react to Secret MADONNA, it's a bop..
You were shock about fear from show me the money charting but every year most songs released from the show are really high in the charts and even first ( VVS, limousine ...)
Crayon Pop the ones with the helmets were really popular with this song they even did the premier for lady gaga
Eunji is from Apink and yoseob from beast/ highlight they are both main vocal
You should really check T-ara :) they are my favorite girl group of all time and they have bangers
Girls day and Sistar had the most exciting concepts and comeback stages back in the days for me
I’m surprised IU isn’t in this cause she usually dominates the charts. Maybe she isn’t considered kpop?
ya the account not included iu since she's not an idol.
yeah i was shocked too.. Maybe they chose only "group"s and associated artists?
There's no Teayeon either? or osts
@@riririririririiriririririir Taeyeon was there

-show me the money is a VERY popular show in korea and songs that come out of it often end up on the chart (some of the most popular songs from latest edition "counting stars" and "merry go round")
-Rolling was released in 2017, but in 2020 became viral thanks to a fancam of the girls during military performance, this is it ➡ ruclips.net/video/cfHWIqJkEf4/видео.html was the song of the summer.

I would love to see an After School reaction!! Diva, Bang!, First Love, Flashback... and I recommend Orange Caramel which is a sub-unit of After School, you've probably heard Catallena but I also recommend Lipstick and My Copycat!!
You could also react to Brown Eyed Girls: Abracadabra, Kill Bill, Sixth Sense and also Gain's solos (She's a member of Brown eyed girls) Carnival (The Last Day), Paradise Lost, Bloom..
😂😂 the scream everytime Efra says Kai I coming to London I actually saw Kai and Mamamoo perform live yesterday at the Kpop flex Concert in Frankfurt it was sooo good 😊
Please react T-ara!!! they're so good!!! (lovey-dovey, day by day, cry cry, Roly poly etc.)
ok, but all of the actually live vocal performances 😭 I miss those so much! Now they have to have a sheen of perfection and its just a lot less fun.
20:32 me gustas tu not Gfriend debut song... They debut in 2015... Me gustas tu actually song in 2015 not 2016.. The youngest member are like 16/17... Not 14
Well, CL once said: They’re laughing at us because we are all different and we are laughing at them because they are all the same.
That's why 'Spring Day' is called the queen of all songs.
Brave girls "Rollin" was the pandemic cinderella story midst of disbandment, you should watch "What Happened to Brave Girls - How They Broke The Kpop Charts"...

This should tell you that Korean and international tastes are quite different.
Eunji is from Apink.
We see that sometimes here in the US too, when songs become a hit years after it’s initial release. Like Lizzo’s Truth Hurts, released in 2017 but a huuge hit in like 2019
rollin became viral after so long because of a fan compilation on a korean yt channel of them performing rollin for the sk army soldiers and that video went insanely viral and it saved them from disbandment, they were literally moving out from their dorm already at the time.
spring day is just SO iconic and has so much meaning (i'm unsure if you've seen the spring day explanation video regarding the horrific sewol ferry tragedy and if you haven't i really recommend you to) . a video i always find very wholesome is Wanna One and IU's reaction when they performed spring day on MMA 2017. the first chord and they were shook,, very relatable lol.
I think this chart is on idol category. I mean, I remember the overall chart was always dominated by soloist or singer-songwriter, most of them are in ballad genre. In the real chart you'll see IU almost every year, or AKMU, Bol4, Park Hyoshin, Paul Kim, etc
oh this video collected only Idol's song on melon chart. there is way more other singers songs in top 10 but they were all deleted in this chart. t.t
I really hope you guys watch another video of real annual melon top 10 later!
