    Another Streamliner has returned this week! First we had S307 by the SRHC, now we have A62 by 707 Operations!

    I have great memories of these beasts (plus A60 and A70) on the Stony Point pass with 2 harris cars in both these liveries. Hope 707 keeps the v/line pass mark 2 livery on 62. And so good to see both of them moving in mainline preservation. Well done to all involved! 🙌 PS excellent captures Pannier.

      I would like to see one of them get the tangerine and grey, one of them keep blood and bone so A66 can get it's bicentennial livery back. But I'm not holding out hope.

    Excellent video and great work by all the team at 707 Operations. I hope they keep it in this livery, it complements their pass cars very well & will also look good running with R707.

    Magnificent!
    Congratulations to all those who toiled and gave their time and expertise in restoring this marvelous locomotive.
    Is there a reason why A 62 could not lead A 66 outward or return?
    A 62 was Australia's first diesel loco to run a million miles, thus has a plaque. Did she ever have a name like Sir Harold Clapp (A 60?). It would be nice if she had a nameplate.

      im guessing a62 doesnt have ICE radio fitted yet, so it can't lead

      @@jimsmowingofficialthat and it was more a test run, they were stopping to check on it quite often. Last thing they needed was it failing and another loco having to collect it.
      I do hope it does another run with A66 though.

      Only place the locos could run around, short of going all the way to Seymour, and clear of main line if any problems.

    Great video Adam, was certainly fantastic seeing 62 running in the old VLP mk2 livery again like years gone by. Great to see it out and about again. Look forward to more trips with it.

    They should repaint all these former Victoria Railway rolling stock to their original colour of blue and gold. I drove these locomotives in the 1960s when they were "B" class. Do you realise these locos are 71 years young. 😳 1952---- 2023 ( everlasting life, I'm sure ) Best loco ever made. Simply love ❤ them . 🚂🚂🚂🤠

      Unfortunately VIC culture is keep things for 35-40 years then either drastically overhaul it to keep it in service for another decade or so, or retire it. Given the A's and P's were already rebuilt and there was only a few them in service anyway, I suspect that's why they weren't overhauled. Am definitely glad some are being preserved though.

    A62 needs orange and grey livery

    • @aidanthomas2510
      @aidanthomas2510 Год назад +1

      Whether it's A62 or A60 I hope one of them gets it, because I would love to see A66 go back into it's bicentennial livery for it's inevitable preservation. Even with A62 & 60 I suspect there'd be anarchy if A66 wasn't preserved. Would love to see a P class get the orange and grey too.
      I would like to see one of them keep the blood and bone though, it looks good on them.

      Surely a couple will make moves into the preservation circle. And hopefully one will be out on display at the railway museum? They have been an integral part of Victoria's transport scene since the 80s.

    • @Aaron-eb1ji
      @Aaron-eb1ji Год назад +6

      @@92roxx163I can’t see any going to the museum for a long time as they’re still too good to be static. Majority of N’s will go to freight, most older freight locos will then be retired.
      It’ll be the end of an era when they’re finished at pass. Least I’ve had my opportunity to drive them 🙂

  • @fasold2164
    @fasold2164 Год назад

    The horns on the front part of the locos look extremely ugly and they impair the sight of the engine driver. So why not mount them on the roof?

    • @kevkoala
