I got to record Taylor’s vocals as an assistant engineer on this upcoming record and lemme tell ya, it was amazing. Dude has such insane vocal chops. Tracking and editing his vocals is definitely a highlight of my career so far.
I recorded this song and mixed it and I can verify that in those moments he's rolling his Rs. I still remember the session we were laughing our asses off! 😅
I believe I saw Taylor say in a short or story that he rolls his tongue (like a Spanish rr) on some of his vocals to get a unique sound. Something to play with for sure. EDIT: Of course I shot my wad early like usual and you talk about this later in the video. I’ll start waiting til I watch the whole thing before commenting from now on 😂
The flipping the head left and right to get that worble sound, CJ McCreery did it on "Dragged Through The Inferno", when he screamed "When will you learn your fucking lesson?".

I’m not a metalhead by any means, but I’m definitely appreciative of the genre and have really liked what I’ve heard so far. I grew up under the assumption that metal is just noise and now I see it as an art because being able to scream the way these artists do is incredible. I really appreciate the way you break songs down and analyze them because a lot of people still don’t realize the talent these people have.
I just wanna show appreciation for the use of Kim's pronouns! You're an ally braaa! Its also awesome to see how much you enjoyed this track! Its sooo good!!
There’s listening to music. Then there’s listening to music with you. Thanks for all your work and your time. You’ve helped me respect music, artists and the true art of listening. 🙏🏻
So I have been doing the nixon/Donald duck shaking head growl with my daughters for “daddy monster” for a while with false chords and I always thought it was unique 😞. Then I realized there’s nothing unique ever.
Definitely get the whole burnt out on metal/deathcore bit you mentioned. Recently was feeling that myself and ISIS, Pelican, Red Sparrowes, and a bit of Kal-El was fitting the bill. Megaton Sword is also a fun ol' time.
@@Twizzybeatzz But it was never gone is my point. There's still plenty of deathcore that's coming out, whether you like it or not. It's still flourishing.
@@spitz5183 Depends on the person, my dude. Deathcore can get a little samey just like every other genre from time to time. There is truth in that statement. When you hear statements that involve a genre being "dead" it is not indicating that their are zero bands making music in that genre. You on the other hand made that very statement when the genre is getting stale to some, while not to others, which is a subjective discussion.
ive been watchin you for about 2-3 years ago, learned many of things as ive been practicing and self teaching since about 21-22 being 30 now & single dad as well, anyways seeing you this hype for these 2 gents is awesome! LTS has come in like a damn storm & Kim i literally just found out about 2 or 3 days ago. Love this, you & everything about this video reaction in general.
The only other vocalist I've personally seen do a head shake technique while delivering vocals was Vincent Bennett from The Acacia Strain, but he did it to mimic a studio effect on BTM FDR. Super cool and it definitely did the thing he was trying to do.
Wow, I do my Vocals (weird to say that, i didnt feel thats real vocals until I saw more of your videos who show stuff I can do in the way or bit different you talk about, so I guess i can say i do vocals xD) in the car, sometimes more than a half hour, sometimes less but most times its between 20 and 40 minutes and since 3 or 4 weeks i discovered new ways and since then it feels i can do it the whole day. Before it wasnt bad, my voice didnt hurt (since 7 months in to be fair xD) and i am not exhausted or something like that. And now you say, 1 hour is a nice goal and thats awesome to hear because its a goal i achieved and thought this would be only the first or second step :D Thank you for that! Began to try and learn it in 2021/22 seriously (really try to figure out what works, what hurts and so on) and your videos show me how far I have become. Watched your videos something around 2020/21 and the only thing I could do was lower my voice and let my voice "flatter" (is that even a word? I am german, sorry but hope you know what I mean xD) and today I dont even know how to do it without a real growl :D To and my book here, thank you again, enjoy your videos with minecraft here :D
As another dad with a lot of body tension, you should get yourself a mouth guard if you don't have one. Not just for nights, I wear one all the time (I work from home) and just grind on it. It helps so much with jaw issues. Love the content
i think i disagree with the jaw shake vocal thing is done, taylor barber did it in Dissapoint Me too, and its very similar to the "velociraptor vocals" type sound some guys do. I think its a tongue vibration thing, like rolling your rs in spanish. You can hold that vibration out and put vocals through it and it sounds pretty nuts.
@@rosssalisbury1412 yeah and that being said the jaw shake shit sounds cool as hell and definitely should be utilized in a more goofy sound like brojob. shit sounds like Tanzanian Devil it's awesome

I'm so so glad you guys saw this. Amazing reaction and amazing song 🤘🏻😂

lets frkn goo!!! Taylor is a fucking beast. Him and Will Ramos man, give me fuckin chills from their music.

Hell yeah!
@Kardavox Academy First time I've ever heard someone roll their Rs in a scream was Hunter Madison of Hunt the Dinosaur in their song Bloodshot

Poor box.... never saw it coming. The best when random things die (CRIT DIE ROLL) from Le Sword. Love it!!
As long as deathcore has melody I’m all for it.

I love the rolling r, it’ll take me some practice but it’s a nice and simple sound that’s also unique, Taylor is nothing if not original, the goat 🐐
