Frank Mullen and Luc Lemay are my go-to vocalists for old-school death metal inspiration. Both have that grit that I love but the way they both enunciated their words was just so "clear."

IMO all deathcore fans need to check out Suffocation, they were arguably the first death metal band to take influence from NYHC and bring in elements like breakdowns, I classify Suffocation along with Dying Fetus, Skinless, Dehumanized and Aborted almost as proto-deathcore, all the OG first wave deathcore bands grew up on this stuff so this stuff is super important even just from a historical context in understanding how deathcore became deathcore
Also I'm hyped as fuck because Suffocation are coming to my city in a few weeks, I live in Hermosillo, Mexico (just a few hours south of Arizona!) and bands NEVER come here, I'm honestly still in disbelief that were getting a Suffo gig next month! LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!

@@KardavoxAcademy hoooooooo baby were they fucking good live, absolutely unreal how sick they were... I even got a bit of space near the back of the pit to do some karate spinkicks and because shows are so rare here there isn't that antagonistic "metalheads vs hardcore kids" dynamic, it was a blast!

Just discovering your channel. I love how in depth you’re going. I’d like to say the reason I much prefer death metal over deathcore (Although typically deathcore vocalists are much more diverse with their technique) is the fact that there’s so much focus over breakdowns and half tempted sections where with death metal it’s about sheer aggression. It’s a high speed pummeling assault with significantly more complex songwriting and musicianship (compared to most deathcore bands)

I'm not the one to make suggestions nor ask for request but I'm shocked no one asked for Resolve's Older Days (with the insane features of Zelli and Aaron).
That song is a treat when it comes to vocal style. Having 3 vocalist bouncing off from one another on such a unique track is the coolest thing ever.

Suffocation are OG's, that breakdown in Liege of Inveracity pretty much started a movement (in deathcore and elsewhere) with many bands trying to emulate that sound. DISEMBODIED TYRANT/SYNESTIA - THE POETIC EDDA (FT. BEN DUERR OF SHADOW OF INTENT) might be right up your alley, though it's more deathcore-ey

I also agree that you should discuss other genres in your channel, such as death metal, black metal, slam, grindcore, metalcore, hardcore, etc. With that being said, you should check out Disentomb, Pathology, Cryptopsy, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Esophagus, Abominable Putridity, Full Of Hell, Napalm Death, Resolve, LANDMARKS, ten56, Johnny Booth and Chamber.
