I have a 96 vlx I'm working on. Been trying to find a video on carb removal/installation. THANK YOU SO MUCH. By far the best and clearest video I've found. Keep up the great work and thank you again.
I just finished taking out the carbs on my '93 Shadow 600, and this video of yours was very helpfull! Thanks a lot, you saved me from a lot of trouble 😅 Greetings from some guy in the Netherlands 🙋🏻♂️
Thanks man! Glad they’re helping you out. Also that’s cool that I’m helping out someone from overseas! Have fun with it. I love it so much more now that it’s my work.
Ya there’s the screen filter in the petcock and then the in line filter under the seat. And ya that’s the issue I was having with the exception that I couldn’t even get up to that speed. But now that everything is clean it runs tip top. A bit of advice though, if you replace stuff like filters or pumps or even the gas cap, buy OEM stuff. My $20 pump never worked. I have it gravity fed right now, but I need to buy the $200 Honda pump. May Amazon gas cap sucks too…. 😂
Not sure what you mean? Do you mean the throttle cable that attaches down by the idle screw? If so refer to the 9:08 minute mark on the video. Hope that helps. If not, please clarify as my terminology for this stuff is very limited!
@@kevin2298 ohhhh ya I do not know anything about that unfortunately. I may even have an idle line on mine, but all I did was remove hoses and put them back in the same spot. I assume yours will look different. If you’re on Facebook there’s a great Honda shadow customs page where people have a lot more answers for stuff like this. Best of luck man!
Check the plugs for spark. Do you have a fuel pump? Check that. My carbs were really bad but it still ran. It ran terrible but the point is it ran. Unless it’s so clogged up and there’s not gas running through it.
@@markferioli208 i’ll check that. I dont want to go to a garage if its just a small stupid thing i can fix myself. I’ve been so annoyed that its not starting😂
@@praizes3650 I just had mine all cleaned up and I put it back together after being off it for awhile. It ran well for like a minute but wouldn’t stay running. Turns out it was a fuel pump. But if yours won’t start at all it sounds like it’s electrical
@@praizes3650 ohhh I thought it wasn’t starting at all. Has it been sitting for awhile? At the very beginning, mine was sitting for awhile and the gas clogged it all up. The slides in the carb could be stuck open allowing it to idle but it will flood out when you give it gas.
Perfect video, T-Minus 14hrs before I rip mine out and install

@@dantemiles8198 Awesome! Thanks for the feedback man! I tried not leave anything out.

Hello from Greece. I wane to know the mm of carburater to put new airfilter aftermarket, if you know. Thanks
Hi! Unfortunately I have no idea. I kept my stock filter on so I didn’t need to find out. Best of luck.
Great video! Thanks a lot!!
You’re welcome, glad it helped out!
I just started tearing mine apart and need help, this is it!!! 100%
Thanks! Glad it helped out man!
Is that fuel filter stock? My bike runs good but after in 3rd at 55 it hesitates and bucks..I’m thinking fuel starvation due to a dirty carb

How'd you get the idle screw line off

My man said protip I put one finger on one side and one finger on the other side and shimmied It Off you don't believe in channel locks
Channel locks would apply too much pressure for what I was doing and they wouldn’t fit in that space anyways.

Ya but simply removing anything by the book never goes as planned.
