It’s a reference to Dimetrodon which, ironically, wasn’t a dinosaur at all but rather a proto-mammal. The name Dimetrodon means “two measures of teeth” in reference to the animal’s varying tooth sizes. Translated literally, the name Dimetrosaur would mean “two measures of lizard” or “two measures of reptile”.

Actual paleontologist here: The name “Dimetrosaur” (probably pronounced die-met-ro-saur) is most likely a reference to Dimetrodon, a synapsid (ancestor to mammals) that had a sail on its back similar to the dinosaur in the game (which is clearly based on Spinosaurus).
I should also mention that the “flying dinosaurs” aren’t actually dinosaurs at all. They’re pterosaurs, which shared a common ancestor with dinosaurs but weren’t dinosaurs themselves.

1 year ago, when I started watching Oneyplays I saw this video. When they played Dimetrosaur I thought them reading the dialogue was actually the game and I was confused to say the least.

I want to see one of these visual novel games where a guy who knows broken English writes the dialogue for 99% of the characters, then someone who actually speaks English writes one character and any narration. He just has to work with this weird script that's hard to understand and guide his character through it the best he can.
