🥘 If you are here wondering what was for lunch - it was buckwheat with chicken and mushrooms in sour cream sauce. I just stewed some chicken fillet with onions, mushrooms, a spoonful of flour, sour cream, and water. And boiled buckwheat. It's a pretty weird grain and there's a big chance you won't like it but this stew goes well with pasta or rice as well.

@@lilyanasilva2025 I'm sure they're fine. She did the same thing last year when she went to visit her family in Russia for a month while her husband was in Turkey for his graduation. Her husband just went to a church thing in Serbia a few days ago and kept posting stories about it on his IG, so she's probably with her family in Russia again.

I had a friend when we both had young kids, and she used to periodically rearrange the furniture. I think it was her way of giving herself a fresh perspective from time to time.
I used to change my bedroom furniture around once a month when I was in high school lol

Happy New Year Vika, Tolya, and your beautiful girls... I didn't celebrate Christmas this year, so had no festive decorations to remove. My sister died suddenly at the end of November and her funeral was on the 22nd Dec. She loved Christmas! This year I didn't feel like celebrating, in December 2024 I will be hanging every festive decoration possible to celebrate and honour her. Wishing you all the best for 2024!

I agree with you. I’m always excited to decorate for a holiday and then excited to get the house back to normal afterwards. It’s fun watching your girls grow-Adeline is definitely a toddler now, no longer a baby, and Agatha so much enjoyed taking down the decorations and cooking, both with you and real food and then with her Play Dough food and real condiments.

I love how you share your cooking skills. I live in Arizona, United States. We primarily use sour cream as a condiment. After we make spicy food, a dollop of sour cream is often served on top of the food or on the side. We also have great sour cream here, we have access to Mexican sour cream here and it's very good. I have never actually cooked sour cream in my food though, until I saw how common it was over where you are, and I decided to give it a try. Now I am hooked! So delicious in many meat dishes! Thank you!

Because probably nobody is showing off bunch of products forcing me to buy them consumerism and constantly making people feel bad for not having “enough”! Agatha is really becoming her own person now, it’s so cool to be seeing your family since Agatha was Adeline’s age and just seeing how you all develop but younger people go through so many more changes in shorter times it’s so fascinating watching them learn language and figure out motor skills etc until they eventually get independent and can problem solve based on the things you’ve taught them like Agatha seems to be becoming

Happy New Year to all. I spent Christmas Eve with my family. Snowy day 24th Dec was beautiful. I only decorated a little, not all I have was necessary this year. Little handcraft here. Else I watched some Christmas concerts and visited Christmas markets in Liseberg, Gothenburg and Oslo in December ❤
I remember the Göteborg Christmas market from when I studied there over a decade ago! Tiny donuts and twisted saffron buns. And the Lucia concert I attended at Hagakrykan.

Hello Vika and family. I am so glad you are all well again. Agatha is such a wonderful helper. She seems content to do everything with no complaining. Little Adeline is growing up quickly too. Such a cute smile. The snow looks beautiful. We are having our first beautiful cool day here after sweltering for weeks in Australia. Temperatures in some parts of Australia have reached 47 degrees celsius. We get high humidity along the coast too. We are looking forward to winter this year.
Agatha was the star of this episode! love putting up Christmas decor and enjoy seeing it in my house. But once we start getting more daylight in January, I love taking it down and make the house look more airy. And I will be trying your chicken stew recipe.

Glad you got the cooktop. If it works well, I wouldn't upgrade it yet. Maybe you can put it in the cupboard or on top of the microwave, after it cools down, when it's not in use.

I agree about decorations… they come down right after Christmas.
I will take my tree down later this week. My youngest son leaves to go back to Seminary tomorrow, so after he is gone, I will take it down. I love having the lights turned on, along with candles burning (not near the tree), It's been below zero degrees here for a couple of weeks, and dark even during daylight, so the lights have been nice to have.
