    1997-2001 Toyota Camry LE is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. My parents owned one and they said it was a really good choice to get as a first car. I was also pretty surprised at how much aftermarket support these cars got. Plus you can stand out in the car community cause there's bodykits for these cars I haven't seen anyone on the internet apply yet.

    • @Dark_Flame_Master
      @Dark_Flame_Master Год назад

      I feel like many of the cars in the video are actually more expensive in Europe (in my case germany) than in the vid, especially if you want it to be in decent condition. I really like the Mitsubishi Eclipse 2g even though I will probably never own one and all the ones that I saw online for less than 3000€ (3k$ actually equals around 2700€) were toasted/preowned by 8 people/etc. Most of them were in the 6000-10000€ range actually.

  • @jclouw321
    @jclouw321 Год назад +28

    So a few things about the 2G Eclipse:
    1) they never came in a “GT” trim. The 1st and 2nd gen DSM’s went by RS, GS (slightly nicer NA FWD), GS-T for FWD turbo, and GSX for AWD turbo.
    2)The 420A in the NA Eclipse is NOWHERE NEAR as good as the 4g63 in the turbo Eclipses. You’re comparing a Dodge Neon engine to the Lancer Evo engine, lol. We all know 4G63’s are capable of 1000hp+, while the 420A would be lucky to hit 250hp without blowing up. A great car still, but not in the same ballpark.
    3) I would absolutely NOT recommend a 2G DSM this far on for less than $3k. I can guarantee any you find now for that price will be clapped beyond redemption. I sold my 2G GS for $4k, and that was back in 2020. I would spend a minimum of $4.5k for a clean NA and no less than around $8-10k for a GS-T and $12k+ for a clean GSX these days, at least if you want to drive it more than work on it.

  • @JhoanciCarmona
    @JhoanciCarmona Год назад +4

    I really like your videos but when you said “you’re an idiot scion is a Toyota” I had to comment. I’m an actual tech and the turbo cruze is one of the most unreliable cars you can buy. GM turbos are extremely cheap and fail all the time once the car nears 100k miles. The turbo shaft is very cheap which gives it a lot of play resulting in bent turbo propellors and your turbo housing walls will have scuffing and damage from this. The propellers also crack which just leads to worse damage. If you would’ve done some
    Research and if you’re able to use a manual service software like ALLDATA or Mitchell ProDeman then you will see the super overly long list of TSB’s for this car. These are not a great first option you’ll deal with turbo issues which will cost $700+ to repair and any other damage caused by the broke pieces. Not only that they also tend to have start up and ignition system issues nearing once near 100k miles as well. A bunch come into yo shop the water pumps also tend to give out while driving and causes overheating issues. Don’t think high school kinds have enough money for these fixes which will happen over and over again once new parts are used unless you’ve gone after market

    It seems you dont know much about cars.
    "Turbocharged cars is more reliable" nope, straight up wrong, its the other way around.
    The older generation of Toyota Celica before 2000 was good but 2000-2003 had alot of problems including oil problems making the motor die out around 113k miles. On that you said "It comes with a 1.8L with 170hp" sorry mate but it seems you havnt done your research since it comes with 143, 182 or 192......yeah nah you gotta stop yapping about stuff you dont know.
    The VW Jetta has tons of problems too, one specific model from a certain year is good but the one u showed is not lol. Every 20-30k miles the water pump gotta be changed. And the 2.5 has thin and fragile. If you push it too hard it will blow on you.
    Through the long list of all the best volvo's you go with the 240.... still reliable compared to OTHER Brands but to s60 or v70 not close..
    Audi A4.... you heard about Oil consumption problems? Classic Audi problems, yeah nice one mate you found a car that will cost more to maintain/repair than to buy throughout the first year.
    bmw 328i, generally alot bmw is the opposite of "Reliable" the 500 series is fairly reliable but the 300 series....nah wrong pick pal... again again. max 100k - 150k miles out of those if lucky
    The point your putting a "BMW 328i e46" before Honda Civic is just enough to tell you know sh#t about cars its actually insane..
    Do your research mate.

    J series accords and TLs are good first cars too. My j30a1 02 accord is a fun car to drive the downside is the trans that’s about it really. You can get a h series too. Plan on getting a cd5 h22. Honda are good cars. Toyotas are too. V6 Chrysler 300 with the 3.5 good cars too. Had a v6 Chrysler 300 as my first car lasted me 4 years. But there good cars though. But this is a good list fr.

    75% of this list is a lie, most of those cars are not under 3k and if they are they need more that 6k worth of parts to get them running

    My first car was W211 220D estate. My experience is terrible when it comes to reliability as I bought it broken I didn’t knew but found out later. Lovely car. The ass is ugly as shit but the face is a bomb. I watch it everyday and love it. I go into corners with 60-80kph and it’s good. It’s a ship tho and it is not so maneuverable like the 190. Still the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven.

    Back in 2008 I bought a showroom quality 95 240sx for 5k with 132,000. I could of bought a s13 with same quality and miles for 3k. Both of these cars probably won't make your 10k list because of how much they're selling for these days.

    I got a 2002 Ford explorer XLT 4.6L V8 handed down to me from my dad. It's not the best if I were to have spent money on it, but for free, it's fucking awesome. 240hp is still more than all my friends lol

    This is so crazy to me, i live in ireland and u have a 6L v8 cadilac on the list bro how tr do you get insurance on something like that?! Here u need like 20 years driving experience and have zero claims just to even get an insurance quote for something like that and even then its gunna be like €4000 a year 😂 same thing for even like 2.5L engine. As a new driver here if ur car isnt like a 1.0L yaris you wont even get insured on it and the minimum would be like 2000€ p.a
    Like im so jealous u guys have super cheap fuel prices and sooo much less restrictions on engine sizes emissions etc. here also if your car is older than 15 years its hard to get insurance. So ur pretty much forced to get a new shitty 1.4L max car or be absolutely violated by road tax and insurance and petrol prices 😢

  • @Elfenninacozyinn

    Damn bro that Lexus with a 4.0L engine i would be paying 300€ a month for my basic car insurance xD. I envy americans, you guys can drive whatever car you want, here in EU we get some nasty taxes if the car is old and if it has a big engine. EX: For my honda civic 1.8 petrol and 141hp im paying 150€ per month, but the cost will go down eventually when i'll be 24 and i'll be getting out of the risk class 😅
    EDIT: Sux even more if you love old cars because there is an old-timer extra tax if you use your "old-timer" as a daily drive because you don't have a newer car model as a daily. We get really punshed here for the climate damage cars do, the bigger the engine the more tax you pay for polution :d

    I want the Toyota Soarer/Lexus it's by far cheap but not cheap when yoy wanna ship it for 5-6k to Canada/Edmonton. Japanese selling them for 2-5k which I would die for but I'm no wear near one which I'd have to spend 9k or 10k just to have the car at my face on the drive way but still 10k ain't bad for a sexy car

    do not buy an Acura TL as a high schooler, especially if you don't have the money to maintain it, gas mileage sucks ass, around about 16 in the city and 26 on the highway and premium gas on top of that, hard to work on everything on that car is made impossible to fix, and parts are expensive. they are fun but not a high schooler car

    This is what I don’t understand people who make list like this which just makes no sense you’re showing a bunch of euro cars for three grand any of those cars are you give me three grand I’m going to be shit you’re not going to be able to drive them you’re going to be in the shop more than I can so this this is just trash. You put BMWs ahead of Honda or even Miata and they’re more reliable and more realistic for you to be able to get one of those cars to that price, but we can actually drive all those Beamers all those out you just submitted on the list is trash because if you get those cars for 3K more than likely something really bad wrong with them so why put them on the list you can always put a Mercedes or over expensive car for under three grand it’s gonna be shit why not making list of cars they can actually under three grand
