Just a note we will be lowing the pivot points on this kart to keep it from lifting the suspension and widening the axles soon. Thank you for watching and supporting!
My son had 87 Bayou 220 years ago and it did the same thing. It does have a spring. Two of them actually. His had broken i replaced both and didn't have any issues after that. At least until he dropped and bent the intake valve. Lol. But I'm sure your daughter won't abuse this engine like he did his. They are a great little engine. Tough as nails. Love the buggy. Keep up the wonderful videos! Much Love guys.
Just a PSA, when using sealant on small engines, and atv engines and such. Use Super Grey RTV, Yamabond, or Hondabond. These do not break down from gasoline or oils.
Red Beard's Garage anything works in a pinch! I just saw that blue stuff and figured I would explain why it broke down and was all I’ve the place on you!
Bayou engines are tough. I wish people would change the oil in stuff, it really is critical for long engine life!! Looks like the cart turned out well. Dang, that exhaust is LOUD. :)
I'm so happy you did this. I am about to start on a project similar to this but im using a old Fourtrax 300 motor. I am going to buy a 4 seater kart from my buddy and put some old full size bucket seats.
You did a good job. I had a Honda Odyssey back when. Cooling was a known issue on them and will be on your machine once the weather warms up. Consider adding an oil cooler mounted up high to catch cool air as you ride. I love creativity!
'm a newbie to your shows. I love the content and the great camera work. I did notice one thing that gets to me. Why don't you clean the motors before working on them? It prevents more dirt from getting in and helps find broken castings and missing bolts. You have a super clean shop, far nicer than mine and I'm now a subscriber.
Nice build Red Beard the cart holding up well, Because you & your wife are VERY HEALTHY people. Love the build, keep on keeping on my RUclips friend....
Honestly this build has really inspired me to build a sxs for my kids. Think I'm gonna pick up another bayou 300 and hack it apart and build a frame around it and send it.

Haha,yah,yah!!!Lol...02/27th 2020 I just bought a massimo supersize mb200 last night for my 12yr old son (and me). I've researched it for 4 hours and everywhere I looked this cool bike showed up with almost 5 star rating and got it from a seller with 100% approval rating. I'm hoping it's not banged up or anything lol..this is my first bike since I had a kdx80 at 13yrs old so it's been a while.Whats the first steps when I receive this beast?Like regular or premium, what's the best oil best chain, best everything! Because I'm on a limited income and if I mess it up that's pretty much the end of it.👍😀
RBG very torquey setup. Seems too quick for Aubrey. What's up with the shop build? Maybe a video building a scissor lift table with air over hydraulic lift ram.
I would say your pinion angle is lifting the rear end. In a normal car you want about 3 degrees of equal but opposite angle on your rear end and transmission. You can tweak that for optimum performance and u joint life among other things.
Is it possible you have too much angle between the output shaft and the rear end? Possibly lower the motor to get a straighter shot. Probably why your splines wore the way they did.
Hello I like this buggy I have been looking for one of these frames to do some engine swap my self any way good job if it was me I would put rear wheel spacers on it take care and always look forward to your builds.
The oil filter should have a spring pushing the filter on the engine. When the filter gets to dirty to let oil through,it pushes the filter out of the way to let unfiltered oil through to keep lubrication.
Man that thing is awesome, I love it. Also, I was surprised when I saw your Pittsburgh fiber composite ratchet, I love mine, it's such a great ratchet!
Friends has one like that. But there's is a 4 seater. The motor is off a Honda Goldwing Motorcycle. Cause it's powerful and it's automatic also with reverse.
Can you show how you made the go kart shifter linkage been looking to do this kinda thing to mine for an atv engine as well and im glad i stumbled across your video here :)
Are you going to make a video on the latest verison of the duromax 7hp? It says 196cc on the website but the one i ordered and recieved says 208cc on the cover and its stamped 208cc on the block.
I have a old dazon raider 150 single seater that I swapped a 1986 Honda Trx 200cc motor into its nice because it’s got e start and pull start and it’s got 5 gears with no clutch
Turned out looking good but you could have cleaned off the old grease and leaves off first back in the beginning as it seems that the old grease and leaves are still on it that all should have been cleaned to start with
Hey man I’ve got a Kawasaki bayou 220 do you know how hard it would be to change the shift shaft in one? My broke and is also stripped so I need to replace it. Any ideas on how to do it? Thanks
RBG - does anyone know of an output shaft that can be mounted on any motorcycle engine? Basically converting chainring to driveshaft which of course would need to be 90° towards the rear. Wasn’t sure what that eBay part you got looked like.
I hurd you could buy the stage 2 kit for a 420 predator cheaper than the predator at harbor freight? Did i hear that correct? Because i cant find that deal. Help please
Looks good man! I’m new to the karting world and wondered if you could answer a couple questions for me. About how tall are you? And approximate weight? I got my daughter a Monster Moto Kart and Bike for her birthday and I’m looking to get a kart that for me so we can go riding together. I’m 6’2’ and weigh about 300 lbs (lol). I know I can’t fit on her kart so finding one that I can fit into and won’t have problems hauling my fat butt around would be awesome. Any information you have that could help me out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
looks really good bud this is a really great build. thanks for all the info red beards you explain things so great thanks bud

Looks good, rear spacers and a set of 12 inch rims will really make that stand out and give it good ground clearance, and a camo paint job 👍
Some rear wheel spacers would look pretty cool on this kart
We are going to widen the axle on a later video. We just wanted to ride it for now
Red Beard's Garage plus some bigger tires
Had one of those 4wheelers back in the day they run lean butt around good machine engine to a beating when tune right good motor for that cart
Just a PSA, when using sealant on small engines, and atv engines and such. Use Super Grey RTV, Yamabond, or Hondabond. These do not break down from gasoline or oils.
We will replace it when we pull the engine off at a later date for powder coat. Thanks for the heads up brother.

Put tracks on the back and I'll run it during the winter too

Everytime you ran over the water hose on the side of your house I had flashbacks of my father yelling at me for doing the same thing 😁
I remember pulling a branch with the lawm mower. Caught the water hose and broke the PVC water line. Drained the well by the time dad got home lol
Lol I thought about that when editing the video
Ive caught my water hose 3 times now on my racing kart. Ive gotten pretty fast at changing that 90 down in the ground

She can handle it. We are hoping to move in the new shop in the next month
That thing looks fun, gives me an excuse to keep my DS rear end from my old ATV around.
I would say your pinion angle is lifting the rear end. In a normal car you want about 3 degrees of equal but opposite angle on your rear end and transmission. You can tweak that for optimum performance and u joint life among other things.
Yeah we plan on lowing that pivot to keep it from lifting. Just wanted to ride it first
Is it possible you have too much angle between the output shaft and the rear end? Possibly lower the motor to get a straighter shot. Probably why your splines wore the way they did.
The splines was wore out from the ATV. If you get it in a hard bind the CV will pop. The angle I am running is perfectly fine. No binding
a good habit to do when using RTV is let it dry about 5 minutes then install. it makes it more like a o-ring and doesn't just squish out
Something I would really like to see you do is make a 4x4 kart using a atv motor like this!
Im building a hammer head gocart with a 400cc Honda TRX .
After seeing this i cant wait

I've got a question if you can help is there a 5speed or a 6speed transmission that will bolt to a Kawasaki bayou 400 4x4 engine
I found you on Roku!👍
hey buddy
Different offset wheels for the wider rear will balance it out

Are you guys still going to widen the rear trac.? Out to the width of the front wheels.
