    At first I thought this was going to be cheesy or gimmicky, then I started to watch it, and it brought me back a decade to running the mile at invitational meets, and you feel like your legs could carry you this quickly forever but knowing that it will end, and each lap you hope that girl you like sees you go by and you get that excited feeling in your legs despite the burning, and some people just walk by like nothing is happening but you're happy they were there because they distracted you from the pain for just a second, and the thrill of going into the turn with your teammates screaming for you. Awesome video with perfect musical pairing.

      @Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this Yeah, unless the girls are on the XC or distance team, girls don't get impressed by distance running.

    444 is about what some elite marathoners start off with in the first mile or so and then throw in some 438 surges to break from the pack toward the end.

    Great run man! I'm really impressed how you managed to negative split the entire race. When it comes to that, that is probably my week point as a runner. In 8th grade, I ran a first lap at 1:11 (my goal was to break 5 by the end of the school year), then I slowed down throughout the race and ran a 5:01. I am now a freshman, and with the track season just starting, I'm hoping to break 5 in our first meet, and my goal for the end of the season is to break 4:50.

    I thought the significant thing here was going to be the sub-5 minute mile. It wasn't.
    It was the 63-second 400m after running the first 1209m in 3:41.
    And the next best thing was the Go Pro. What a great tool to have for trail running. Share your escapades with your relatives, people in infirmaries and nursing homes.
    Thank you very much for posting!

    • @t0nemolina
      @t0nemolina 8 лет назад +13

      The Bombinator Why are you getting so triggered by a joke dude? Why am I "still" stupid for making that joke? It was obviously an exaggeration, no 4-year-old can run a 1600m run in 3:52. I can't believe I have to explain that.
      I don't know if you have a serious passion for track and take it really seriously or something, but you really need to chill out. I should be able to make that joke without anyone going all keyboard warrior on me. Should I make the numbers more ridiculous so it's easy to realize that it's not real?

      its good depends if your talkin about 1500m or 1600m. my 7th grade year i ran a 5:39 1600m. 8th grade wasnt much change and ran a 5:30 1600m then 9th grade i jumped up to a 5:13. now im a sophmore and run 4:50s. All it takes is dedication and practice. Because I earned skill, i had no talent.

    I bet over the course of several laps you may have accumulated about 2 pounds wearing the head gear otherwise you would have probably cut your time by twelve to fifteen seconds. I'm sure you know this already though.

    Isn't it better to just run even splits throughout?

    • @cwags1251
      @cwags1251 10 лет назад

      Yes... except that is near impossible

    • @todlawson1263
      @todlawson1263 10 лет назад

      cwags1251 That is false. I've run 4:22 and I'm now a master runner. Even splits up until the last lap is the way to go and if you look at the top guys who've broken 3:50 and beyond, they come very close running even. No, not exactly, so don't take it so literally. The last lap is like the last anything, everything that you have.

    I'm in 8th grade rn and my best is 5:14. I'm looking to beating the record which is 5:03 , we do a mile every Friday and there's only about 3 left until school is over. Does anyone have any tips to improving and maybe, just maybe running a sub 5 minute mile ? I'm the fastest out of 1000 middle schoolers and everyone is depending on ME to break the record ..I can keep a pace but I always end up slowing down at the last minute
