Aum Gandhi yes. Feebay
My local auction house went online for Covid, and implemented a "adds 2 minutes if someone bids in the last 2 minutes" policy, so no sniping XD

I’ve never seen anyone win while being so focused on who’s behind them.
Exactly!
Correlation vs causation perhaps? Someone looking back a lot is possibly much more likely to be out of gas and thus hoping they've already made enough of an effort to win whereas someone with something left in the tank is more likely to focus on squeezing out whatever they have left.

@@mindofaseagull7465 he meant something like agility, the marathon guy was obviously exhausted to the bone and he was still fast af meanwhile even when we speed up imidiately after starting running we cant even reach that speed or even maintaining sprinting for that long, momentum cant help a fatass to run faster than a marathon man
Never look back- it gives the person behind you hope that you can't hold your pace
Naaahhh
THATS what I told my girlfriend...
@@JonSmith-cx7gr bahahaha
This is an oddly fitting inspirational quote.
Yes, you do look back. You are missing information, that the other person behind you has. Thats why race cars still have mirrors and intercoms telling them whats going on.
And with running at a certain point the mental game is just super huge. If you cant see, you cant use your brain, plan or just go psycho.
It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning!

Just imagining how exhausted they are, makes me feel exhausted.

I took a nap before watching this. Now i feel sleepy again..
Some of them are probably experiencing runner's high, so I guess, it's not so bad.
What are the length of each levels they did? I don’t really know how triathlons work but I’m curious
lmaoo what a bunch of sleepyhead we are 😂😂
Imagine having the camera pointed at you for the rest of the race just for someone to beat you last second
Yeah that is why you won't ever do it.. Oops! sorry........
As a decent high school cross country runner, I know the adrenaline and incredible pain both runners went through
Same, I feel very tired and worn out after a 3 mile race I couldn't imagine what kind of exhaustion the runners in the video are battling
I always gotta respect the people who are able to sprint past me at the end. I usually try to find them after the race to tell them good job.

I have a lot of respect for Kris Gemmell, even tho he didn't win, he had the winners mindset.
He lose like bitch
He's lame
What a NOOB
I love the gutsy sprint. It's the constant looking back over his shoulder worrying about the field instead of keeping his focus forward and giving every ounce of energy he had to the finish line that took away his win. I'd have much more respect for him if he made his move, gave it his all, and got passed, but never once looked back and thought maybe I'll save some extra in case someone else wants to race. He doubted himself in a race where the only one he was really competing with was in his own shoes.
R u insane? Choosing the wrong tactic when u r 200n from winning after covering like a 100 miles is NOT winner mindset u loon! Anyone who competed in track knows u can’t break so early when everyone is bunched up like that, he just lost his nerves a bit
My running coach used to say to never look back during a race lmao
Yeah, if I had a lead I always felt my imagination of another runner right on my heels helped me keep up the pace. If I really new I had a decent lead I might have eased off a bit.
Yeah I just like to think of it as me trying to beat time not the other racers. So I’m other words give it your absolute all like you’re sprinting by yourself.
Falco Aarts exactly. That’s why race cars have mirrors. Why waste your energy running faster than you need and risk your legs giving out before you can even finish.
this is the prob if someone is on your heels than he's conserving energy because you have full air resistance meanwhile he has much less. Cyclist do this. So if you're going for a last minute sprint you def don't want some guy right behind you and therefore spend less energy and then go full in the last 20 seconds.
@@stt.9433 Yes, drafting is a thing in cross-country and track
just noticed that Docherty got passed at 0:24 means he went all the way at the same pace as Gemmell and even faster at the very end, that's just insane 😮

At the moment he decided to sprint he knew he had 500m and needed to sprint it all. 500m can be tough, the dude who takes him over afterwards saw his concern on who was behind and I believe started his sprint from that.
Kaleu Cadl the guy who won knew exactly what he was doing, I'd bet he's a veteran... the other guy couldnt mind his own business and stay in his own lane, which is why he lost, id say he's a rookie.

@@ericastier1646 well, I can’t say you are wrong. I am naturally quite empathetic and nurturing. And being a female, it doesn’t seems that extraordinary.
@@ktbrunner1862 Ok, female are naturally more sensitive and have their own ways to compensate for that, so less worries there. Yip and im from nz so i watched this race live...not sure why it popped on my feed tho 😞
Yea why?
When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
Why the heck would you let your 11 year old son go on a race with jeans on lmao
He wore his father’s genes 🧬that day. If your son keeps it up you’ll get to see him run plenty of races!
if you go to this guys channel you'll see a video of 2 guys doing some drugs, which explains why the kid was running fast lmao

The strategy went wrong, just ten seconds later and he would have won
I don't think so, he simply smashed him in sprint. The 2nd dude had no more energy to sprint. There's a small time difference between the two of them but the 1st dude looked like he could keep it rolling for another 10-20s.
@@MrDomestosWC Well yeah, that's literally what the OP said.
@@torreywilliams6154 no? OP said he could have won if he started his sprint 10 seconds later, guy who answered said it wouldn't have mattered anyway
Martins “he simply smashed him in sprint. The 2nd dude had no more energy to sprint”. He’s implying essentially that he lost energy to sprint, thus if he conserved energy, he wouldn’t have lost it.
@@torreywilliams6154 Uh no, cuz if he started his sprint later to that effect, the other guy would've just done the same, ending in the same result.
In the last few seconds of the race of the 2nd runner he looks like the most defeated man on earth, his body language is incredible, it's like he abandons his body and deactivated any muscle not needed for these last few meters giving him a desarticulated man look @1:49
