It’s only not a true GMT if you believe that Rolex is the reference. Either the gmt hand jumps and the hour hand is slaved, or the hour hand jumps and the gmt hand is slaved. The ETA movement is just as legitimate as any other.

I'm usually not a fan of blacked-out DLC, but it really works well on this piece with those pops of colour.
Zodiac seems to be using the same movement I have on my Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Premium 500 - that cost only 1/3 the price of this. Love it even more now!

I have a Davosa Ternos GMT Black and White with the ETA GMT movement. I'm very happy with it. It's what the Explorer II should look like (and probably will this year!) with a ceramic bezel. The ETA GMT movement works just fine for me.
A very nice review, the filming is top notch. I'm gonna counter one small point. At 3:13 where you point out the color scheme as a possible reinterpretation of the 60s Era GMT and you have a great picture of the original, Zodiac already released an actual re-release of the watch shown (in 2019)....the ZO9400, actually named the Aerospace GMT. Subsequent to that release, Zodiac was given a cease and desist from Breitling who now owns the Aerospace name for watches. This is the reason all subsequent releases have been Super Sea Wolf GMT's. Keep up the great reviews!!
I've been drooling over mint green, sea foam, and tiffany blue watch dials for awhile now. Such a great color and refreshing looking.

v cool color combo but i think dlc will age poorly like all those gold plated watches from the 60s and 70s.

i got the remake of the old version with silver bezel. the watch face does not say "super sea wolf" is yours the same?
i bought a tudor gmt for a true gmt. you cant get the batman or pepsi at retail.

2:05 I don't understand? You were showing a separate GMT hand that you could set. So what IS the actual difference to a true GMT?
"True" GMT moves the hour hand. Everything else moves the 4th GMT hand. It's easier to move the hour hand forward or back. But it's a lot more expensive and not that big of a deal.
