Curtis - Don't be so hard on yourself. Your well-rounded knowledge of HVAC would impress anyone. You methodically go thru each section step by step and eventually find the problem. We all enjoy going on a call with you and learn something new each day!
As an HVAC tech myself it’s constantly a learning experience. That’s why I love the trade. Some weeks I feel like a super tech and some weeks I get humbled and think I should go wash cars for a living. Good job! I enjoy your videos
As a tech my self for 17 years we all are always still learning we never know it all that's whay I stay in the field you get a chance to learn new stuff daily I love it!
@@TCRTechLife I’ve been in the field 3 years and I know everything about everything Lol just joking everyday the more I learn the more I realize I don’t know enough, really great career
Ha Ha. In 48 years, I still makes mistakes and I suspect it will never go away. It is easy to get overwhelmed on a LV wiring ghost issue. You did good.
Not sure I would call that a mistake. It was part of your process to find the fault. You did indeed find the fault and fixed it. No mistake there to my way of thinking.
I'm an hvac tech and apt maint tech. I make mistakes. They are our greatest teachers...good to see you say that in the end. You are human!! Nice video and good work brother!
Making a mistake is ok. It's about correcting it and learning for the next time. I'm not a HVAC guy but I do work on A/C units and furnaces in the RV industry (18 yrs). Honestly I was leaning towards the t-stat at first like you did. For me, every job like this is a process of elimination if it's not obvious what the failure is. So long as the job gets completed (the right way) and within a reasonable timeframe then it's all good.
Great video 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻 we are all still Learning every day , keep them videos coming thank you 🙏🏻 for Sharing your knowledge and skills to better us or make us better technicians
Dude I think anyone would have made that mistake. I guess it could have been prevented if you checked the wires coming in from only the thermostat, but I don't think anyone would think to do that in this case. Great work.
Thank you for be humble , and not show the EGO side like everyone does especially in the HVAC trade . We all make a mistakes but not body like to talk about it . Great video ..!!
What I like about your videos is that you usually tell us what you're putting your leads on when checking for voltage. It was frustrating watching this because I had no idea where your leads were going. I may as well have been watching this video with the volume down LOL. Anyways good video. Hopefully next time you could explain where your leads are touching
Nice learning experience, initially when you looked at the thermostat, I was asking myself, is there a relay outside. Life is about learning and usually it's through experience either others or yours. Like your honesty, in your business it goes a long way .
I recently made a mistake on a bakery case, it was a call back and I terrible. I dove in fresh and figured out where I went wrong in my troubleshooting. I was honest with the customer and they were understanding. I learned and will use that for the next service call.
Having defrost boards now that handle all the mess with the relay really cleans up those electrical compartments. My guys are scared of heat pumps, they're actually quite easy if you can use a meter and a schematic
Good job on the video and excellent work correcting your mistakes. It takes a real man to own up to his mistakes...and we all make mistakes. Too bad there aren't MORE people like you in the HVAC/R industry. Too many slime balls out there that will gladly take advantage of the unsuspecting home owner. Good work!
After you found 24 on that sequencer with the thermostat off I would’ve separated the W wires at the A/h and checked to see if the signal was coming from the t-stat wire or the C/U wire.
If you don't make mistakes in this field you are not learning anything, every call is not going to be easy, sometimes you have to reach out to other techs.Good job.
I thought I had the worst troubleshooting job being an electrical contractor.. good god, this stuff looks like me when trying to find a loose neutral in a circuit in an old house
She's going to love you when she gets an electric bill that doesn't include cooling the air before blowing it over the heat strips. Found my cousin's system had the reversing valve hotwired to the Y in the unit and a bent pin at the thermostat sometime before he bought the house.

I like it. I love the size. There are some things about the 680 I miss, like the double magnets. But, it’s just huge. And I don’t always use the extra functions - actually rarely.
@@HVACGUY Yeah I was given the sc640 and that thing was stupid big lol, couldn't even close my bag with that in there. Ended up parting with it, but I did like the swivel head and inrush current in particular.

How is it like taking calls from a home warranty company? Do they set there prices?
Holy f*! Those exposed wire nuts were sketchy af. Were they covered by something that I did not see you remove?
No, Not at all. I quoted a disconnect and notified them.
