The mod was so bad a simple "the sun is leaking" meme created from it's review was spread over the entire internet in half a day after the review was posted. Amazing.
The Half-Life modding community consists of 2 very distinct groups, with no inbetween: The most talented people on the planet and the most mentally insane.
Oh wow I gotta say, surprised that Scolcer got blocked, he was one of the most forgiving streamers towards the mod while still being critical. Guess the mod authors were really that insecure lol.
7:37 important note about this code snippet is the comments were added by the guy that de-compiled the code, for your convenience. if you convert the hexadecimals, it gives you the steamid3 of each specified user.
if it's custom weapons and enemy placement additions, you can just make a mapbase mod (using one of it's templates, don't fork it otherwise users won't get updates from mapbase) and code most gameplay related things using vscript, dunno if you can add new entities but you can add new weapons, and custom npcs you can just create a generic_actor_custom and attach a script to it for it's AI as for altering existing maps, just decompile the maps and fix them up yourself if you want to go full overhaul mod
Reminds me of Kitchen Nightmares, a lot of restaurant owners cannot take simple criticism and go into denial, keep on doing what they do and make up delusions even if a popular and expert chef like Gordon Ramsay was telling them what is wrong. Overcharge is literally Amy's Baking Company rn and the devs are Amy and her husband...
Doing something like this causes a massive erosion of trust between modders and players, regardless of who the players might be. I hope Valve takes action against them and sets the standard that doing something like this is NEVER okay in ANY mod, lest we have our modding privileges revoked because of bad apples like these losers. If the devs of this mod are reading this, heed my warning: *Minecraft modders have already tried something similar to this with some of their mods and were permanently vilified by the community at large (with the only exceptions being the developer behind Corail Tombstone) and being effectively banned from ever making mods again. If you want to remain in Sourcemod purgatory or potentially even face legal issues from Valve by adding malicious code to your mods and distributing said code through Steam then don't be surprised if and when someone takes action against you, legal or otherwise.* *Poke the hornets, get stung.*
Radhaz, if you end up reading this, please pin it, I feel it's important to remind everybody of proper modding etiquette for something like this, especially considering the reasons I've already stated.
It's one thing to block someone on Twitter for criticizing your mod. It is a whole other level of insanity to hard code your game to make sure that person can't play your mod anymore. The sun isn't even leaking, it's completely spilled over at this point!
The whole thing reminds me of the debacle with L4D's Helm's Deep map, where the creator basically modified your ENTIRE L4D game to only accept mods, players, and servers he likes.

I know this because someone on the Rivals Of Aether workshop made a mod once that specific would become a hate piece for one user in particular that if you said person's mods along side it. I attempted to comment about it and how to even remove the code that triggers it, and mod creator straight up deleted it at first before I just reposted it and more people started mentioning it lol
Lmao, i downloaded this mod back when it's only few days being released, oh god it is such a huge shipwreck and you're right, there's so many weapons yet i only use the normal pistol, smg and ar2
The mod was so bad a simple "the sun is leaking" meme created from it's review was spread over the entire internet in half a day after the review was posted. Amazing.
feeling the sun on my back, its a nice day?
nay, the sun is leaking
The Half-Life modding community consists of 2 very distinct groups, with no inbetween: The most talented people on the planet and the most mentally insane.
They called you guys “Anti-citizens” in the code comments I’m dying, they ain’t even trying to hide they are acting like the Combine.
from what I heard the comments were added to the code by the people who found it
(I could be entirely wrong I'm just going off word of mouth)
To me it more seems like a way to hide it. Using names that are found in the game to camouflage.
that's just mine comment to highlight the block, its not in dll
The person that decompiled the code called them "anticitizens", you can't read comments from a compiled dll.
That's a bad form to call the combine lmao, the combine are better than this dev
"Streisand Effect? Never heard of it!" - The brilliant minds behind Overcharged
The effect is leaking
Oh wow I gotta say, surprised that Scolcer got blocked, he was one of the most forgiving streamers towards the mod while still being critical.
Guess the mod authors were really that insecure lol.
This is like one of those "there is no escape" from horror movies or "I have outsmarted your outsmarting" moments
I name the sun 'VALVe' so it leaks half life 3
Man, the fact they went after a sub-500 view video is gonna cause one hell of a striessand effect.
No longer dark and gritty
7:37 important note about this code snippet is the comments were added by the guy that de-compiled the code, for your convenience. if you convert the hexadecimals, it gives you the steamid3 of each specified user.
The Earth Is Shrinking
yeah now you can hardly fit a tractor on nauru these days
the sky is leaking sounds like some deep Half-Life 2 iceberg theory
The Sun is Leaking 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing music choice, literally perfect considering the original song and the context of the video
the toilet is leaking gonna fix that pipe
Toilet.... skibidi..
@@Chobo077 Throw Overcharged's devs in there and say farewell to them forever.
At least you fix something that's leaking

Let's launch a review bomb campaign against Arctic Adventures Episodes' Steam page and Overcharged's ModDb page. Both mods are by the same people.
Arctic Adventures is already shot to hell. Focus on Overcharging my nerves mod
not even needed both mods are already viewed negatively + the mod is removed on moddb too for the malicious code they put into it lol
I just watched the creepy "The sun is leaking" video, felt anxiety, clicked this one and then I heard the phrase...
I am terrified
There is no hope in Overcharged.
It's a shame, such a shame, really.
if it's custom weapons and enemy placement additions, you can just make a mapbase mod (using one of it's templates, don't fork it otherwise users won't get updates from mapbase) and code most gameplay related things using vscript, dunno if you can add new entities but you can add new weapons, and custom npcs you can just create a generic_actor_custom and attach a script to it for it's AI
as for altering existing maps, just decompile the maps and fix them up yourself if you want to go full overhaul mod
The Half Life 2 Overcharged Situation is Crazy
The sun is leaking
The sun is leaking
THE.
SUN.
IS.
LEAKING.
11:15 "Wake up Mr. Freeman, wake up and, smell the ashes..."
Moral: if you can't even copy and paste the Steam ID correctly, you probably shouldn't touch the code at all.
Reminds me of Kitchen Nightmares, a lot of restaurant owners cannot take simple criticism and go into denial, keep on doing what they do and make up delusions even if a popular and expert chef like Gordon Ramsay was telling them what is wrong. Overcharge is literally Amy's Baking Company rn and the devs are Amy and her husband...
oooh i hope prison is in their future for really awful crimes like amy and her husband!!
Don't worry rad Gman will take it from here
Gman:consequences overcharged developers??
Unforeseen consequences
Prepare for unforeseen consequences
*creepy half-life 2 trumpets beings to play*
Doing something like this causes a massive erosion of trust between modders and players, regardless of who the players might be. I hope Valve takes action against them and sets the standard that doing something like this is NEVER okay in ANY mod, lest we have our modding privileges revoked because of bad apples like these losers. If the devs of this mod are reading this, heed my warning:
*Minecraft modders have already tried something similar to this with some of their mods and were permanently vilified by the community at large (with the only exceptions being the developer behind Corail Tombstone) and being effectively banned from ever making mods again. If you want to remain in Sourcemod purgatory or potentially even face legal issues from Valve by adding malicious code to your mods and distributing said code through Steam then don't be surprised if and when someone takes action against you, legal or otherwise.*
*Poke the hornets, get stung.*
Radhaz, if you end up reading this, please pin it, I feel it's important to remind everybody of proper modding etiquette for something like this, especially considering the reasons I've already stated.
Instead of fixing the entire mod, they chose to make the sun leak into the map.
10/10 mod
It's one thing to block someone on Twitter for criticizing your mod. It is a whole other level of insanity to hard code your game to make sure that person can't play your mod anymore. The sun isn't even leaking, it's completely spilled over at this point!
That is an insane response to mild criticism about a Half-Life 2 mod. How'd they expect that to turn out?
Noone is coming to this funeral of the mod
"Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines... And brotha'?

10:08 love the Will Smith reference
if it is leaking, just use flex tape!
I can’t be the only one who came into this thinking this was gonna be like a cool eldritch horror thing centered around half-life lmao.
That intro was diabolical for this mod's case 😭😭😭🙏🙏
The whole thing reminds me of the debacle with L4D's Helm's Deep map, where the creator basically modified your ENTIRE L4D game to only accept mods, players, and servers he likes.
As a diehard Deadwater fan: I was confused as well lol
me too man
From "Fully modeld" to "The sun is leaking" - we've come a long way
our sun is going to leak with this one
overchange feel like someone putting a billion gmod mod into one

Love how everyone just agreed to repeatedly say, "the sun is leaking" and ngl, best shit ever.
Man the blocking steam users are more functional than the game itself , that already tell alot about them
the virgin the fog is coming vs the chad the sun is leaking
went into this wondering what "the sun is leaking" really meant. left the video still unsure
lighting error that cuases sunlight to "leak" into areas it shouldn't be, like in a room with no windows
no matter what break i take from your content, i always end up watching your content anyway
This is a fun video. But i swear the background music sounds like you're about to burst into some beat boxing rap battle diss track at any moment.
