This is the First commentary style video I've made so let me know how I did. I have more commentary videos lined up in the future but I don't want to sink in many hours if no one will enjoy them.
okay it's really good and here's some recommendations that I learnt on my actual channel: 1. you're stuttering and if I were to I would just retake the audio clip. 2. the music doesn't match the topic, and could transition clearly between them with breaks in speech to transitions between topics/music. 3. when you go back to yourself jumping and clicking, either build a room around you and go into survival and use F1 so hide hud and talk like that or use green screen and place yourself into the video, breaking the 4th wall is really cool and you could get some inspiration for it from this other RUclipsr called Funke(he doesn't do mc but breaks the 4th wall in an entertaining way that I think you're tryna replicate) 4. put some more emotion into your voice it's great however don't be afraid to be loud and yourself. 5. you're editing is a touch choppy so either lean into it with your pacing of the video and keep the choppy editing, like that purple dude with bad ping on lifesteal or as your videos look, try to learn how to edit better, this can be done by watching videos like this commentary/video essay and see what others do around the same topic and adapt other ppls editing style of inspiration! Anyways I hoped this helped, this is what I've learnt from my experience making yt videos and has helped me grow and just a bonus thing don't be afraid to experiment, just do whatever you want to!
Also worth noting how much of an effect the Dream SMP has had on the popularity of scripted SMP with lore. They may not have been the first but they definitely are the biggest so far (and I don't think that will change because the pandemic directly influenced how successful they were)
Finally someone talking about these movies man, I've watched every single one of them and was waiting for some type of commentary like this. Great vid 👍😁
I find it Hilarious that ItsJanke posted a VERY similar video the same day. I was flabbergasted this happened because I didn't know he was making a video about the same youtuber LOL
Parrot's vids are long because they're optimized for watch time 😭 Sorry to ruin the cheesy end but it's far from being by passion that he makes slow and long vids
