@Ashroller22 good day. Both Tacoma and 4Runner are body on frame vehicles. Neither of them have a unibody. While they do share some components there is a lot of difference between the two. Different frame, engine, rear suspension are a few big ones. PS I'm not an expert I couldn't be wrong 🤷♂️ haha.

And your point is? They came with bias ply tires and drum brakes. So spend a grand on radials and then for $1500 you can get the parts to convert them to disc brakes = PLUS labor. I remember the V8 T-birds getting about 8 mpg around town. Have fun feeding it.

@@witchdoktor69 it’s not, firefighters drive fire engines and a cement mixer/ 18 wheeler is technically considered a tractor and or tractor trailer (semi truck is a nickname not a technical name) At minimum a truck needs a open frame for a open bed or work attachments to go. A 4Runner classifies as a suv. Just because something has a frame doesn’t make it a truck otherwise just about every car before the 90s would also be considered a truck.

It's more of a truck than anything else in its class also the original SUV recipe in the early days was take a truck frame and engine and transmission and put a station wagon body on top of it and give a better articulation forgetting work done and bad roads
My 4Runner is a truck just as my Excursion is a truck. International had the TravelAll, Dodge had the TownWagon, GM had the Suburban. All are trucks.

Yep. If you put a 4runner side by side next to a highlander and ask which one looks more like a truck, I guarantee you that most people will point to the 4runner.
