"You couldn't even see the tree." A mother's sacrifice for her selfish, unknowing children. I remember the days. I used to start Christmas shopping in September so as not to accrue any debts. I hid my son and daughter's gifts at my parent's house. I 'made' a man love me that contributed as well. Ah memories.
"Terrible person". She actively was involved in Jacks life way into his adulthood and was the 100% reason why Jack became as sucessful as he is. She is aggresive and little standoffish, but she used those traits to really help Jack. Do you think Jack could have been where he is without good parenting?
@@ethanharmer5151 he became successful because of her terrible parenting. To not become his mother. His family didn't have an easy life. They were poor. And racist. Lol
@@Figs3 You just said a bunch of unrelated statements. Their family didnt have an easy life, but she did the best she could with what she had. And that motivated him to be better. Also Colleen wasnt the person he didnt want to become. He didnt want to become his father who was a scumbag that left his mother! Of course we find out that guy wasnt actually his father, but the point still stands also considering Jack isnt really racist, what does racisim have to do with Colleen's parenting. And are you trying to say her being poor means she was a bad mom?
@@ethanharmer5151 He hates his mother until the very end of the show. So her parenting was garbage for a 40-50 year long relationship and you still hate your mother. His mother is racist. That's why I brought it up. Going back to my terrible person argument.
Jack hitting his mother with a car then knocking her onto the floor, and Liz accidentally telling two poor kids there's no Santa Claus, was ruin enough :)
Yep, Jeff Richmond - apparently playing "Alfonso Disparioso" here. For some reason some of the articles I found says "he has no rhythm" but it sounds good to me...
Jack and Colleen singing The Christmas Song at the end makes me feel infinite warmth.
So heartwarming. And the 'Youre flat Jack' at the end was the perfect reminder that it wasnt perfect but they loved each other
I love the relationship that Jack and his mom have on this show.
I can't get over how good Jenna's voice actually is, even though everyone ignores it.
Its kind of the joke see Jenna is actually talented and earned her spot on the show but she thinks its the crazy that keeps her around
Elaine Strich was a legend. How great that she finished her spectacular theater career by doing this show. RIP.
I still think of this scene when I hear the song this time of the year. RIP Ms Stritch
anujbeatles same; also always think of 2 black swans every time I hear oh holy night. It’s heavenly.
There was something so heartfelt about this scene... loved it. That song at the end made me tear up

That's sad.
That’s amazing and you’re a great mother
@jacquelynn *hugs you* you're pretty awesome... You really are pretty awesome!
Underappreciate transition from Jenna singing to Jack and Colleen. Orchestra swells into key change, crossed perfectly with the piano. *chef’s kiss*
She was absolutely incredible in her role! God bless 🙌
She was a terrible person, she was terrible at being a mother...but she truly loved her kids.
Colleen was a GREAT MOTHER! She was honest and she sacrificed for her ungrateful crumbsnatchers. Jackie almost forgot that he couldn't even see tree!

So jack’s mom was the real mvp? Wow
I was expecting something horrible will go wrong and ruin everything. Nope, it's a Christmas miracle!

Cherish your mom folks.
No
merry christmas everyone!
He is so cute here
Who's cutting up onions in here at 3:19?
Shut up! I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying! I once saw Colleen provoke a Buddist monk into whipping a battery at her!
As if anyone needed to see the BAILEYS ADVERT
TRAGIC

Elaine Stritch and Alec Baldwin...still makes me well up in 2023.
How sweet!
Cross to piano
Too bad Alec Baldwin is a horrible person, because this scene almost makes me want to like him. This scene still gives me chills though.
Alec sounds exactly like tony bennett when he sings !!!!
Enjoy this clip, the episode has been erased from history.
Nah this one is still up. The other Christmas episode with Colleen was taken down tho
Why?
@@scottshanahan3827 That episode, along with 3 others, were taken down due to usage of blackface
Oh, well that's stupid.
