Freedom is what the Vietnamese felt the moment you left and the barbarity and the havoc stopped. And this is applicable to each and every war that the US has fought, and lost by the way, since WWII.

A long overdue award for this soldier. I’m certain it’s because his battle was fought in Laos, a place where the USA wasn’t supposed to be, but the enemy did not care.
I appreciate the President coming to the position of attention before he saluted the Captain.

You know what, Donald trump excelled himself in honouring that veteran, in a way that was the most fitting and respectful way one could ever want. He paid tribute to all his family, remembering them by name, one and all. Regardless of your politics, don't deny that the President was totally heartfelt in his honouring of this great veteran. I am myself a former Australian Soldier and Officer. I salute President Trump.

Have you ever hid in a shell hole (or on flat ground) while mortar rounds were falling around you? Probably not. You can hear the damned things coming (and they don't sound like they do in Hollywood, its far more subtle) and its impossible to tell where they are going to land. The saying "there are no atheists in foxholes" works for me. I was an agnostic at the time but I have asked God not to let one come in the hole with me.... Finally. They pray because in America people CAN pray. I pray at least once a day... You probably should too. But you may not find this out till its too late.

the president is supposed to do it.... he and the country are thanking him for what he has done and he is personally acknowledged by the president for his actions there is no reason that to become a president you need a medal of honor

Anyway it appears likely that Pence will be doing these sorts of things soon and it's hard to see how he can be worse. Time will tell but the legal noose is tightening on this openly corrupt administration, Trump has also publicly admitted to obstructing justice which is a serious felony, be interesting to see if he spends a few years in the penitentiary for it as he clearly deserves. He should get the maximum time allowed due to his position of trust.
