I have watched a lot of these videos. I never noticed until a few seconds ago, that the only Flag to stay upright on the march pass, was Old Glory! Excellent, lads and lasses. Appreciated by a Brit!
The Stars and Strips is never to drop, the other flags are lowered to salute the reviewing officer, ie the CIC.
During times of war as well, the US flag is never raised level or any lower than any other nation's flag.

What I would have given to have been marching in the inauguration I was part of the Old Guard from May 97 to September 99 I missed out on the Bill Clinton inauguration because I was in basic training but I did take part in numerous ceremonial details including one with Bill Clinton and Tony Blair laying a wreath at the Tomb of the unknowns and numerous retirements of military personnel and also did multi service cordons..
